No, the SEC went after Enigma accused of being a security, so the community (with much of the enigma team) made a community project called Secret that Enigma holders could straight swap their ENG for SCRT. The ability to swap was open for over a year and was plastered over the ENG reddit for that period. Binance and others participated in the swap, Bittrex did not for some reason. There were people left behind that were not paying attention in the bear market or held their ENG on an exchange that did not participate in the swap. Since then ENG users that returned in the bull market found the ENG project had been abandoned, or more accurately, shut down the SEC.

SCRT used to be Enigma and they scammed all their early ENG holders during the token swap, added 100% more coins to circulation and only allowed the swap for a few months. (Coin was two years old at this point and it was a bear market) it was very difficult to find this announcement and it wasn’t sent to token holders, you had to find it. They almost didn’t allow the swap entirely. The team also paid a ~30M fine to the SEC for their token sale. I have had zero faith in them or the product after these failures. They are crooks.

Every XRP clown says this, but I have dug into the lawsuit. Ripple sold XRP to retail and institutional buyers fund their business operations, 98.6% of Ripples income has come from XRP sales. It pays for the multi million CEO salaries, its used for acquisitions who were marketed as beneficial for XRP price. The SEC has already slammed the book on ENG, AMP and others for this very thing. The SEC doesn’t tend to lose these cases and there is plenty of smoke.

I made a decent profit (not a millionaire tho) during 2017-2018 but what I learned was to sell 100% even if you believe in the project. The bear market is absolutely brutal. XBY, ENG, IOTA, ICX, NANO, DBC, etc were all heavily shilled in this sub, alot of people believed in those projects, now look at them now. Alot of those bag holders never came back. People were overleveraged and lost everything. People committed suicide, including some redditors. So the best bet is to sell 100% and buy in at a price point in the future that you can agree with. For example, ETH was at $1000, I sold near the peak, and bought back in during the 2018 bear market at $83. I also bought small bags of the above mentioned alt coins and regret it, didn't know they wouldn't come back in the 2020-2021 bullrun. I also bought some ICOs that were dead from the start. All of them had fancy whitepapers, websites, the tech made sense. The point is, get out and take profits. And only HODL if it's something like BTC. Just my 2c.

Bitcoin Cash at one point had such a fears fight with BTC that few thought it would take over the first spot, specially end of Dec 2017, now only to still be 90% under its ATH. LTC had a much bigger presents in top 10 back then and much more releveance. Zcash and Monero where super big as privacy coins also in top 10 back then. Dash was top notch as well and now no one even mentions Dash and still at fraction of the previous ATH in 2017 EOS no doubt had great plans for the future just like NEO. ENG Enigma was supposed to be the direct competitor to Cardano before it just disappeared all together. ICON was knocking on the top 10 list at one point. Digibyte was always on the heals of Dogecoin. Running up right after the penny coins had their turn. ETN Electroneum was all that and potato chips. Wow this list brings me back. Such a nice walk down the memory lane. Things were wild back then, crazy hyped just like in the beginning of this year before the correction in May. Almost any coins you got back there, had its day, but the list above where definitely top contenders.

Heartwarming story, but you shouldn't have spread that among so many different alts. I did the same thing in 2017, but all of them except ENG/SCRT flopped and I only got lucky on it. If I would have taken the money I spent on 8 million different alts and just put it into ETH or BTC, I'd be a millionaire right now. Instead, I just cashed out $9000 of SCRT from a $600 investment.

WHAT DOES BINANCE CONSIDER "CONSIDERABLE ASSETS"? ​ So I had Binance in January of 2018 and basically abandoned it. I recall having some funds tied up in coins and things and didn't know how to get it out and it was only a few hundred CAD dollars max... if my memory serves me correctly. But honestly it was so far from being important with the amount I remembered having in there, it didn't seem at all worth the effort to get in. I changed phone numbers and that number was a part of my 2 step security process. The security questions about acct details were a total guess and I kept failing. I made a new acct recently because of that. I tried migrating me email to my new account so I can access some features and it said "this email is associated to considerable assets and cannot be migrated" Currently trying to get in the account again and it appeared that I may have actually passed the security and my request for access is being reviewed. I went back to 2018 chats in messenger with the friend who got me into it. Apparently I bought Eth, LTC, Neo, ENG, VEN and XLM. I jwent ahead and looked at price charts and did profit calculators and nothing really indicates I'd have "considerable assets" that I'm aware of. What would binance consider "considerable" amounts ? Is it possible Binance incorrectly valued my account?

Actually, in Spain we have the national product "platano" (plantains in ENG?), that is close to the banana, but we consider them different fruits. Platano is the name used for the local product (mainly from Canary Islands) and Banana is usually for the fruit that comes from Africa or America. One commentator here chewed me out bad for talking favourably about SCRT and his/her reasoning was that back when the SEC lawsuit happened and the ENG team initially said they couldnt do teh swap alot of people sold for literal cents on the dollar figuring they would get something instead of nothing, definitely had to have hurt, especially now lol

I’ve got a few: - Not doing anything after the 2017 bullrun and seeing my portfolio going from +10,000% to -95%. In BTC terms my portfolio is still -50% since that top. I regret not cashing out in BTC - Investing ₿0,1 in Elastos (ELA) which is worth ₿0,002 now - Selling Ethereum at $350 - DCA’ing Enigma (ENG) between 2$ and 7$ and selling for $0,30 in the end. It did a 1:1 token swap to Secret Network (SCRT) which is now worth $6,20 You can say the past 4 years was a learnful experience for me. Fortunately I quickly realized my mistakes and I realized I shouldn’t mess with altcoins too much and started DCA’ing BTC. That turned out to be the right choice

personally I skipped over trading against BTC in 2019 selling my BTC/ETH @ 0.1777 BTC after buying 12 ETH around 120-200/coin and decided to begin only trading against Ethereum as I already envisioned the reality of today back in 2018-2019. trading up +36 ETH on top of my original 12 Ethereum investment via LINK/ETH, OMG/ETH, ENG/ETH(now SCRT) and BAT/ETH.

I had a weird situation. I live in New York, so I can't use most exchanges. I had a bunch of different coins in Binance China. I got an email telling me I basically had 2 weeks to get everything out of Binance before my account was being locked. I received the email 12 days prior. (So I had 2 days to get everything out, for those of you who math) This was when the market was pretty much at its bottom. The fees to get some of these coins out were more than what my whole stack of those coins was worth. I pretty much lost everything on 7 or 8 coins. I am still tracking what I had in an app, and several of those coins are worth money again. Most notable my ENG, and ENJ would be worth a decent amount right now.

The SEC [dropped the hammer](https://decrypt.co/19993/sec-drops-the-hammer-on-enigmas-45-million-ico) on the ENG ICO. This was rather unfair, given that the company had gone above and beyond in attempting to be compliant with the law as it stood at the time (which was unclear, since it was a bleeding-edge space). The Enigma community spun up Secret Network, a new fully decentralized network (that would meet the criteria of Hester Peirce's [safe harbor proposal](https://www.coindesk.com/secs-peirce-updates-safe-harbor-proposal-for-token-sales#:~:text=The%20Token%20Safe%20Harbor%20Proposal,or%20tokens%20after%20raising%20funds.)) and, to ensure that ENG holders were treated fairly, offered a token swap from ENG to SCRT. Enigma the *company* was, for legal reasons, unable to participate in or publicise the token swap (so saying that the Enigma *team* had anything to do with it is mistaken).
