Iran 🇮🇷 sending drones to Israel 🇮🇱 was the absolute PERFECT timing for a correction!! $72+ BTC wasn’t sustainable before the halving. The crypto market needed a reason to liquidate and correct BTC to about $66k. The timing of a correction and global fear was absolutely perfect!! Most coins are only down from 3 months ago, that’s NOT bad!! The long term goal of BTC is $1,000,000 per coin…hopefully by 2045. Every (1) BTC has 100,000,000 satoshis (SATS). If this happens between today and 2024, BTC @ $1 mill would equal 🟰 $1USD per SAT…it would be the PERFECT decentralized source of spending and storage of value

I think we need something halfway to a SAT: An MSAT: MegaSatoshi At the .0001 which is halfway as small as Sat: .00000001 So 10 MSATs, does this sound better than .001 BTC? Eventually, yes we go full Satoshi, maybe eventually a couple decades after that, we go microSatoshi ISAT?

>No one needs a full share of a stock and yet stocks splitting do have a material impact on the price That is to make a stock more accessible for people who can't afford investing $1000 into a single stock unless they want to own fractional share. IF the smallest possible BTC unit, 1 SAT, cost $1000 then you'd have a point. However, 1 SAT is less than a cent so not being able to buy a full 1 SAT is nothing that prevents people from purchasing BTC.

Just a thought - Looking back the past few years conversations were always based off units of bitcoin. Recently I see most conversations are in 0.x or 0.0x or even 0.00x bitcoin. Thinking in a few years "satoshi" or "SAT" as a unit will become a norm just blows my mind. Although I know this mainly contributes to the value of fiat comparing existing value of bitcoin. But looking at the current trend (decreasing value of fiat & increase value of bitcoin) I do see this happening soon.

the term "logic" is unfortunately used in various very different meanings. Can say that any code is the "logic" of the program it represents. Similarly in hardware design they call "logic" for circuits of logical gates. But this all is very far from what we mean. We mean logic in the sense used in the field of mathematical logic. For example, first-order logic. There are existing logical AI applications out there, most notably SAT solvers, SMT solvers, and automated theorem provers. In fact, databases are already a form of logical AI in disguise. There are many forms of logical AI, per each logical language, roughly speaking. There is a lot to say about the subject. Please have a look at the points mentioned here and please come back with additional questions, e.g. in the telegram group or in the monthly Q&A.

I am very much newby to self custody and this is Interesting, and makes sense..How does one determine the value of a bitcoin without fiat? The day will come when SATs replace the fiat as a measure of value, but that may take awhile. Additionally, like it or not one must factor in the collection of taxes, which in the US will require a $ conversion. My thoughts are how amazing it is to be a “whole coiner”, but to have just 1 BTC barely meets the criteria threshold and even spending 1 SAT and you are no longer considered a “whole coiner”. Furthermore, it can be argued that without the ability to spend even a single SAT or factor in the value/$/sats needed to cover taxes a person is truly not a “whole coiner” free and clear. Maybe one can be considered a “gross whole coiner” compared to a “net whole coiner” who can spend some and still have 1btc. The not your keys not your coin is something we can all agree on.. if the government can confiscate it then it’s not yours. So maybe there is levels, tier 1 self custody having a cold wallet with a 1 BTC balance is the best truest form of”whole coiner”. The etf exposure gets BTC a step closer to mass adoption and maybe the are like tier 4 “whole coiners”.

Realistically I see a SAT being worth about one Yen in the best case scenario - about one penny USD (until the system implodes, then it’s a free for all). That’d put BTC at $1M. Which is probably the 10 year horizon target. Unprofessional opinion just speculating here

Sure, I'll explain it as simply as possible. Imagine you have one big chocolate bar, which is like owning one Bitcoin (BTC). Now, let's say you want to break that chocolate bar into smaller pieces to share with your friends. Each of those smaller pieces is like a Satoshi (SAT), which is the smallest unit of Bitcoin. So, when people talk about SATs, they're referring to these tiny pieces of Bitcoin. It's like talking about how many tiny chocolate pieces you have instead of talking about the whole chocolate bar. Buying SATs or accumulating them is like collecting these tiny pieces of Bitcoin over time. Some people like to buy SATs because they might not be able to afford a whole Bitcoin, but they can still own a small piece of it. So, buying SATs is just another way of getting into Bitcoin, even if you can't buy a whole Bitcoin at once. It's like saying, "I might not have the whole chocolate bar, but I still have some delicious chocolate pieces to enjoy!"

Sats is short for Satoshi. It is the smallest possible unit of bitcoin that you can buy. 1 SAT = 0.00000001 BTC Some people think that on a long enough timeline we won’t be discussing bitcoins anymore, but Satoshis. As the price of BTC will be too high.

Get with it. Because eventually there will come a time when we won't be talking about the price of Bitcoin as a whole coin. A similar comparison can be made with gold, You rarely see people talk about gold price in KG any more its all about oz. Right now 1 USD = 1600 SATS Or you can look at this like 1 cent is 16 SATS There may come a time when 1 cent will equal 1 SAT (Bitcoin price will need to reach around $1 million for this to happen)

Mentions:#SATS#SAT

Like I could say I’ll charge you 1million SAT for my 8hours of service. Regardless of the value of BTC-USD I have to stick to that number over a long period of time (longer than a day or week or even month let’s say) for me to actually be USING BTC rather than just saying ok I charge $500 usd a day and you can pay me in SAT which one day could be 1000000 and the next 900000 or the next 15000000000… depending on market for BTC at the time of payment, in the end I get $500 Fiat and that’s still how I perceive transactions myself. that would be using BTC as a medium to get to USD and not BTC as a medium for actual use. Am I retarded?

Mentions:#SAT#BTC

I suppose it does but only because I can compare it to USD. For example there is a buy side difference to McDonalds vs Gas. Gas prices change daily based on market value sometimes like over night the price of a gallon goes way up or down while USD stays relatively stable (forget inflation). On the other hand the price of a fast food meal stays relatively stable while the $ also stays stable… now switch to btc. If the price of the burger is measured in SAT and stays consistent regardless of the actual BTC to $ conversion then that’s cool I can wrap my head around that X sat = burger over long time period. But in my mind it gets more complicated when you have a thing like gas that fluctuates daily but then the BTC I use to buy it also fluctuates daily… see my confusion?? End game is BTC is stable across all FIAT and that happens because of adoption of the purchasing parties but ALSO requires sellers to actually list there goods and services in SAT and not SAT based on FIAT. I’m not trying to say anything smart just trying to track if I got the idea right?

Oh my, where to begin! tl/dr; read The Bitcoin Standard (really, that is, read it and you'll understand) But, to address some of your points here... Transaction fees are high right now because of 'bored apes' jpgs and side-chain alt-coin spam (long story). But, they are often under or around $1USD worth of Bitcoin. (The most I have spent in the last few years is maybe $0.65 USD to move some coin or buy something.) That said, the future of Bitcoin fees will probably be relatively high, as the more people that use it, the higher they go (how it will compare to these spam times, is hard to say). That's why there is a lot of effort being put into Layer 2 solutions like Lightning. I regularly 'boostagram' some number of SATs plus a message to my favorite podcast hosts. If often costs 0 or a SAT or two (fractions of a cent). The illustration I like to use is like an ATM w/ fees. If the ATM has, say, $1.50 in fees, you can't easily buy a cup of coffee with it, but you take out $50 or whatever in cash, and then buy the coffee. Same with Lightning. You'll maybe take $100 or $200 off-chain into Lightning and pay the $5 fee or whatever, but then make transactions for almost nothing from there on. The traditional finance system can't even come close to competing with this. You don't need to install Bitcoin Core unless you want to run a node. All you need is a wallet like BlueWallet, for example. Running a node is a good idea to fully participate, or for maximum security/privacy, etc. but it isn't required. You can't cancel your transaction, though if it doesn't get confirmed, you'll get it back. That's why it is important to pay attention to the fees, so that doesn't happen. (Some wallets have a feature to 'bump' the fees up, in that situation.) Decentralized is in regard to control, not anonymity. Yes, this latter aspect is a bit of a problem when dealing with tyrannical governments. There are some solutions (Lightning being partly so, and probably the easiest), but this is Bitcoin's weak spot. But, it is a matter of tradeoffs... coins that solve for privacy, fall down in other regards. Bitcoin is more about being a hard money, than privacy (which is why the crime/fraud thing is such a joke! That some from opponents who don't know anything.). As for mining and wasteful, see my opening point about The Bitcoin Standard. Until you understand how broken fiat is (and how much power it requires!), and how Bitcoin fixes this... you'll not be able to grasp how tiny the amount of power really is in comparison to the importance. (And, yes we do produce the money...not from air, it's complicated, but do you know what money is? again, cf. The Bitcoin Standard... that's pretty much what the book is about.) "Why would any sane person want to deal with it?" Hope (you'll have to read the book to understand) I started off with your first reason... I traded a bunch of coins around. Made a bit of profit. Then I learned about Bitcoin and went all in. As for your second reason, I'm not a criminal, nor using my BTC for anything criminal. I've donated to some podcasters. Bought a couple books and a Bitcoin miner. I'm mostly HODL'ing. I guess some governments think that makes me a criminal?! What I'm primarily bypassing is inflation. Any money I leave as fiat, rapidly loses buying power. But, the ability to bypass the banks is nice, for sure. If I want to send some money to my sister in another country, she can have it in a few minutes, maybe 20 at most. No one on earth can stop it either. If the gov't does declare me a criminal, if I can escape, the Bitcoin will be there waiting wherever I end up. Yes, that does give a bit of peace of mind (especially when the country I live in recently froze bank accounts of people who just expressed support of an ideology). Please read that book, though. I'd say aside from religious texts (I'm a Christian, btw), it would be in the top 5 books I've ever read, in terms of impact and worldview change. Once you see it, you won't be able to unsee it. It is a pretty easy read, too.

The denomination makes no difference to the use case. If we start using 100,000,00 nSATS in every SAT, there would be no problem. We already use milisats in lightning on layer 2 today and it's not an issue. As long as the 21M cap is not violated, there won't be a problem with the supply being "too scarce". That's the beauty of it being digital. It's infinitly divisible, and still just as secure.

Everyone here knows what Sats are, you're clearly missing the point or just avoiding it. Again, to clarify, when people go onto an exchange to buy BTC, do you think the ticker will be changed to SAT to reflect a lower price value or that it will remain as BTC? I think it will remain as BTC.

Dude, I'm going to be nice here but genuinely could be very mean - You absolutely do not understand BTC or Crypto for that matter. You're either 1. looking to scam people / pump bags or 2. Going to lose all of your money. I genuinely hope if it 2 you wise up and actually research things you put your money into. BTC is denominated in SATS this is how the crypto currency works on the transactional level - It was curated this way from inception. SATS are to BTC as a penny is to the dollar. Theyre one in the same, you don't see forex exchanges listing PENNY/EURO do you? its USD/EURO just as its nots SAT/LTC but BTC/LTC or BTC/USD not SAT/USD. TLDR: https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=what+is+a+SAT+in+BTC

We have to stop thinking or BTC or satoshi in terms of fiat currency. However, we cannot do it until we stop tying the economical value of BTC to the fiat system. We will not see such a decoupling until fiat currencies on a global scale are replaced by a bitcoin-based currency. If 1 SAT === USD1.00, then 1 BTC === USD100,000,000.00. So unless 1 BTC is capped at USD1M, the cost of goods and services will continue rising (inflation) as the smallest unit, the satoshi, likewise increases from USD1 to USD1 to USD3...to USD(infinity). While an upper limit for 1 BTC will ultimately be discovered, and it must be found for practical purposes, the smallest unit 1 SAT will potentially price many people out of even owning 1 SAT. The original vision of bitcoin has been lost forever, in my opinion. It was intended as a peer-to-peer trustless payment system which offered people financial freedom in the sense their bank or the government could not freeze access to their own money. Bitcoin seemingly is a way to retire or flaunt one's wealth in its present use as a high-risk investment.

I think you are talking about a problem of liquidity. But this is not a problem. A this time you can already buy a fraction of a BTC and eventually exhanges will change from BTC to SAT to increase liquidity.

> My strategy is to HODL everything throughout the entire bull run and not sell a single #$%% SAT so i can watch the fiat value of my stash dissipate during the next bear market. This will give me the opportunity to feel immense guilt for at least 3 years whilst giving me time to build up the courage to do it all over again.... Do this 2 or 3 times and you'll be happy

Through conventions and events all over the world, meet-ups, time in the space, family, etc.: I am fortunate enough to know a tonne of Bitcoiners IRL. Not a single one of them HODLs every single sat to the exclusion of all else. We just try and stack more than we spend. If I see value in a product or service you offer: I will pay in sats. Whether that is my coffee beans, investing in your company, reading an article, or zapping a post on NOSTR. This "I will never spend a SAT" business, is a Reddit and Bitcoin Twitter thing, IMO.

I tend to think of Bitcoin not as a financial unit, but more as a financial system. 1 SAT gives you access to this financial network as a means of personal autonomy and financial independence. If you want more, buy more. The free market will discover the value of this amazing financial network more and more over the coming years.

BTC priced in SATS? Do you mean to have exchanges show bitcoin pricing using SATS, like instead of 1 BTC @ $34k, we have 1 SAT @ $0.00034559? Dunno abt others, but it makes bitcoin look like a crappy meme coin that can go to zero anytime.
