Class of 2017 even though I knew about bitcoin as early as 2012 but my goldbug brain told me “it’s not physical so it has no value” and after seeing China failed at stopping bitcoin in 2017 I saw how robust it was. 2017-2021 playing the “alt coin” casino thinking it would get me “more” than just DCAing bitcoin and was throwing loaded dice with RUG PULLS AND PUMP AND DUMPS. I still have many of these garbage “crypto project” tokens but the market cap for a majority of earlier ones has collapsed and it’s too hard to sell or it’s so low it’s worthless. I got a ton of NFTs too most lost over 90% of its value and never recovered. 2021-2024 I had to save very hard to catch up for lost time and now I have enough to RETIRE EARLY whenever Inhave had enough of the working world. I have had WAY LESS STRESS at work now because I have a financial safety net… I no longer stress about lossing my job and it feels like a weight was lifted off my back. Bitcoin was my tool to retake the value siphoned off from me via a corrupt fiat debt monetary system… I WORK LIKE A BEAST OF BURDEN for 20 years only to be compensated with literal DEBT TOKEN FIAT TRASH that gets devalued at 6%/year in real purchasing power. When other people think that bitcoin is “gaining value,” I reframed it and say “BITCOIN IS RETAKING VALUE that was stolen from the working class and gave it back to those who switched from fiat to a harder/sounder monetary ledger which is BITCOIN. Gold at best just stabilizes/buffers the loses from fiat debasement/thieft… but bitcoin is the ONLY ONE that retakes the value the fiat system stolen from you for the decades you were payed in fiat fugazi “money.”

Yea so my advice to you... as someone who wishes they could go back to being 13 with the knowledge they have now... would be to not rely on BTC for your success. It is possible you could make a lot of easy money from crypto, as many did, but to rely on that for your success isn't foolproof. A lot of things could go wrong with crypto, but maybe not. I would suggest watching the JRE Podcast Episode with Mr. BEAST, the prolific YouTuber. He became obsessed with YouTube content creation at 13... he is now 23 and in charge of his own multi-million dollar video production studio, because he learned how to CREATE value. He didn't find something like BTC and catch a ride on a wave... instead he created his own wave and he can now ride it the rest of his life... because of this he's not so dependent on or susceptible to outside forces for his success. He is controlling his own destiny, and in that way he is as close to TRUE success & freedom as you can possibly be.

Yes I agree about GRT. Its such a useful protocol but it wasnt designed as an investment or money grab like so many other tokens. Same thing with Chainlink. Chainlink is attached to EVERYTHING, its the one crypto Im SURE will still have massive use case 5 years from now and have the Mcap of BTC today. But its performance is so ho-hum compared to pumpers. And since its not like buying a stock where you own shares that grow as the company profits grow, you have to just hope that the speculation around the token matches the rise of utility of the protocol (in the case of GRT and LINK). What im trying to say is that I would invest 50% of my entire investment worth into LINK and GRT if I could actually own a piece of the equity. Im POSITIVE that they will comtinue to be successful. But since we as crypto ppl are one level detached from the actual revenue or profits of the foundation or treasury or developers and instead we are investing in the speculation surrounding the projects purely based on supply demand and at the whim of the tokenonmics and vesting schedules of the insider holders and short attention span of the market, its very tough to bridge that gap. I mean again, CHAIN-FKN-LINK, is a BEAST. They provide the oracle data for pretty much every dang blockchain and dapp and are partnered with the biggest players out there. But if you invested any time AFTER its run from 0.10 to $10 (so basically after late 2020 i think) you have underperforming asset here. For a YEAR so far. Yet, LINK is the biggest most obvious use case crypto. So how to reconcile that? I suppose just HODL. But same thing w GRT. How do we capture the insane value of what it provides and will provide for years if we cant actually invest in “a company” and are limited by the wonky tokennomics and spec issues? Thus the problem with investing in sort of decentralized “ideas” that are INCENTIVE based for validators and devs but not necessarily PROFIT seeking companies. Does this make any sense? Hard to explain. I mean imagine if you could invest in the “company” behind ETH? Id back up the dump truck and beg them to take my money today and return it in 5 years if I knew I had a stake in the EQUITY of it, not just the product. Like owning 10000 ipods in 2005 instead of shares of Apple. Sure, i could have flipped those ipods but who wants to deal with that hustle instead of just buying apple shares back then? Sorry for the rambling.
