Network fees aren't the problem per SE. HIGH network fees, however, are. It shouldn't cost $40 to move $60. That's an epic scale of inefficiency, and it needs to be permanently resolved for crypto to have a real chance at global scale adoption. BTC needs a fee cap, and it needs to be cheaper than an ATM fee.

ITS AT ITS HIGH LETS BUY IT AT HIGH AND SELL LOW ????? Im so over the internet forever.

I don’t know where to post this as I pretty much just lurk & read but here’s my question. Would sure appreciate any input/feedback … Thank you! ******* Does anyone here buy Bitcoin on the FOLD APP?? I’m trying to transfer 300,000+ SATS and the fee is 26,000 Sats. Isn’t that SUPER HIGH???? 😨🤷🏻‍♀️

I think ETH should put a warning label on all their dexes and wallets in large letters: WARNING! OUR FEES ARE EXTREMELY HIGH. YOU WILL LOSE MONEY. This would be a fair thing to do. Vitalik is not going to compensate you with his billions. Maybe he should.

When you know the fundamentals, your game gets stronger. And yes, its a psychological problem more than educational. Once you understand your psychology and control your sentiments while having the strong grip on fundamental and technical analysis. You're good to go. And BUYING LOW SELLING HIGH is not gonna work sooner until you have an understanding of both analysis and no one esp beginners cannot bear the volatility of btc when it comes to hodling. So yeah, learn.

Being an algorithmic so much depends on Cardano Its cost to mint is VERY HIGH and the ability to mint is halted to preserve it. It's 'resistance against falt' means being launched in the bear market saw it basically protected its self, and users, as it was supposed to do and in turn not being able to be actively used and or minted. It's working as intended but if the native token is down bad in a bear then it's not gonna shine because it's reflecting back the state of the native. It's kinda how money is suppose to work lol

okay so some quick math - 50k/year * 55 years = 2,700,000 (maybe you'll live longer than 85, I don't know) then you also need to figure out your senior living costs. There's going to be a time when you can no longer take care of yourself, these costs are HIGH, especially if don't want to be in an abusive senior living system. Hopefully you live long enough for this to matter. Personally, I wouldn't bank on anything less than 4,500,000. For me the number is higher, I like to travel and that's expensive. I also want to be able to give money to my children.

You didn't refute a single point I made. Reread my post to try to understand what I told you. The reality is that the claim that BTC is money is ridiculous on its face. Everyone outside of this sub knows it. Just because people here want BTC to be money doesn't make it money. Also, it seems you are taking this personally. I'm not attacking bitcoin. It's a great investment if you know what you are doing. It will probably eventually usher in a time when crypto will be money in the future. But as I pointed out, it's nowhere close to being money, because it doesn't meet the basic requirements of a currency. Your flippant, silly joke about doing math in the computer age misses the mark by a long shot. If you were able to use BTC as often money, it would be a royal PITA, and you know it. You would have to file quarterly tax returns and track your cost basis and profit/loss on every one. And since the amount of BTC you purchased on whatever date won't line up with the amount you converted when you bought something, you'll have to split them up. I have done this on my taxes just for my buys and sells on my crypto trading. To expand that to the level of daily expenditures increases that 100 fold (or even 1000 fold). You dismiss that with a silly joke, but it's a HIGH barrier to broad acceptance as money. Maybe you have an accountant who takes care of this for you. Most people don't, and they won't want the hassle or cost of having to pay one just so crypto can be money. Come back to the real world.

>The fact that it’s culturally recognized is still valid. It is recognized in the sense that people recognize poop when they see it. To say "culturally recognized" means, it cultural sway and weight. lol. Much of crypto has no culture besides larping. The NFT sector is the worst offender. Everything is done under the guise of making money. >Doge. And that’s pretty hot rn. The fact you compared Doge with NFT larpers tell me you have very superficial understanding of the space. I have watched ETH NFT from 2021 until now. Paid attention to every move and BS! Doge has funny memes and engagement. Elon even replaced that the blue bird with the dog on Twitter. These are cultural tidbits. NFT larpers claim they want to support building the "metaverse", "IP", "crypto gaming" and all sort of BS. Most don't even get half way and call it a day. When the floor price stop moving, all of these KOLers just switch to the next hot pfp, no matter what has been built. Despite ETH NFTs projects have extravagent funding, they have made a much less cultural awareness and attention impact than memecoins. How many NFT blue chips done crazy stunts like putting a hat on the Wall Street bull? Nada. It is all about why floor price this and that. Talking down on others as "too poor" to understand their shit. And then when goes down, they lie about how money will rotate back into them. Yes, the ppl they ridicule would be the ones pumping their floor price. Lol the entitlement and copium... > Did you completely miss the part about cheap L2? Is it cheap? Right now, it costs $1.21 for me to send ETH from Coinbase to Arb. I have heard so much condescending and gaslighting BS from ETH maxis. Like, *"if you aren't willing to pay these "cheap" ETH L2 fees, you must be down so bad and should just leave crypto and give up."* That is the nauseating attitude from ETH maxis that has put a lot of us who used to buy ETH to want to pull a BIG MIDDLE FINGER AT YOU ALL! >You see a btc fee lately? Here is a nodemonkes purchase example on MagicEden: (41 minutes ago) [https://mempool.space/tx/29722af3100dab9ffd71e5603e0864ef370c1501438df1152555b67bf6616963](https://mempool.space/tx/29722af3100dab9ffd71e5603e0864ef370c1501438df1152555b67bf6616963) It costs $17.41 in fees on BTC. Within the same time, here is a MAYC purchase on Blur: (41 minutes ago) [https://etherscan.io/tx/0xfe0bd04aa100ef1868a2c9f09351af94ed95fa03a7c4430f6a6edca0e16a28a7](https://etherscan.io/tx/0xfe0bd04aa100ef1868a2c9f09351af94ed95fa03a7c4430f6a6edca0e16a28a7) It costs $100.64 in fees on ETH. No. Anyone who has used BTC/Ordinals know it is fucking more expensive on ETH than BTC. >High fees mean PEOPLE WANT TO PAY THOSE FEES The most funny part of ETH maxis is a whole lot of you don't understand how your fee market even works. It is not a real time bidding auction, as many want to claim. After EIIP-1559, fee is determined by LAST BLOCK's capacity and completely denominated in ETH. When market rallies, cascading liquidation of shorts often mean positions **NEED** TO PAY THOSE FEES. There is a funny analogy to this ETH maxis BS talk. It is like saying, the US has a housing crisis, because PEOPLE WANT TO PAY HIGH MORTGAGES. It is incredible gaslighting feed by the crypto bigwigs and higher ups to gaslight the entire low IQ group in this space. It completely ignores how it is due to ETH not scaling its blockspace on main net and artificially setting a price curve based on EIIP-1559. I don't believe most Americans would buy housing price is high because they *WANT TO PAY HIGH MORTGAGES.* Yet somehow, this nonsense is getting such a crappy pass in this space.

I think it’s also bc of all the news and app notifications. If you haven’t looked at BTC in awhile, and suddenly get “BTC ALL TIME HIGH!” 📣🔔🚨Notifications, you might be tempted to log in and sell on an otherwise normal day

Bro I seen it hit its ATH and it feels like a lot of people just seen ATHP(ALL TIME HIGH PROFITS)😅😅

"Your entire strategy is based on a single asset." so what? being a simple strategy doesn't mean it's a worse one ---------------------------------- "Sure you could have big returns and I’m not saying you won’t, but you could also easily lose all of it if the price tanks." that's the same as saying "the sky is blue" it doesn't do any favours in your point of view since my point is that younger people SHOULD TAKE MORE RISK lose all of it if the price tanks is exactly the consequence of taking risks but you are only looking the "bad side" of it, you forgot to consider that you will have HIGHER returns on average ------------------------------------ "The whole point of the investing triangle is having a balance. " no it's not, the triangle is for you to know the elements that should be considered when making an investment. the triangle doesn't have an opinion and saying that "you should have balance in your investment" is an opinion that are making you become blind to the truth taking more risk and expecting more return because of it IS ALSO USING THE TRIANGLE OF INVESTING ----------------------------------------------- "The potential returns are higher than the S&P but the risk is massively higher as well." you are completly wrong here, not in the direction that you are thinking but in your intensity (which makes all the difference here) the potential returns are WAY HIGHER than the S&P and the risk is higher but not so much as you would think. if you consider the returns of bitcoin since 2018 and the same for S&P500 the return is WAY BETTER for bitcoin and this time-frame includes the two WORST years of bitcoin, also it DOESN'T include the two BEST years of bitcoin and also this time-frame the average return is almost 12% yearly but the true average of S&P500 is around 10% yearly so i choose a VERY KIND time-frame for S&P 500 and the return of the bitcoin was almost DOUBLE of S&P500, also before you give me the robotic phrase "Past performance is no guarantee of future results", what i'm saying to you is that I EXPECT that the performance would be similar than this time-frame and i have series of good reason to point that (and look, it is happening hahahah) -------------------------------------------------------- " If your proposition is dump all of your savings into a highly volatile single asset then I don’t think that good for most people that can’t afford to lose all of that money if it tanks." yeah my proposition is that people TAKE RISKS it's human to being risk-averse, but for you to generate real wealth, you have to partake in risks, i'm not proposing for people to bungee jump without proper training, but to foster an ideal and investing in that one idea, that can yield an unmaginable return people are wasting their youth, living afraid of taking risks so study a lot in what you are going to invest, and then TAKE THE HIGH RISK HIGH REWARD play but of course i can do the "dumb frame game" with your idea too --------------------------------------------------------

between the fact that most people bought in at or near the top last time and took a fucking bath, and then cryptobros made the situation even worse with idiot-NFT-mania, there's a lot of negative sentiment out there among the normals. the wealthy are fine - they've got their ETF to feel cool about now, and the crazies (I'm looking at everyone who comes to reddit to talk about crypto) are fine, or as fine as we ever are. But the normals, those guys are out this run, at least till the greed factor gets SO HIGH they have to try again. But remember, we had socialism back during the last bull run and the whole US except for me was swimming in that free money while also working full salary from home, spending zero dollars on travel, commuting or eating out. This time, the corporations and their pet governments are punishing us for feeling pretty good and have quadrupled interest rates, doubled prices across the board and lowered salaries. Any bump this time is basically only benefitting the establishment and the whales.

If you're in this, BE IN THIS. If you finally bought in, STAY IN. If you're investing in BTC, you should have had a plan when you invested. A PLAN AS IN: I will stay in until X LOW and will sell if it goes below that, and will sell above X HIGH if it goes above that. It takes all emotion out of it. Personally, I'm in it until the end. I'll wait for BTC to go to zero. I have committed to the cause and will not sell because I'm going to lose my shirt, I already planned on potentially losing it all. I wouldn't have gone into it otherwise. These funds are not needed somewhere else, I did not raid a kids 529, I did not raid a trust fund, and I did not divert an inheritance to a risky investment. You should NEVER say ... I CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE ANY MORE, I HAVE TO SELL. These people cannot afford investment. Don't invest unless you can afford to lose money, potentially all of it (although nobody plans on this, it can happen and it should be in your plan). With that said, damn ... dipping below 40k does sting a bit and is disheartening. But BTC is for tomorrow. It doesn't even have 5% adoption yet ... and it's 40k.

1. "Banks/CEXes/DEXes/etc can only loan out as much BTC as they have" this is false. CEX can loan out however much it wants. What can (and does happen in real life) is that the CEX can provide loans in the form of an I owe you (example coinbase loans you bitcoin and keeps them on coinbase, so you have an account in coinbase with a positive balance when oyu log in). You decide to spend that "BTC" (we know its not real) as part of your business and someone accepts it. That person with their fake BTC can go to say Kraken or Binance and say "hey I have this I owe you from Coinbase" and if Kraken or Binance honors it (which a bitcoin maximalist wish they wouldn't but just in the previous bull cycle we certainly did have going on with FTX) then now they deposit their "BTC" there and so on and so forth. And it gets worse. If all exchanges magically honored to only loan 0.0001% of their BTC this compounding STILL would happen and cause ARBITRARILY HIGH amounts of inflation in sufficient amounts of time. 2. ", but it wouldn't work for any extended period of time with BTC because of the inelastic supply" gold got devalued in the 1900s when dollars devalued due to inflation. Actual real gold. The real thing. Had less buying power because dollars were inflated and people knew the government couldn't honor its gold to dollar trade if everyone tried to trade but no one believed a bank run would happen anytime too soon, and whenever an individual traded their dollars for gold it was honored. We had to wait until the 1940s with the great depression for gold to actually get priced correctly. Bitcoin is no more special than gold in this regard. Your real bitcoins are going to get devalued because some idiot decided to loan out his BTC on a CEX and some idiot decided to accept that I owe you on the CEX as a means of payment. There's nothing you can do to stop them from being stupid except wait for the Crash (whenever it happens) and then say I told you so, and then watch the inflation happen all over again. 3. " there won't be any injections or bailouts." No one can print BTC. But that doesn't stop anyone from bailing out a failed exchange. The government bailouts were just buying the banks with dollars at their fair market price. Some whale can just buy out a bunch of near bankrupt exchanges by buying their stock at pennies to the dollar (or should I say satoshis to the BTC), prop them up, turn a profit for a few years, and then liquidate their shares in the exchange JUST like the Fed did (The Fed bought shares in banks, kept the banks alive long enough for another bullish market in 2017 and then dumped all the bank stock for a profit onto retail and institutions) . The Fed printed money to do this but they didn't even have to. If they just reduced the Basel Capital reserve requirements for banks they wouldn't even had to print. Banks would create the inflation they needed to provide the liquidity to dump their shares for a profit.

MONDAY - positively all about the crypto baby. Retail is are buying, hey, you heard about that krep-toe over the holli bobs from your friends and family and Co workers an baby its all good. There's an ETF coming. TUESDAY - Back to work Tuesday. Btc is just weird digital money, you know. See how much the miners are dropping, forget about the ETF and think more about bonds, bonds are so fucking hot right now while that yield inverts between the 10yr and the 2yr, we are talking convergence. WEDNESDAY - Jim "Invert me" Cramer says it's here to stay. Retails shooook by the 10% drop. Why didn't I buy those bonds, who the fuck told me to buy bitcoin, etF? ET-NAAAH. Thursday - Its still dipping, I told you bonds and sell that news, Jim's got the boomers all riled up and they have told their friends that the Etf and BTc are both failing and look it still dropping. Crypto punks are fucked, look Vit is talking about making eth cyber punk again? Retail is still shooook. What we doing??? Friday - fuck it I'm buying bonds. Boomers buying bonds. The hell is this btc etf nonsense, retails selling, the stock market is tanking. What is going on. Saturday & Sunday - crypto trades sideways. Retail is gone, boomers won't touch it with a pole, Sec is a fucking fool, damm Gary. Damn Gary straight to hell. Monday - SpY HITS NEW TIME HIGH. BONDs tank to fuck, no one gives a shit about your fiat 500% interest mate. Someone leaks the Etf is approved, 9 of them. Sealing BTC as a legitimate asset, rarer than gold. And retail. The boomers, all sold or believed what was told to them. Black rock and etf applicants get btc for cheap. sEc members go on to knowing "inside knowledge" and get paid bank. Boomers miss out and have to buy into the ETF for BTC with high fees with high cost because wtf is an NF-Tee, this ain't golf. Retail loses because they didn't understand the market, its not taught in schools, no one gives a damn about compounding interest or the law of diminishing return. The holders didn't adhere to diminishing returns, or the dip. Stakers kept on staking. Tuesday - Believe it or not, dip.

Where I work, the lowest payed highschool DROP OUT makes about $35-$40k. Everyone I know who works in skilled trades (mostly people with just a HS diploma or GED) making the same as most median college grads too, about $60-$80k. Very experienced skilled trades and big rig truckers make well over 6 figures, about the same as most people WITH PROFESSIONAL DEGREES. Don’t be suckered by the boomer propaganda. Go look up the numbers yourself at BLS . Gov or OPENPAYROLLS . Com website. Example. HIGH RISE CRAIN OPERATOR IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA MAKES THE SAME AS A STATE JUDGE AND THE SAME AS AN MEDIAN PAY PEDIATRICIAN! All your models on education are out of date and out of touch with the real numbers.

Depends on the income.. the “excess” income might not be enough to compensate. I will give you an example. About 2 years before paying off my house with my investment gains, I SERIOUSLY THOUGHT ABOUT SELLING MY HOUSE to go back to school full time and get into nursing or veterinarian etc. My normie parents thought it was a good idea… even to live in a car while going to school. (Not wanting to borrow student loans). I did the actual math, and concluded that if I PAYED OFF MY HOUSE INSTEAD, my income pocketed would be MORE THAN BECOMING A NURSE. I have zero regrets too, because I looked up the actual take home pay of a coworker who is USDA veterinarian and after TAXES, STUDENT LOANS AND RENT/MORTGAGE, we pocketing THE SAME AMOUNT!!! Actually, after also factoring unrealized capital gains in hard assets like bitcoin, real estate etc, my veterinarian colleague was actually POCKETING LESS BY ABOUT $10,000/yr. Zero debt making average income with zero mortgage/rent and zero student loans IS EQUIVALENT TO A NORMIE INDEBTED PERSON MAKING DOUBLE in a same state. The numbers are even more shocking when factoring the cost of living. Example, a Walmart trucker in Tennessee actually takes home about the same as a average physician living in a HIGH COST OF LIVING CITY like Brooklyn or San Francisco, after taxes, and student loan debt obligations. When adding bitcoin too the numbers, it’s even crazier…the average surgeon can’t save enough bitcoin in 2023 compared some burger flipping wagie who was stacking like a MAD MAN in 2014. Bitcoin is compounding at a rate faster than most people can keep up with.

OP just said "Have a plan" and then shared his. if my plan was to sell over 30, then i should consider myself happy - and when it continued to 50+ i could kick myself if i wanted, or i could remember that i had a plan and that plan had made me money. you will ALWAYS see phantom losses - money you COULD have made "if i had bought sooner!" Jesus. I know the timing thus date of the halving is variable, hence I gave a window. Unlike you I am not fixated on a specific date. And, this is where you are showing your failure to read what I actually wrote: I AM NOT SAYING THE CYCLE ALL TIME HIGH IS WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF THE HALVING. I wrote that in caps so you might actually grasp it. Read again what I wrote before, twice. “A” *new* all time high is made, within 6 months of the halving. Let me write that another one for it to sink in: with each cycle, the current all time high is invalidated within 6 months of the halving. Thus a new all time high is made. The ‘blow off top’ peak of the bull cycle is, yes, made around 18 months after the halving.

r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

If they do, they're delusional. Look at the market caps, and compare that to the MC of entire stock exchanges. The money just isn't there. Maybe it could 10-50x, at the HIGH end, which could get you some nice fun money or a down payment on a house. But unless you are way overinvesting in crypto and being financially irresponsible, that's not making anyone rich unless they are already very, very well off. The only way crypto can make you big money is by active leverage trading, which terrifies people in this sub because they don't know how to do it. Which is fine; to each their own and don't go out of your comfort zone. There's a reason 90% lose money in it. But if done properly, it can make bank (I 10x'd my account in 3 months once, another time 5x'd it in 2 months, doubling it in a month or two is not a particularly noteworthy event. But also losing 20% in a week is not noteworthy. But that goes for just buying and holding, too. And just this last week, I spent about 4-6 hours a day on it just to come out \~10% ahead. In other words, as you say, there is no free lunch easy money anymore). Another way to think about it - institutions are very risk-averse. They can be, they don't need to chase big wins since their funds are so large. But they absolutely must not lose money. And low risk investments have low returns, almost by definition. Institutions are now super interested in btc. What does that tell you?

>Like what does carry cost have to do with ponzi schemes? Every commodity has some carry cost (cost to store and protect from theft). Fiat has carry cost. I have to protect my cash from theft and deterioration. A bank account has risk only mitigated by insurance cost, tax or dilution funded bailouts, or bail-ins. The carry cost of everything else isn't doubling each 4 years algorithmically. What purpose do halvings serve, if not artificial scarcity giving way to artificial demand? Halvings are not sustainable, so I don't know why you're comparing BTC to apples or copper when those things are sustainable regardless of their carry cost. If someone finds a massive copper deposit with 100% more copper than we thought we had, that doesn't degrade all other copper in existence, but if the same happened to BTC it would become insecure and likely break. Taxes are ponzinomics, too. Are you really comparing BTC with fiat here? Either way my point is that no one is willing to pay the carrying costs for their Bitcoin. Fees are only paid indirectly, abstracted in market sell pressure. People are passing the buck down to future generations to pay. Once halvings necessitate HIGH fees then miners must accrue fee revenue or BTC will fail, but instead of building use cases with our subsidized blockspace today we HODL because, reasons? How do you see this playing out? Will your kids really want to pay $100 to make a transaction when the hashrate is volitile? To accomplish what exactly? If they don't find a use case, miners won't get paid, and the experiment dies. This is a result of having an exponential distribution, today 95% of BTC has already been minted, 95% of the incentives to secure the blockchain are already over with. Imagine a scenereo where your kids and grandkids had access to secure BTC blockspace regardless of the fee they paid, like you experience today, wouldn't that be genuinely better for Bitcoin EVEN IF you never get to dump artificially scarce coins onto kids? Why is BTC blockspace so CHEAP today, if that's *not* exactly the game everyone is playing?? >So if bitcoin mining makes bitcoin a ponzi that requires fiat, the banking system makes the dollar a ponzi that requires a constant inflow of bitcoin to maintain value in btc. The gov also runs a deficit, constantly increasing the supply that isn't even related to running the currency. Yes lol the dollar is a ponzi. I thought that was Satoshi's point, money making is insidious and must not be adjusted by greedy people. When the Fed mints $100 that still has $100 in purchasing power when they first spend it, by the time it trickles through the economy to you it only has eg $90 of purchasing power despite having $100 on its face. Like miners that mint currency and feed it into the markets. But Satoshi also intended BTC to scale up to function as a global P2P a currency too, and that would've been the difference between a ponzi that serves a few (fiat) or a ponzi (inflation) that serves literally everyone, except today BTC serves only a few because people decided after the fact Satosho's whitepaper should be adjusted to being a SoV/rock instead, ironically. >Btw bitcoin is not a static protocol, if what you describe starts to happen, that the mining system starts to fail, bitcoin would likely update it or even go PoS which requires hardly any cost to maintain I *really* don't see this happening. The Bitcoin community is a POW community foremost. Bitcoin has spent years pushing away all development, there has been serious brain drain, and its community prides itself in being unchanging and ossified ie perfect as is. Today there are upgrades BTC could undergo which would enable it to scale ON CHAIN using ZKproofs, practically solving this entire issue (of no one *using* BTC), but no one can ever implement them because there will always be unknown risks. Bitcoin is extremely conservative to a fault. There are upgrades BTC could undergo which would make it quantum resistant, that require users to move to a new wallet manually, and this could have been implemented years ago already. Except these signatures will enable some ETH like features, and people absolutely don't want that anywhere near Bitcoin. IBM said 2030 is their target for quantum decryption for what that's worth, can the BTC community agree on consensus to hard fork some ETH features to the base BTC protocol before then? I truly doubt it, security be dammed or it would've already happened, ideologies seem to matter more. Miners are the group who aren't bagholders. If mining goes bust and all BTC became worthless they'd be some of the least impacted. Yes they lose future income, but they're a fiat business and will find another source of fiat income surely. If these were not ponzinomics Saylor wouldn't have to worry about if the top of the pyramid is in profit or not, it shouldn't matter to him. Halvings aren't like that bug which minted billions of BTC, that everyone can just agree on rolling back the chain to fix it. If BTC gets put into an unprofitable spot, which it mathematically must at some point, it will spark a war of ideologies.. except there won't be any time to do that, after the fact. If mining becomes unprofitable its hashrate will be as volitile as the price was initially, artificial scarcity rose the price of BTC and artificial hashrate suppression can crash the hashrate just the same. If BTC becomes susceptible to a 51% attack while 10% of today's miners are hardly breaking even, the other 90% ex miners can practically *own* BTC at little cost at which point it requires cost ie losses to mine honestly, to maintain integrity. People will not spend 2 BTC on minting 1 BTC just to ensure a ledgers integrity which no one is even using.. If BTC wallets start getting drained by a quantum computer in 6-7 years, all integrity is already lost, little matters after especially as it takes 1-2 years to mitigate. Ponzinomics doesn't mean ponzi. Ponzi is explicitly fraud. Ponzinomics aren't fraudulent but have ponzi-traits otherwise, and are unfortunately very typical in tech or startups. MLM's are a clear example of ponzinomics. I don't think it's disingenuous to say halvings are ponzinomics, similiar to an MLM scheme, or really what other purpose does it serve?

Longing means buying expecting price action to go up, especially when trading with margin/leverage. Meaning if I have 0.1 ETH, I can 10x that with leverage and buy 1 ETH, but I'm at risk of losing my 0.1 ETH if the price dips whatever % my liquidation price is set to. Shorting is the opposite, but a little trickier. To short an asset, you have to borrow that asset against your margin (coins put up as collateral) and sell it at the price you want with the expectation it will go down, and the % it goes down will be the profit you make. You take the profit by buying the asset back at a lower value, thus giving you the difference in profits. With your 0.1 ETH you borrow 1 ETH at 10x leverage and sell it at $1600, if ETH drops to $1400 you sell the ETH and cash in your $200 profit (whether in USDT/BTC/ETH depending on the trading pair). The cool thing about shorting if a person does it well is that you get to profit on the way down and then you can buy the asset with those profits at a cheaper price. HIGH RISK stuff though. It sounds a little more daunting when written out, but it's definitely something (same with margin longing) people shouldn't be doing until they're intermediate-advanced traders.

I think it has to be life changing for people who know about it in some of the more poor places. I mean IDK if smartphones are common in third world areas but even just much more poor areas it could be HUGE ... like just having a smartphone and being able to post on here would give you a HIGH income in comparison to any job you could get in the area. You might even be considered rich in some areas. I made $500 for about an hour or two a day of participation this past month ... cant imagine what I would make if I could do it all day.

Don’t use CDC for swapping. They have their use but not for trading in the main app due to HIGH SPREAD!! Kraken I better currently. Cdc good for EU via exchange, I still like the card due to high returns on CRO (it’s down +90% but still alive).

>If someone loses money in a rugpull, are they a victim, or should they have known better? I think it is a bit of both. Rugpulls usually have some kind of HIGH APR or some other way out of wack profit attached to them. The " too good to be true " scenario. Humans are greedy as Scrooge McDuck, but are not as smart as that comic book billionaire seems to be. Everyone is a financial genius.. until they are not.

Nobody really looks at the technical advantages of other cryptocurrency networks, like say BCH, which is vehemently hated on this sub and by many BTC maxis because it has poor price action and isn't as widely adopted. Well I hate to break it you, BTC isn't that accepted either, practically nowhere accepts it as legal tender and it's frankly useless other than being a store of value. Even Ethereum is in the same boat, it's too goddamn expensive to even use their main L1 network, depending heavily on L2 solutions and BTC is heading this way too. How is something that is too expensive to use and mine, going to change the world? Banks are cheaper and easier to use than both of the largest shilled networks in this space. BTC at $1M would have INSANELY HIGH FEES, how much sense does that make for adoption? Look at DOGE, it was literally created as a joke and it has INSANELY LOW FEES, INSANELY FAST TRANSACTION SPEEDS, and basically an infinite supply. Too many people only think of the fast money aspect and pay no attention to the dwindling technology that isn't advancing in major networks. In the cryptocurrency space, anything can be replaced with newer, better technology, but instead everyone focuses on what has survived bear/bull markets. If it doesn't consistently advance itself like Vitalik Buterin has been doing with Ethereum 2.0, it's going to be redundant in the future and basically just be a memecoin of a once great network.
