A good number of these very publishers come from the print industry. They are the dinosaurs of a past era and who will still cling onto the vestigial of print technology for as long as they can. That they are even online is out of desperation and not choice. So they would most likely to be one of the last to adopt bitcoin lightning and only when forced to. Having said that, we need to understand that companies, organisations and individuals do not necessarily have technology as their modus operandi or core vision/goal. Technology is just a means to an end for most people, and there is really nothing wrong with that. Just a tool. Payment is just that as well. They want the end result and couldn't care less the process. Whichever is cheaper and easier wins the game. Bitcoin is to most people a novelty, if at all, a form of payment system. So until some major financial institution adopts it OR somebody come up with a company with enough clout to push for mass adoption, it is not happening anytime soon. It's just like digital music and video. Rudimentary tech to listen to music on pc was already there. But there's no content and raw pcm audio was huge. So when fraunhofer developed mp3 codec and solved the size and encoding problem, all it took was for a company like napster to use mp3 to bridge content with user. And the rest is history. Companies jumped in and by the time dust settled in the court room, digital music was here to stay. Apple came onboard with an iPod and their own encoding AAC for audio, and with their loyal user base, was able to cut a sweet deal with label companies. A deal that is what bitcoin lacks right now. Imagine if a company like Apple adopts bitcoin for Apple Wallet/Pay? Major vendors will jump in to support it. Online merchants like Amazon, netflix, disney, walmart, etc etc and mobile phone companies like Samsung and the rest of the Android phones will not want to lose out. And the press will herald it as a magical invention from Apple. That Apple has did it again, showing us what we didn't know was missing, Bitcoin payment.
