Ever since I first saw this coin on Twitter, I've been diving deeper into the community. The concept behind this coin is truly unique and has a great backstory. Even Luke Belmar has commented on how the dog and cat trends are over, and it's time for ducks to take the spotlight. Unlike most meme coins, this one has a purpose: the Daffy team will be donating to lost children's agencies once we reach a certain market cap. I've been part of the community group for a few days now. They've been gathering people before the launch to create a massive pump right at the start, which I think is a great idea. I understand the thinking as I grew up in CO and I've been around that mindset a lot. However now that I live in CA most of the people I see leaving are the most conservative ones who can't stand the libs anymore. Wouldn't you want to welcome those types who have had to live under the tyranny of Newsom and can warn of his dangerous policies from first hand experience? CA has the economic tri-fecta of commodities/agriculture, tourism and major ports and has still managed to have a declining population. I’ll still visit there and retain my rental, but what a showcase of mismanagement.

I meant that in order to tax income, there needs to be a significant number of people who have income from jobs as opposed to surviving on the basis of subsistence farming, where they eat most of what they produce. As for whether taxation benefits anyone, it depends on how it is administered. Some of the countries that have high taxes also have the highest rates of self-reported happiness and satisfaction with life. It is widely understood and proven beyond doubt that it is a good thing to invest in the well being of one's own population. In the US there is also a correlation between policies that favor investment in state social programs and higher economic prosperity (CA, NY) as well as low prosperity and low well being in states in the South, some of which even refuse Federal money for social programs. This holds and works in your favor regardless of whether you like it or not. Data doesn't care.

You don't subsidise European protection, the existing deal was made by Americans for Americans. We buy most of our weapons of the US and pay most of the cost of US soldiers staying here. This allows the US to have a much bigger and efficient arms industry and standing army than they otherwise would have, and makes sure no geopolitical opponent developed in Europe. It also means that the armies and logisitcs of Europe are at their disposal at no costs. It also meant Europe has given the US immensely favourable trade deals in return. Perhaps most importantly it creates strategic depth, successfully keeping military conflicts far from the US border. It's in incredible bargain for the US, they are getting much more out of it that they put in. They could never afford the same military and diplomatic dominance without it. This is why it's been a cornerstone of US foreign policy for 70 years regardless of political winds, it's just incredibly dumb to undermine it for a paycheck from Putin. Yeah well I live in CA so this would be me getting taxed at 40%. I’m sorry but 400k is too low of a number to by paying that high of a percentage in tax. I’m all for, and agree with what you’re saying but we need to be raising taxes on the people who are making several million. There are lots of smaller projects that use crypto that get mentioned all the time, they get downvoted specifically in this sub because it only affects a tiny number of people. There is plenty of utility (e.g. recent CA DMV on-chain tokenization of ownership transfers), just not anything that affects millions of users. Predictions markets are fairly big application for crypto, but evehundreds of thousands.
