If I had to guess - this is the speculation part, while waiting at a rare disease office and perhaps reading up on EGold or something along those lines, next to someone that is more progressed on ALS (Satoshi disappeared ... first...). And remember, ANNOUNCING your diagnosis is on the patient side. Doctors don't announce shit in the US. Hal could have been starting to come down with ALS in 2006 for all we know. Details on the exact progression of his disease is scarce and I, for one, am NOT going to actively hunt for that. But the point remains, there's one more clue: test transactions to and from wallets with Satoshi and Hal were documented. There's enough here to state that Hal knew Satoshi and, I strongly suspect, to have met him. There's also a strong possibility that Satoshi didn't have anyone in his life because none of his Bitcoins have moved. And any movements in the early days could be considered test or just one off transactions. The only correlation that I'm adding to the initial timeline is the possibility of a rare disease. 1. Hal had one. 2. The start time of it is extremely close to the origin of Satoshi 3. Satoshi's ARC (beginning to finite end) matches a disease progression to some degree. 4. EGold ended, then Bitcoin began. For Hal to be talking about EGold, RPOW, Digital Cash and more to someone that has another rare disease and is versed in programming and is also skilled is not an impossible leap.

I have a three prong approach to bitcoin. My biggest investment is over CA$200,000 in ETFs in TFSA and RRSP. They are 'covered call' yield. They pay the profits the 1st week of ever month. I make almost $2000 each month with them. Prong 2 is a 200:1 margin spot trading account. I try to make $100/day with it, but that was hard in Sept. I made over $4,250 in Aug. Prong 3 is buy coin. Have CA$8,000 worth now. I had close to $100,000 but converted it to ETFs to avoid capital gains tax. In Jan/2026 I may convert it again because I will have about $20,000 cap free in my TFSA. The RRSP has a cap of about $50,000, but I need to pay income tax when I withdraw. My ETFs and coin are with Wealthsimple in Canada. My spot account is offshore because Canada only allows 10:1, I think the US only allows 5:1. That may be why the get so many margin calls.

This was so incredibly touching, truly, thank you for posting the link.. Air Force engineer 11 years in CA, many Hispanic friends mentioned how much of a stressfully fast paced struggle American life is, that Mexico was so different and pleasant, like I’ve also heard in Europe where people will work long enough to cover their expenses for the day then go home to friends and family who have been preparing food and just eat drink and dance with music the rest of the day. Throw in the evil cancer that is exploited politics turning everyone against one and other, abusing the crap out of the money printer stealing life from everyone.. This idea you present here is such a wonderful daydream. I aspire to include this in my life one day and hopefully be able to assist others in reaching the same. I will still try to make a difference in my home country but feel it will also be in my cards to opt to an already lovely culture hopefully a couple months a year. My fantasy now is to go and just ask my neighbors there “how can I be of help” (not egotistically like they need it it they’re clearly already very happy as is but just in case there is something I want it to be known I’m more than willing). Maybe contributing to expanding the local community center like their equivalent of our YMCA (in a sense). Love you guys.

We’re actually living proof that it is possible. My partner and I live in San Diego, CA. One of the most expensive cities in the world. We have a child, another on the way, pay rent every month, and we’re making it work right now on about $65k a year. Drawing down 3–4% annually from $2M is the classic “safe withdrawal rate” model. If that’s what you’re referring to with $64k/year. essentially selling off a small % of the portfolio each year to live on while trying not to run out of money. But that’s just one way to think about it. $2M doesn’t have to just sit in an index fund or an account, and be slowly drawn down. With smart allocation and cash-flowing investments (real estate, dividend stocks, even certain businesses), it’s realistic to generate $85-95k+ per year in income while still preserving or even growing the principal. That’s a completely different ballgame from the “spend down” approach. So while I hear you, for a family that’s already doing pretty well on $65k in San Diego, having $2M to strategically invest would actually provide a very comfortable and sustainable life, imo.

I take the other stance - mining bitcoin is a direct function of energy market, combined with compute. It’s directly dependent/pegged to energy markets. Electrons from solar projects in CA are the same electrons from the wind farms of TX. Bitcoin standardizes these electrons into an inflation resistant currency. BTC is tradable energy.

What I like about Avax is they are actually utilizing blockchain for real world use cases. They have added car/mortgage titles to there block chain. I believe they did the car titles in CA. They are involved in gaming, working with banks, and they have all the other blockchain stables (defi/stablecoins). I own solona, made money and think it’s good but something seems special about Avax.
