Real answer. VET and NANO are "dead" if you want to compare to others. BTC is safe, and best in class while going up. ETH is safest alt, and offers APY, but might not be as good as short term BTC. Lot of chains rely on ETH, so it can't die. Buy 40% BTC, 40% ETH, 20% risk if you can pay attention. 60% BTC, 40% ETH and STAKE THAT 40% if you can't pay attention. Come back in 1.5 years. Sell it all. Buy again in the same ratios 2 years later.

You are largely correct, however let me make a few points that are crucial and unfortunately subtle and misunderstood (on purpose?) by the few bitcoiners that bother to understand these issues. First, as anyone who runs a validator knows, PoS does require a "constant capital infusion to maintain your space and hold on network." There is work/cost/effort required the in constant server uptime, maintenance, disk/memory upgrades, electricity, etc. in providing the network service. It's a much lower order of difficulty compared to PoW, however it's actually linked to the service provided: blockchain storage and processing. This lower order of work of PoS allows magnitudes better efficiency for the entire blockchain to grow further at a lower cost economically tied to the service being provided. Long term a blockchain must all be paid for not by token inflation but by economic output of the network (e.g. fees), which is what Ethereum has now done by going deflationary. Bitcoin PoW is not linked to the blockchain at all, instead it's ever expanding effort/work/energy going toward ARBITRARY work, performed by miners competing for an ever shrinking number of new bitcoin. This work is completely unlinked from blockchain growth/usage and is economically irrational. This PoW independently grows and grows, regardless how much the blockchain is used(!!), until one day the number of new bitcoin issued falls low enough the whole thing can no longer be supported and implodes. Right now it's an ever growing sort of "work ponzi" without any plan for how to switch to something rationally linked to the network service. At some point the ECONOMIC LINK between the blockchain growth/usage and the work being done must be made. Bitcoiner push that into the future and never think about it, saying "one day fees will pay for it." And when that point happens, THAT IS PROOF OF STAKE! PoS is what bitcoin will eventually end up at--economic output of the network (fees) paying for the work that manages the blockchain usage/scaling. THAT is the "work" that must be performed and must be rationally and economically linked to the blockchain. Right now with bitcoin this is not happening and is why a network that might do next to nothing still burns energy equal to the output of a small country and is constantly expanding unlinked from network growth. TL;DR: Bitcoin PoW is not economically linked to the network service being provided and is irrational. Eventually existing PoW implodes as new token issuance is monotonically decreasing and cannot pay for the ever-increasing work/energy ponzi. When you examine what a rational work-for-service link that must one day be made, you arrive at PoS (or something very similar).

1) That’s assuming that anyone who buys a POS token chooses to STAKE the POS token. You can’t presuppose intent upon time of purchase. 2) Fine here’s another example. Bakeries don’t have to pay taxes on the cookies they bake at the time the cookies are created. They pay taxes at the time of sale. APR limit is 100 ADA IIRC. No, they are not allowed to stake your ADA if you haven't put it on Binance-earn. See there are two things. 1. You can keep your ADA on Binance-earn. Then they are allowed to stake your ADA and give you the APR. 2. What I am talking about is, you are keeping your ADA on exchange. Now, here, you are not giving them the permission to stake you ADA. You just want them to hold your ADA. You are also not getting any APRs. What Binance may be doing is, They also stake your ADA which I mentioned in the above case-2. They have no permission to do so, but they do, and they keep the entire APR, as you don't even know that your ADA were staked in the first place. Now, staking on-chain by binance is generally safe. It is not risky like lending. But, WHY AND HOW THE FUCK COULD THEY STAKE YOUR ADA WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION? That's the thing. Now, when they stake majority of ADA, and it happens that outflow becomes more than the inflow, then they don't have required amount of liquid ADA, and hence, they have to halt the withdrawals. Algo is great, the fees are cheap. It needs better ASAs than just staking and passive interest coins that end up dropping 98%. Hell I have a perfect example. YIELDLY, STAKE, all og those... I've been rugged by so many ASAs. It was great fun, not gonna lie. But I doubt I'll get fired up over algo until they actually make a use for Algo. It's super fast, it's super cheap, and it's super easy. But it's also super pointless until it's actually got a use case. Sorry, I loved algo and had over 6k algo couple of times... but I do not hold much of it at all anymore.

Scenario 2: In a hack situation, insurance only charged 2% a year on holdings, now 1 million people need to be paid. HOW? Even if you've paid insurance for 20 years, it's still not enough to cover these losses. Over the last few days, crypto watchers have been captivated by two large wallets that appear to be linked, that contain $181 million in ether (ETH). They also have collateral in loans that are right on the edge of solvency. Most of the debts are on the money market Aave (152,098.98 ETH worth $166 million at the time of writing, but the rest is on Compound (14,316.90 ETH worth $15.6M). Why it matters: If the price of ether falls further, these debts will be liquidated, unleashing a gush of ether onto the market, which will drive the price of ether down even further.
