Current admin is what is representative when refering to "Americans" despite them being 50 nations under one umbrella due to them being the face of it. Plus, I'm pretty sure he isn't a fan of Trump or the takeover of the Republican party by MAGA ideals. America just tends to have horrid track records in that region. There is a decent chance of something equal horrid or worse being born in that region due to these actions, again. Plus, any negative sentiment for Israel will now be aggressively tacked on to America due to their involvement with what is ultimately Israel's attack. Not to mention the severely eroded faith of world power's thoughts on us achieving things through diplomacy. Also, things don't need to be fair, but bombing a school and siding with a genocidal regime is never a good look. Do want to point out that I am not here to be argumentative in a negative way. Just a discussion back and forth. We're essentially on the same page anyway with slightly different views on select things. Heyo, just want to make it clear that this is not a dress-down. But as a former Republican, I can tell you that most of my "deeply conservative" friends are actually raging liberals, in the truest sense and not colored by the American dichotomy. Until you get to one or two wedge issues. A lot of Republicans, I find, still think that the party is a lot like it was under Eisenhower. However, since the Regean era, it has really returned to the McKinleys of the past, which made it so hard for the Republican Party to beat the Democrats after the Great Depression. One could argue that under Bush Jr there was some effort to steer the party away from the McKinlyism in favor of the more liberal (world view) orginization of the economy but 9/11 and the subsequent wars really gave a vehicle for some of the worst aspects of the old Republican party after the realignment that happened post McKinley, and really came to a head under Nixon and Regean, to reimerge and become prominant. Especially after the Tea Party took over, which later morphed into the MAGA movement.
