Do you panic sell every time the S&P 500 goes down and tell yourself, "OMG its so risky" and lock in losses? Or do you "cope" by telling yourself (rightly) that it will eventually go up because it has before? When an investment goes down, you have to either tell yourself it will eventually go up because you believe in its underlying fundamentals, or you sell at a loss and move your money to something you believe in. Decide where you stand for yourself. But it serves no purpose to shame people for believing in an asset they believe has long term potential and buying it when on sale.
I suppose that's a reasonable way of looking at it. Another version of "this is normal for bitcoin," as opposed to the "OMG I can't take it. The world is ending if btc doesn't hit an all time high when I thought it would."

I went heavy into altcoins in 2017 and 2021. This time around? I look a look at the top 100 in market cap and all I saw were meme coins, rug pulls, and obvious scams in the making. Was an easy decision to stay with BTC and a little bit of ETH. I also recently looked back at the "hot" alt coins of 2017's run only to realize that almost all of them are either totally dead or have gotten zero adoption: NEM, Bitconnect, EOS, OMG, Neo, Populous, Lisk, Waves, Stratis? Today? All have accomplished nothing or gone bust over the past 8 years.

They were silly to sell. Don’t understand why a small change in pricing warrants any type of fuss. OMG, the sky is falling! I wouldn’t blink at anything less than a 50% pullback, then my tendency would be to buy or wait for a bigger dip or both.
