Because gaming on blockchain means total ownership over all of your in game assets and the game itself. And with that ownership would come more rights and be ability to then sell said assets if you chose too. Compared to the current gaming industry standard, you own nothing. The money you paid for skins or items and skins and everything you’ve earned isn’t actually yours. Honestly right now, as a retail investor, looking to make some money off of BTC in the upcoming run - dont buy Bitcoin right now. Here's my thesis: What you should be doing leading in to a bull run (i.e. right now) is buying leveraged bitcoin-related assets, like the top btc mining stocks (Mara, Riot) or large publicly traded companies that have large BTC holdings (Microstrategy has almost 200,000 BTC in their Treasury, next largest is Block Inc). The math here is simple. Look at a direct investment into bitcoin as a 1:1 asset-to-profit ratio, that is to say, for every dollar that bitcoin increases in value, you will gain one dollar. If it loses one dollar in value, your investment will also go down by a dollar. Straight 1:1 ratio, super simple right? If you purchase shares in one of the upcoming btc etfs, its slightly less than 1:1 asset-to-profit ratio, maybe 1 : 0.98 lets say. This is because for every dollar that bitcoin increases, your etf share value will increase ALMOST by an equivalent dollar, minus the management fees on the ETF. So its a \*slightly\* worse return than investing in the actual asset. Now, if you instead were to buy some Microstrategy stock MSTR (which trades in fractional shares so you can buy incremental amounts) - this is a publicly traded company with 200,000 BTC on their corporate treasury and a market cap of only $10 billion, the largest BTC holdings of any publicly traded company on the planet - they have more btc on their treasury than all other public companies that hold btc in the world COMBINED. Look at the charts on trading view: when btc increases, MSTR value increases faster over a given time period - this is because the company buys bitcoin with cheap debt. It's a leveraged btc asset. So effectively, when you look at the rate of return, MSTR has an asset-to-profit ratio much higher than 1:1, more like 2:1 - as btc increases linearly in price by 100% for example, MSTR stock increases by 200% or more - twice as profitable as the bitcoin increase itself or higher. This is b/c of leverage - borrowed money - that multiplies the returns. This is how big boys make cash - leveraged profits. Alternatively, consider publicly-traded top bitcoin mining stock MARA - they have \~14,000 BTC on their treasury , which is more than 30% more than the next top BTC mining company RIOT. They are the largest pub traded btc mining stock in USA at $6billion market cap, more than x2 larger than the next largest mining company, RIOT. If you follow the charts on Trading view for BTC mining companies during bullruns - they outpace the rise in btc by MUCH MORE than MSTR - we are talking a 6x higher increase in share price than the btc price. For example, if you look at the may 2020 halving up until lets say mid 2021 - btc mining stocks like riot and mara vastly outperformed the price of bitcoin. These companies are even more heavily leveraged than MSTR. During the last bullrun, if BTC was 1:1 and MSTR is 2:1, these mining companies are getting like 5:1 returns on btc or larger. Buying stocks like MSTR or MARA have advantages over holding the actual asset BTC - they can be purchased in tax-sheltered accounts, while BTC can't. One day down the road, you will have to pay tax on your BTC profits to eventually get $CAD or $USD - whereas many tax-sheltered accounts you pay little to no taxes on capital gains on your stock holds in the account. If you sell BTC in Canada and US - you will pay capital gains tax on your BTC gains. Not sure what that is down south, but up here in Canada you are looking at 25% tax or more on crypto gains. Its crazy. Whereas I can hold shares of these companies in my tax sheltered account, and get higher returns than bitcoin, and pay no taxes on those profits. WARNING: dont get too horny over leveraged BTC assets. They can multiply the upside, giving higher returns than BTC, but if BTC crashes, your investment will go down at a HIGHER than 1:1 ratio. So the risk is much higher than the traditional asset. Personally - Im a regular dude in my 30s in Canada who has been following bitcoin for a decade. I hold the actual BTC asset in cold storage from back in the day, before I became financially literate and learned stuff like the wall of text above. This was little bits of bitcoin I bought here and there over the years, through university, while working in restaurants etc. Now that I'm a big boy with a real job, and have acquired financial knowledge under my belt and have learned about wealth creation, I've revised my strategy accordingly. I own these leveraged stocks in my tax-sheltered accounts for taxfree profits leading up to the bullrun/during the bullrun. What my strategy is, is to use these leveraged assets + tax sheltered accounts to make tax free profits during the run; selling out of these stocks mid-bull run with 100% tax free gains - then during the crash in 2026, buy the hard asset BTC dirt-cheap and stick it in to cold storage with the rest of it. Then as we approach the 2028 halving, I will do the same again - buy leveraged btc assets in tax sheltered accounts - make tax free profit - rotate those profits into actual cheap BTC during the crash of 2030 - rinse and repeat. I hope this make sense. Ultimately, its about building a strategy to maximum wealth creation during the short pre-bull/bull windows, locking in those tax free gains, and then rotating those gains into actual BTC during the inevitable crash that follows every bull run cycle. Thats the play. Just buying BTC itself, and holding through the bullrun, and then selling for 1:1 minus taxes down the road, IS NOT THE PLAY. THINK BIG PICTURE, LONG TERM. To the OP: buying mining hardware as a retail investor is actually the fastest way to lose all of your money in bitcoin. You will never make profit, You will lose what little you clearly have to invest with. Please don't do this. Explore options for buying stocks in companies with leveraged exposure in a tax-sheltered account. I think you need to reevaluate your post, I too have multiple Rare NFT all of which cost in the range of roughly $2500 some higher some lower. I knew the second I started this thing it most likely was a rug or scam but I was early. For nearly 60 days I was just smooth sailing until the release of the season pass which started ARMAGEDDON. 1.) SEASON PASS IS A SCAM. A.)They make you lock up XCAD every month, but they won’t release it for a year? And then the following month add the same amount of XCAD or you risk not being able to earn every day because of an 18 hour repair window, which did not exist for any of the prior 60 days. B.) Each time in order to repair you now need XCAD not just PLAY to repair, like I said 60 prior days only PLAY but now they force you to buy XCAD which is fairly useless, it’s not like the locked XCAD is being staked to secure a network. 2.) LEGENDARY NFT RELEASE. Approximately 3x the value of a Rare NfT worth roughly $7500 for just one. This made Rare NFT no longer have 6 repair but 5. (For newbies basically instead of every 5th day taking one repair off, now it’s repair every day). What a great way to treat top tier customers! 3.) Your earnings off any NfT are based off two things, Attributes and the relative price of PLAY token. Since opening every video you watch, every time you repair, all these attributes over time grow with experience and then allow you to upgrade a level and for a time the max level was 10. **** If you have made it this far than I am sorry to tell you it only gets worse*** Since Season Pass levels can now be maxed out to level 20, I only have 1 NFT that has a single attribute at 10 and now it’s considered only halfway. The experience you gain is so incremental compared to the amount of levels they added, how long before to 30,40,100? ***They Also added a free claim box each day which ironically the claiming fee plus the transaction fee combined are more than the rewards themselves, tricky devs.*** 4.) AGING NFT. The title says it all, now due to the overall market they deemed it necessary to reduce the rewards QUITE SUBSTANTIALLY. Normal repair took about 25% and the new aging system has taken another 20%. So I’m earning roughly half of what I was of PLAY token was at 0.075 but what happens if that falls in value? You guessed it EVEN LESS REWARDS LOL. TLDR I got in XCAD early swapped token like ETH MATIC FILCOIN AVAX for BNB to then buy my NFTs. As of yesterday I got all my original tokens swapped back, however since I have started the network has continue to implement more ways to take more in fees while reducing your earnings. I warn anyone joining now be careful because unless PLAY token can halt in price everyone’s rewards are truly fucked. Some people spent $8k on a Legendary NFT only to 12 days later have them cut rewards by a quarter. Many like myself will just bleed them dry because we all see what’s going on, and before too long another update will take even more and then I’ll sell them for a ridiculous price and the buyers will be completely clueless not understanding how they might earn $150 a day but end up paying $70 in repair/transaction/claiming fees. However when I owned them originally I was earning $250 a day and only paying like $20 in repair costs, HAPPY HUNTING!

XCAD used to only generate revenue from users buying the NFTs but as of today it now requires XCAD to be apart of the PLAY when repairing your NFT. Each day your going to have to repair (their cut roughly about 25% of daily earnings ) in order to be able to continue watching videos the previous day. (You only get to watch 5 a day per NFT) Now you need XCAD on top of the normal PLAY to repair the NFT. XCAD has already 3x from less than a week in preparation for the new repair protocol. Instead of swapping out PLAY for BNB then swapping back into whatever coins everyone instead could have just swapped PLAY for XCAD and tripled your returns lol, this is the common degen play but my honest guess is XCAD is going to surge if it can survive their bear market which it has been doing really well.

How’s this simple scenario for risk management: You buy BTC now at 30k, and you believe it’ll one day AT LEAST go to ATH. Let’s say it doesn’t even reach HALF of its ATH. Now come on, it certainly will, but okay let’s say it only reaches an abysmal 1.50. Which you and I can admit, it would be surprising that it wouldn’t the cycle BTC would break 100k. Okay, .30 to 1.50 is a 5x. I’ve already crushed your portfolio of BTC IF IM WAITING FOR THE CYCLE TO PLAY OUT. The argument of ALTS/BTC is very very short term, you’re assuming people are actively looking to sell, right now. They have a telegram group where the CEO is very active and the team are incredibly transparent. They've got their roadmap and GitHub available through there or on their website along with their new governance portal and blog. Watch2Earn builds on the stepn and axie models with a shit load of gamification including seasons, NFT battles, XP/leveling up, various rarities, staking, lotteries, LP pools and more. I agree with your points but blockchains games offer a key feature that Web2 games don't, and that is PLAY & EARN. If blockchain games become somewhat comparable fun-wise to Web2 games, players are going to flock to a PLAY & EARN model. The other possibility is that some Web2 games, start to offer some earning capabilities to their players. Whatever happens I just hope that blockchain games help improve the gaming industry, be it by making blokchain the standard, or by forcing Web2 games to improve.

This is very sound advice. I buy Bitcoin through Swan and it’s stored by Prime Trust. I believe they are doing the best they can but even their terms of service indicate “we don’t know what regulation might be like for things like Bitcoin so if something happens to our business model and we are not solvent, we guarantee nothing”. This is why Swan advocates for pulling your Bitcoin out. Until a couple of days ago I was comfortable with that “risk” until Silicon Valley Bank collapsed. They have a relationship with Prime Trust so needless to say I immediately ordered a cold hardware wallet and am working on a plan to move my Bitcoin to that. I highly recommend Jameson Loop’s resources which I linked below. TRUST NOBODY, VERIFY YOURSELF, DONT PLAY GAMES WITH YOUR BITCOIN. After the 2008 financial crisis silver saw a nearly 50% dip in prices then a 5x rise shortly after by 2011, in 2020 we saw a 25% drop in prices followed SWIFTLY by a 2x rise in prices in a matter of months. Right now silver is cheap andstill dropping while supply of physical silver is very tight as indicated by premiums on physical metal and comex inventory stats. #But for the love of god DONT PLAY THE COMEX PAPER SILVER GAME! SLV is a scam, youll never get metal from them with paying exorbitant fees to "load out" a bar. Get physical silver not derivatives, dca as it drops, and hold it until the bounce. Lol this project is crazy. So before it launched I jumped on the telegram, and started wrecking the devs about how this was a scam that didn't make any sense. "In 7 years I could buy the continental united States!" I joked. Eventually I said "fuck it" and tossed in 100 bucks. I thought the hype would be good for a 2x or so. Anyways. It went up to $26,000 CAD. I pulled out a bunch and paid off all my debts. Fast forward and the APY made me back most of the tokens I sold. They had a feature called PLAY. I put 100% of my tokens in. It got hacked and I lost 20k. 2 days later the devs paid everyone back everything they lost out of dev wallet. I couldn't believe it. That's just insane. My confusion grew. Ended up selling a bunch again, and gave a bunch of money to my dad. He acted like it wasn't even that cool of me though, so that sucked. (One day I will make him proud ) Now I have a decent amount of tokens, and I'm just waiting to see what happens. I have never been so confused and conflicted in my life. It goes against common sense, and everything I have learned in crypto over the past 7 years. Anyways. That's my story. I can't wait to see what happens because again, it's hilarious, and it paid off my car and line of credit... please come back in 6 months and let's discuss what happened!! I'm mostly disappointed by them. They're hard to balance. If you get NFTs and crypto right away, the Long term value of these items plummets, new accounts can game the system. Otherwise, games like axie drive me nuts. A one point it would have cost $800 just to buy a shit starter team + insane ETH fees. not trying a game for a $800 investment. Some are very very very much pay to win. Some you only make money if you Pay a ton upfront. Some are just worthless Some are shit games using Crypto Gimmicks. It's still early. I do wish they were more PLAY to Earn. Instead of pay to earn.

Also, a little while after I bought my tokens, the PLAY function of Titano (effectively a randomly selected lottery where you still get and APY but it was a lot less than the 100k and a chance of winning prizes of about 25k usd equivalent of Titano) had a smart contract breach and the price was tanked to $0.03. There was a quick recovery though, unfortunately to liquidity to buy in near that price at the time.
