Congrats on the move, it's never too late. ONLY INVEST MONEY YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE. Invest in your knowledge, learn about Bitcoin as much as you can. The Bitcoin Standard book is a must read. Also, **don't reply any DMs**, promising to buy Bitcoin from them or get rich quick and read this short guide, please: **Price wise, nobody knows what the price will be tomorrow, nor next week.** **Try "Bitcoin ONLY" strategy for at least first year**, you'll sleep much better. Newcomers lose so much money, holding garbage tokens just because someone on YT told them to. Going DCA is probably the best approach, IMHO. Bitcoin to me, is a savings account. If I have some spare cash, I exchange it for SATs. Once a week works best for me, but I'm getting paid weekly. If there's a 10% drop in the price since my last buy, I usually double my buy. This [DCA calculator](https://dcabtc.com/) might help to decide what will work best for you. In a few years, even $10 dollars a month can make a massive difference. Now, don't buy a fake Bitcoin at etoro or similar, get the real thing. Register at a proper exchange and buy real Bitcoin. Any of these will do [https://bitcoin-only.com/get-bitcoin](https://bitcoin-only.com/get-bitcoin) Install (or buy - in case you're getting Bitcoin in Thousands of $) one or more of these wallets. A few good wallet choices: [https://blockstream.com/green/](https://blockstream.com/green/) \- Top Security Features, Open Source and Non-Custodial [https://bluewallet.io](https://bluewallet.io/) \- excellent, easy to use wallet, Open Source and Non-Custodial [https://electrum.org](https://electrum.org/) \- Solid choice, Open Source and Non-Custodial, one of the oldest and most trusted Bitcoin Wallets. [https://coldcardwallet.com/](https://coldcardwallet.com/) \- ColdCard is currently the safest and most recommended here. There's also Ledger, but I wouldn't recommend as not fully open source, keep and already leaked customers' details, recently said they're capable or sending customers' keys out just with a firmware update, etc. Stay away. Whatever wallet you'll decide to buy, purchase DIRECTLY from the manufacturer, no eBay, no Amazon. Make sure the device is NOT preset, and you will generate your own seed words. Write them down on any piece of paper as well as the receiving address. Now wipe the wallet and generate a new wallet. If the seed words are different than the first set, you're safe to use it. Find an option to set a passphrase and use it. This will boost the security to another level. Never store the seed words and passphrase together. Use a different medium if possible. If somebody finds both, they'll be able to steal your coin. This little device will hold the keys to your money, that's the reason why you have to be a bit more careful. Also, no worries, if it breaks, you can replace it - as long as you keep your seed words and passphrase(s) safe. Welcome to the rabbit hole and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions anytime during your Bitcoin journey.

Lmao I love the introduction Seriously tho, your son sounds like he’s gambling on high leverage and not investing. Crypto hasn’t moved that much at all to have such results recently. There are financial advisors for crypto all over the world at pretty much every bank or financial institution. They might not know the hottest memecoin but they have a broad understanding of the space and most importantly **KNOW HOW TO INVEST** They’ll help you and your son to create a smart investment plan into Bitcoin that you can observe over the months while you think of future improvement and changes ![gif](emote|emo_pack_1|yeah)

Here is how you can assess a project: * Ready the whitepaper. If at any point you find yourself saying "what does this mean, this is so confusing, this is indeed perplexing?" while reading the whitepaper - that means **YOU INVEST**. If you hear Gary Vee said it was a good project, it's a guaranteed win as well. /s

Always amuses me when I hear influencers telling people to invest in stablecoins. Like why? Why would I INVEST (an activity where I throw money into something with the expectation that it would appreciate in value) in something that best case scenario maintains its price or goes down? Might as well keep my money in cash. “Investing” in USDT has to be the dumbest thing I hear in this space

Hehe ‘ONLY INVEST MONEY YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE’ isn’t very optimistic for investing in Bitcoin. And as we all know investing in Bitcoin instead shitcoins is the only way, how this motto can convince anybody to buy some Bitcoins. I personally invest all I can afford, sometimes more, sometimes less, but I can’t say that I can afford to lose them. It’s my hard worked money, and as I am not so hard wired to huge gains from investing it’s better to spend them for some goods now or later, instead lose them. Right now I cumulate for maybe next year big purchase, I want to buy second motorbike, better for travel, and there is no option that Bitcoin will fall ;). Just my thoughts. Not really meant as investing advice.

Honestly I do both. So I have a very diversified portfolio. Also on multiple CHAINS and this wallets to also SECURE funds if ONE wallet or app is hacked or leaked or phished etc I won’t loose ALL my crypto. I know NEW ALT COINS are risky I think MANY ARE more pump dump.. but that’s BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE Not the COIN… the people want fast money and people who are are loose it for those to gain it who are in large groups or and of large $$$ crypto traders who can MAKE markets MOVE because they can drop $100-$1m+ on one market and it will grow 70% or whatever especially VERY NEW coins like those on Coinbase are OK BUT NOT THE trial coins DONT INVEST in them. The ugh experimental assets.. THEN THERE IS poo coin or even uniswap that have really poor coins or tokens for trade that make people rich if they short or long at leverage at right time.. like any market. Also do you want to TRADE frequently? Or want to HOLD longer term?? As this determine how many stocks you should have … if trading less I’d holding more. Atleast most cases it’s like that. Hope this helped just one person 😚🤟

Thanks for your honestly, but I don't want sell yet until we going to bull rally. Another user suggested me which sell 30 KDA now is... no sense. And also KILT. And especially when we are talking about in a long term. Ofc I will sell them and switching to BTC and ETH, but want to wait a time, I had them since 1 year ago, I can wait longer because I expect have less losses than now, although they will not be profits but less losses would be great appreciated. Idk so much about farming, how to do it, benefits, how it works... And I don't know about ZKSync/Starknet but would to learn about them. By the moment, I will expect before sell in massive losses, talking about these quantities, are massive. But I will purchase some ETH and BTC in the best possible spots after analyze it for a few days. I will start with 25€ I have in Revolut *(purchased on Kraken ofc,* ***fuck to Revolut free plan to cryptos or INVEST IN ANYTHING due their high fees****).*

DO NOT INVEST WHAT YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE. It's incredibly naive to say "I'll just invest 10% of my net worth, that I need back in 2 years, double it by then and take it out". It doesn't work that way. And if it did, you'd be very stupid not to invest 100% instead.

But the energy required to mint a block stays the same right? So as energy costs rise, and Btc value stays the same, that will actually cause a huge drop in demand. If one day I prove a block and get $90,000, and the next day I prove one and get $45,000, I am 50% less profitable as a miner. This will drive mining pools into ever larger groups. Using moar and moar energy. Eventually only governments will have that amount of energy to INVEST in Btc mining. It CAN NOT continue to completion. There MUST come a point when miners shut down, and the network is no longer safe enough.

No offense here but I guess my perspective is so much different than most of the people out there sometimes I can’t even understand what they are trying to tell or ask. I see this kind of questions like “do you think it is crazy to invest BTC, or BTC don’t have any use case” I can’t even find enough common ground to start build up my arguments. And I know this is my problem and I should level up my game and that’s okay so I will try my best :) Of course none of this is financial advice and it’s up to you to do your own research. That being said, I hate the current financial system. I hate it because it expects me to be an expert in investing just to not lose any money to their games. When I say “games”, I mean the credits they are giving for businesses, houses, investments, poor countries, themselves and everthing. None of this credit is an economical decision since there are no cost of creating money out of thin air. And I hate it because it makes the money lose value just while standing there. What I want to do is SAVING and not investing. I don’t want to research to find less risky ways to protect the buying power of the money I EARNED. It is my own money and it’s losing it’s buying power just like that because of some people out there invest something and get a nice low interest loan and bank just create some money or Government create new bonds or Government start giving banks credits to prevent them bankrupt because their older bonds is not earning enough since they increased interest rates to lower inflation and their newer bonds yield much more… Like wtf? And on top of all this is this crazy to put some of your money to Bitcoin? Because what it is very very difficult (almost impossible) for government to freeze your Bitcoin accounts, or Bitcoin doesn’t ask for permission from anyone and allows you to send your own money to anywhere in the world in half an hour anyday and any time of the day? Or is it crazy because Bitcoin has a transparent accounting that you can see what is going on instead of all the transactions done behind the curtain. Oh I know it is crazy because Bitcoin has a money policy that open for everyone to knew what will happen in the next 100 years. Is it Lightining? Maybe easy multisig options?.. Okay okay… I know that I’m being salty here and it is not easy for people to put their hard earned money to such a young thing (Bitcoin is 14 years old by the way) but please keep in mind this “young thing” was like a baby that left in the jungle. There was such high chances that for it to not survive. Not get enough attention, to be stomped on anything that would kill it for good. But as we all know after 14 years starting from literally zero and mined by CPU’s, today people build Nuclear Reactors and use Bitcoin miners to regulate the power generation, there is a country (I know it is small but a sovereign country nonetheless ) accepted it as Legal Tender. This young thing is traded around 25.000$ today and I know it is early but there is such a community behind it they are building, talking, helping and most important growing. Oh boy the community is growing everyday. And their message is crystal clear not like all the other complex financial instruments, “stay humble and stack sats”, “not your keys not your coins”, “bitcoin not crypto”. So my dear friend I apologize from you if I hurt you at anypoint in my rumbling but that’s because of the passion I feel for Bitcoin. Because for such a long time it is the first time I feel optimistic about my own future thanks to the Bitcoin. Thanks to the Bitcoin I can safely SAVE my money and not worry about where to INVEST and maybe earn maybe lose. Yes there are still a risk for Bitcoin to not be with us in the future and I might lose money ultimately but I put my money where my mouth is and I’m happy for taking that risk because this is beyond an investment for me. This is a Barbaric Cry for me to say “Enough is Enough and I refuse to play any of your stupid games anymore. If Bitcoin goes to zero I am okay to die on this hill because at the end I know I tried and I did my best to change something. I run my own node I try to tell other people why Bitcoin is important. And that’s okay. I’m in peace and that’s what is important for me in the end.

Increased prices (proposed taxes for foreigners) will reduce demand. These tourists DO leave money there, though it will probably take for this money materialize. Want to help? Well, buy more, use services more, and even better, INVEST there more. This "shortage" of water, for example, just gives opportunity for these foreigners to create businesses who would create supply. Create deep wells, reverse-osmose sea water whatever! Do what's most efficient and cheap base on the geography. Relying only on government is not a good idea. Goverments usually are the worst implementers of anything, as they neither feel loss due to failure, nor do they get profit (there's no "owner" who gets dividends) for success, as private capital does.

LOL. Every time Bitcoin goes up a bit you start seeing these kind of posts, so all the suckers put money in to Bitcoin, it goes down, suckers get scared, sell not to loose more, and the people manipulating the market buy for a discount. I have two VERY important pieces of advice for you all: 1 - Never listen to social media (in any kind) on what Bitcoin is going to do. 2 - Never follow any random dudes advice from anywhere (specially Reddit). I normally do the exact opposite of what media says, If they say it is going to shoot to the moon. Be weary, put stop loss orders on your assets. It will probably go down. When there is fear and everyone is selling, get your funds ready, buy, and the price will probably go up. Another thing I have noticed is that, If I observe the market, this always is exactly TRUE and goes EXACTLY how I predict. But if I act on it and buy or sell, something else totally different happens and I end up loosing all the same. So the ONLY true advice I can give is: ONLY INVEST WHAT YOU ARE READY TO LOSE. (ALWAYS FOLLOW THIS RULE. NO EXCEPTIONS). Have fun and keep safe.

milking me for what? Had an amazing time playing the dark souls games, or are you referring to microtransactions? Had an amazing fun paying 10 usd to have a battlepass back in the day for dota 2, it added a lot of content to my experience, what's more I stop pirating game since I wanted to give my money to the devs for the great games they made, in the current state nft that are p2e are basically a job since they are no fun to play and you have to INVEST your time to earn money, maybe in the future we have a good nft game but in the horizon nothing new looks good Paying to have good experiences is nothing bad so I don't understund this whole milking thing

The keyword here is INVEST. Not trade. Trading is bad unless you’re a professional and even then it’s scary. Investing on the other hand is a strategy that can actually work for crypto too, believe it or not.

Of course it is. You're just lazy. Get on projects discords where the devs are active in all legit projects. Ask them questions. Read the audits, which are typically written in laymans terms, so even smoothbrains can understand. Understand the tokenomics and fund allocations. Ask yourself why you are even interested in this project and what it has to offer. After that, ask the fricking team what their project had to offer. Ask about the competition. Then go over to the competition and do all the above steps again to have comparable statistics and information. If you either still dont understand or dont have a good gut feeling.... DON'T. FUCKING. INVEST. It's too easy to put the blaim on everybody but yourself.

It's not *just* the stimulus checks. It was a combination of factors: 1. Everyone being locked in their homes with apps flashing their screens with "BUY BUY BUY INVEST INVEST INVEST". There were ads on fucking TWITCH telling people to buy Doge/SHIB. 2. [Personal savings from people skyrocketed and overall people had a lot of money saved up](https://www.federalreserve.gov/econres/notes/feds-notes/excess-savings-during-the-covid-19-pandemic-20221021.html#:~:text=This%20led%20the%20personal%20saving,recent%2C%20pre%2Dpandemic%20trends) since they couldn't go out and spend. 3. Stimulus checks added to 2, giving even more money. All those together either caused or contributed like a radioactive catalyst to the latest bullrun, which also had two tops (something we had never seen before in crypto).

As someone that bought a few bitcoin at $2k…believe me when I say you’ll be fine buying it at $20k. Just as long as you DO NOT INVEST WHAT YOU CANT AFFORD. Not yelling just stressing the importance of being able to wait out the impending market crash this year.

Don't overthink too much. You got the most right and have more basics than the average Joe here. Great, you really want to learn and even just watch charts for better understanding. 👍 2. You should invest when the currency is at it cheapest, but you won't be able to time the market right often. Don't overthink. **Example BTC price @1k**. You buy 1 spend 1000 bucks and own 1. Value increases 50$ = **new price of BTC is 1050$**. This means the value increased by **5%** (500/1000×100). (**Percent is what matters**, not the value in fiat.) If you would have bought BTC @1k price with 500$, you own 0.5 BTC. 5% increase means you have a profit of 25$. Now imagine you would have bought BTC earlier at a **price of 200$**, and like above the **new price of BTC its 1050$**. Your value increased by **850$ profit.** **IT REALLY MATTERS WHEN YOU INVEST** **You won't be able to time the market and by at the absolute bottom**. Best less stress strategy is to dollar cost average DCA. Read about that

Research, research, research. I would say stay with btc, eth, maybe $200 in each, and then keep $100 until you know what you want to do. DO NOT PANIC SELL WHEN YOU SEE -10% -20% -40% DO NOT TRY TO TRADE, YOU WILL LOSE, WAIT ATLEAST 2-3 YEARS FOR THAT. DO NOT TAKE ANYONES COMMENTS AS GOSPEL, INCLUDING THIS ONE. DO YOUR OWN THING. DO NOT RESPOND TO DM’S, ESPECIALLY THE “hello sir, I see you’re a fellow investor…..” blah blah blah. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY. INVEST IN YOUR “20 YEARS FROM NOW” SELF (if that makes sense, basically, play the long game) Good luck!!!!

You’re a young guy, and as much as I love BTC compared to the next guy, nothing (so far) beats good ol’ traditional investing through a Roth or solo 401k and invest into the S&P 500 ETF funds. First you should probably find a job that offers a 401k because in the long run of things its going to make a huge difference. I would also try to contribute as much as possible to a Roth IRA and actually INVEST the money, don’t let it just sit there uninvested - I made that mistake in my early years. And honestly I wouldn’t put any more than 10% of your net worth into BTC. That would be my safest bet. BTC will inly go parabolic IF people buy it. It has the possibility of staying here indefinitely or even going lower forever. Its just hard to say.

And you failed to learn the most important lesson of all: NEVER INVEST MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE. That and the (lack of a) hardware wallet are the two key reasons why you lost everything. From what I read here, you're bound to suffer the same fate in the next bullrun.

Quick! INVEST IN THE FTX BAILOUT FUND!

r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

Everyone has wanted Crypto regulations to come. Gary Gensler has basically spent it holding his dick, shouting everything is a security, and suing anyone that comes near him, even if they are more responsible about the space. Then 4 months after a collapse he's like DON'T INVEST IN CELSIUS?@!?~! All while he's meeting with offshore FTX to probably kill defi or something. i think the space badly needs regulations, especially after the last 6 months, but replace Gary Gensler.

I mean if you want to save it, avoid crypto. Get your parents or whatever to open a high yield FDIC insured savings account. If you want to INVEST it, I’d suggest BTC/ETH, stick to those two and keep it in a software wallet (keep keys safe and don’t be a idiot), I suggest using one on a IOS phone if you don’t have a spare device to use only for it

INVEST WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE, that way, it's less emotionnally straining on you when prices move quickly and you can actually hold for the long term, if you depend on the success of your investment to survive, you won't make it in crypto unless you're super lucky. Time is on your side, just hodling for a long time has proven to be one of the best way to be successfull in the space so buy and hodl! Lastly, don't be afraid to take profit and make a plan, have a clear plan on how you intend on taking profits and follow it, dont get wrapped up in greed once prices start going up.

1-Stop checking the chart every couple of minutes. 2-Keep in mind that you always need to invest what you can afford to lose. 3-Rome wasn’t build in a day, aka it’s a long term game. 4-Best thing you can do at times like this is DCA in from time to time. 5-Stop letting it occupy your mind, spend time with your family and friends. Work on yourself. Expand your horizon. Stop staring at the phone. 6- What I mean by work on yourself is start taking care of yourself. Chances are that you’re probably physically and mentally drained, hence why you’re asking for tips. What I want you to do is start taking care of yourself by going to the gym, staying away from social media, have your dopamine rely on nature and not on socials or whether or not your coin price went up. 7- Life is too short, enjoy it! Oh and I strictly repeat, DONT INVEST MORE THAN WHAT YOU CANT AFFORD TO LOSE!!

Dude, this is the accumulation phase. What do you mean survive? If you invest what you can afford to lose like you're supposed to do, it doesn't matter what price your holdings are at. Investing is supposed to be a long term thing with extra money that's left after paying for bills and groceries etc. If there is none left then don't invest until there is. Address the immediate needs in your life first, aka survive. THEN INVEST

Congrats on the move, it's never too late. ONLY INVEST MONEY YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE. Don't listen crypto influencers, please. Most of them get paid to promote shitcoins. Invest in your knowledge, learn about Bitcoin as much as you can. The Bitcoin Standard book is a must read. Also, **don't reply any DMs**, promising to buy Bitcoin from them or get rich quick and read this short guide, please: Price wise, nobody knows what the price will be tomorrow, nor next week. **Try "Bitcoin ONLY" strategy for at least first year**, you'll sleep much better. A few good wallet choices: [https://blockstream.com/green/](https://blockstream.com/green/) \- Top Security Features, Open Source and Non-Custodial [https://bluewallet.io](https://bluewallet.io/) \- excellent, easy to use wallet, Open Source and Non-Custodial (although, the Lightning part is custodial! - unless connected to your node) [https://electrum.org](https://electrum.org/) \- Solid choice, Open Source and Non-Custodial, one of the oldest and most trusted Bitcoin Wallets. Lightning wallets to consider (cheaper and faster transactions, great for very small amounts): [https://phoenix.acinq.co/](https://phoenix.acinq.co/) \- Phoenix [https://blixtwallet.github.io/](https://blixtwallet.github.io/) \- Blixt - rapidly becoming my favourite LN wallet [https://breez.technology](https://breez.technology/) \- Breez - excellent POS for small business owners as well as integrated Bitrefill or LN Pizza [https://muun.com/](https://muun.com/) \- Muun, simple and elegant LN wallet Hardware Wallets (to store larger amounts): [https://trezor.io/](https://trezor.io/) \- Easy to use, no matter how new in Bitcoin you're. [https://coldcardwallet.com/](https://coldcardwallet.com/) \- ColdCaard is currently the safest and most recommended here. There's also Ledger, but I wouldn't recommend as not fully open source, keep and already leaked customers' details, etc.

I have a number of degrees and know a lot about economics. In the 1980s the con artists tried to push gold STOCKS....not gold itself. I feel that bitcoin is a similar con. Unless you have money to burn...DON'T INVEST IN BITCOIN! One more point. There is little to invest in for the average Joe to make money. Gold itself, does not hold its value (I have it).
