You misunderstand. Revolut operates in the UK but they don’t have a bank licence here. They operate under an E-money licence. Means they’re not allowed to do certain things (like hold customer deposits & make loans etc) and from a customer POV deposits are not covered by FSCS. (They’re currently licensed as a bank in Europe under the EBA) Although I believe they’re on the brink of securing a full banking licence. They’ve been trying for years.
