Unpopular opinion - banks like BA are doing crypto a huge favor. Can tell you "from a trusted source" crypto is still a taboo topic in banking and just because of this we don't see banks monopolizing the space. Events like FTX collapse are great for bitcoin - they are very strongly reinforcing the taboo and the "I told you so" in senior management will keep their hands out of the industry for years to come. When they realize what happened it will be too late.

> Lido continue to be the dominant staking force in the market with approx 30% of the total staked ETH. This is why you shouldn't be encouraging people to stake with them. If Ethereum loses it's credible neutrality and decentralization then the chain has no value, and therefore neither will the ether that you stake. Lido are bad actors in the ecosystem (despite the fact that many of their node operators are not. Their DAO is a joke, with 3 accounts ( [0xb842...82B0](https://snapshot.org/#/profile/0xb842aFD82d940fF5D8F6EF3399572592EBF182B0), [0xE017...4e63](https://snapshot.org/#/profile/0xE017a4e967c9939d01628E805DC0CC3370184e63) and [0x8b16...765B](https://snapshot.org/#/profile/0x8b1674a617F103897Fb82eC6b8EB749BA0b9765B) ) having enough combined power to decide any outcome. Worse still, they openly state that they think staking on Ethereum should be ["managed by professional operators"](https://twitter.com/marceaueth/status/1580630154597974016?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1580682894715932673%7Ctwgr%5E1494d36da145867957c94b75d2c70d7b1ca30722%7Ctwcon%5Es3_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fbitcompare.net%2Fpost%2Flido-co-founders-comments-on-solo-staking-receive-backlash-from-ethereum-community). They [voted against self limiting](https://snapshot.org/#/lido-snapshot.eth/proposal/0x10abedcc563b66b1adee60825e78c387105110fa4a1e7354ab57bc9cc1e675c2) themselves when the potential centralization risk was first [raised](https://notes.ethereum.org/@djrtwo/risks-of-lsd) months ago, and it's my belief that they will continue to justify maximizing their growth and profits over the health of the network. If they cross 33.3% of the total number of validators I think the community will start having serious conversations about using a soft-fork to exit Lido's stake, which will be made even more messy by the fact that they have entangled themselves with a couple of Ethereum's client teams. TL:DR - Fuck Lido, hopefully they don't end up being an incarnation of Moloch that we have to slay.

Because is being censored. BA TUM TSS

Official statement: One of our admin’s wallet addresses was compromised. This wallet managed the RBC/BRBC bridge and staking rewards. We suspect it was malicious software that was used to get access to the admin wallet's private keys, and around 34M of RBC/BRBC were sold on Uniswap and PancakeSwap, which resulted in the dip of the token value. Rubic.exchange continues to work without interruption and your staking funds are safe. None of our contracts were exploited, rather it was the private keys of the wallet that were compromised. It is important to note that none of our contracts allow users’ funds for swaps or staking to be moved to unintended destinations. Your funds are always safe. The team is dealing with the situation and we will keep you updated on our next steps. Staking rewards will resume in a couple of days. I did mention that caveat in my response already on whether the markets care anymore. Although I will say that the re-emerging strains in China are having a large impact on supply chain management across the globe. China usually shuts down the whole area and performs tests etc. Impacting recovery. South Korean exports are also suffering due to BA5 variant so it’s still not insignificant I would say.

ALL of them are career politicians making 6 figures! I make 6 figures! With a BA degree! Please show me how he is supporting far right extremists! Please show me some videos of him being like trump! Likely need a masters in computer science or similar degree to adjunct. Maybe a BA and a decade of work experience could get you an adjunct in some schools. I adjunct with just a BA and work experience but that’s because the field I teach in doesn’t offer much in terms of masters degrees and only a handful of PhD programs in the entire world. My hunch is that for computer science related fields (blockchain) you probably need a PhD to become full time or tenured, and at least a masters to teach adjunct.

The reason for the Market Crash is clear and simple. The phlebiac indicator snoozed to build a tooth and banana pattern, because the Slipper Bounce Diarrhea was above the MILF but closed just almost barely under the Booga Gnarls. This resulted in a Fun Circus built by the NSA. So as soon as the Sigma-Beta Gland Chakra crosses this line once again or maybe not, we are free to move either up or down in the Snickers Quantum Accelerator, resulting in markets to stop existing. Finally. No fucks given. Fnord. BA is really easy guys. Hail Diskordia!

The biggest education problem crypto has isn’t due to crypto itself, it’s due to the general lack of mathematical knowledge of the population. I graduation magma cum laude with a mathematics degree. My coursework included number theory, abstract algebra, combinatorics, and cryptography. I still struggle understanding some white papers that are advanced. Educating people so that they can understand deeply about the blockchain, cryptography, and the monetary policies that lie underneath it requires educating the population to a level of at least a BA/BS in mathematics, computer science, and finance/economics. This stuff isn’t easy to understand at all and requires a very solid foundation before getting into advanced ideas.

The problem is everyone wants to go to fancy private big name colleges, and live away at school. I did community college, state college for my BA, then when I got a job, they paid for my masters plus 60 graduate credits. And guess what? I work with people who went to big name schools, and we have the same job making the same amount of money.

This guy doesn’t account for population growth, change in quality/production costs, and demand for certain goods. For example, in 1959 the US population was 177 million. Today it’s 330 million. Double the people all fighting for homes (if you live in a city) in generally the same space. Demand is also important. Back in 1959 a college degree wasn’t as necessary as it is today. Back then you could graduate high school and earn a decent wage for you family. Today, the only jobs that pay a good wage require a BA and maybe even a Masters. What this guy also doesn’t talk about is the costs of basically everything (except homes, education, and health care) all went down on a real basis. The things that have increased in price have gone up less because of inflation and more because they are inelastic and demand for those things increased. Blaming inflation for all of this is kind of misguided.

The beauty of a free society is you get your own opinion. I've seen the video and what it does is **start** with a conclusion and work **backward**s. The person who did that started with the idea that they were white supremacists and used every dumb, loose, stretch they could to "prove it". There is so much obvious bullshit that it's self discrediting. I'm not only cultured, I'm extremely well versed in WW2 as it was my fucking job for a decade. Here's a example of the dumb bullshit that is in that "expose". There is a patch with the monkey skull that says BA and YC on either side of the skull. It looks **EXACTLY** like many famous outlaw motorcycle club logos and is arranged IDENTICALLY. It's clear that this was the inspiration. Have you for one second considered that looks almost exactly like the Hells Angels or Bandidos logo (minus the color)? Furthermore, the logo they compare it too was never seen in WWII. That logo was never, ever, used by the bad guys in WWII. They used the totenkopf skull a great deal, but that arrangement with the words and the letters surrounding the skull was made up by someone in our times - it is c**ompletely ahistorical** in that arrangement. I use that example as one that has a simple explanation (it looks like is belongs on a leather vest for a motorbike gang) but dumb folks accept them taking german wwII images and arranging them in a way that is historically inaccurate means it's white supremacist. Then there's the whole Gargamel thing which reeks of bullshit. Guess what? Because one french sociologist called Gargamel an anti semitic trope doesn't mean it's true. That's dumb logic. The cite wikipedia where one guy - who no onw knows - says it's true. So it's true? That's called opinion, not evidence. Then there's the pickelhaube helmet, which is associated with WW1 germany and has no credible association with the bad guys from the WWII. Another case of using some thing that sounds credible to a dumb person but doesn't make sense. They had many "military" inspired Apes who had hats and helmets from different regimes with different political ideologies. Also, tying pepe the frog in is done to try to make it extra evil. Those are 3 simple explanations that suggest that "expose" is bullshit. I looked at it with an open mind, and again, I've concluded it is complete bullshit based on logic and scrutiny. Every person is allowed their opinion, that is mine.

So the autographed sports memorabilia market is prob whatever billions per year, yet autographed sports memorabilia does not have inherent value. It has theoretical value or sentimental value, but not an inherent price we could objectively agree on. When you break down the value of a stock (vs crypto) it’ll have _figures_ that give an absolute value. You could say book value or assets minus some cost of liquidating. Assets is easiest. It’s an objective number. Just imagine the cost(figure) of all the stuff the company owns. We don’t need any charts or trading history or anything to establish this value. Add up all the planes at Boeing and the company is at least worth that right? We can agree? Now let’s do BTC. We could be here for hours, get it? The company _value_ (price) is tethered to _some number_. A figure. We can point to it and it wasn’t made up nor reliant on a past value. It’s just the price of all the assets added up. Just go with it for a sec. Assets cost money because they make something or make something easier. If planes sell for 1mil and BA has the equipment in place to make them for 800k and sell 10/year they produce in cash 2mil per year right? We have some objective numbers to work with when we bid on the price of a given company now. Putting it in extremes: imagine NVDA were trading at a price to asset ratio such that I, personally, could buy the entire company, the price to asset would be something like .0000001:1. I’d be able to easily sell it for that 1 in the ratio and I’d be rich immediately because ppl doing the math who can actually use the factories NVDA owns think “it’s currently worth at least the price of its equipment, storage, and factories.” and they’d buy it. And the price per share that would equal all those factories is thousands of times more than the price I would’ve paid. There’s no equivalent figures or prices to compare in the crypto world. I’m going on and on about “figures” and “numbers” for a reason. There are two essential components that make up a stock price (lots of things contribute but at least these two must be present for price changes): 1. whatever price we all agree constitutes fair value if the company were just vacant tomorrow and everything had to be sold off and debts paid. 2. The _expectations_ going forward on the revenue they’ll hopefully create from sale of products/services. 2 components. Now crypto: there’s no figure other than the market cap and the chart and derivative prices etc. - to use to judge a “fair value”. It’s just us arguing about whether it visits old highs (technicals) or gets used in the distant future for getting bj’s in the metaverse. There are no FIGURES to compare the market cap to. Remember above, where the NVDA price dropped low enough for me to buy the whole company and flip it overnight? Imagine BTC drops low enough for you to own every single one…who tf do you turn to to sell it and what’s your pitch? “It’s clearly worth _at least_ x” How’d you come to that _fig. ure._? If you could buy a leading company for x and x is drastically below the asset price you can point to that when selling it. What’s the “asset price” of BTC? If you had to sell it for 1bn vs NVDA for 1bn which would be an easier pitch? So you see we only have component #2 fulfilled from above, and poorly. NVDA has a revenue and/or asset figure. Crypto doesn’t. It fulfills rule #2 by being based on _expectations_ but what _figure_ are those expectations based on other than past price performance? When time to bid comes, the investors who can utilize NVDA’s assets to actually generate more money than the company is priced at, will buy it when it gets low enough that it’s demonstrably cheap. The figure for one is less than that of the other. They have proof it’s cheap. When crypto comes up during the fake auction we’re having, the investors from above are grilling you: do you have a figure on how much the BTC can make per year, and or what if they stop making that much? If we have to liquidate all of Bitcoin how much would it be worth? How much did you say it was they make per year? So: new information can’t do the same thing to crypto that it does to stocks. Theres no “news” that might change the figures used to analyze the price. The figures don’t exist for crypto. Yet. All this being said, I personally believe in blockchain technology as I understand it. It’s just that it currently has no inherent value. And lots of things stay priced high w no inherent value anyway. Remember the autographed memorabilia. No inherent value, yet not going away anytime soon. TL;DR “news” to a stock is about how the money they generate via producing goods/services might change. Crypto doesn’t produce any good or service, therefore there is only the expectations of future value. These expectations are still theoretical. The money used to buy crypto isn’t theoretical.

>You don’t understand basic economics because if you did, you wouldn’t shit on btc LMFAO....I have a BA in Economics dipshit. You don't even understand what a price floor is and that useful tangible things have a value because they are useful (like your stupid as fuck example of real estate having no value beyond what people will pay for it....there is the simple fact that it's a dwelling, the location of that dwelling, the amenities in the area of that dwelling.......) There are multiple schools of thought, you think you understand economics because you read a book by Saifedean Ammous and joined a cult, a book that is full of basic flaws in logic, factual errors and "Corrolation=Causation" fallacies. You are free to subscribe to his nonsense if you want to, and I'm not going to debate his frame of view with you but you should really go read the critiques of his book and get another frame of reference. You won't though, because you are in a cult 🤷‍♂️🙄 I'm done with you now, this has been like 4 responses full of goal post shifting, ad hominems and deflections with no response to my question, so I'm just going to add you to my block list. Ta-Ta!

Have they ever explained how various components are "peer reviewed." I'm sure everything that gets to production in Ethereum and Bitcoin has been reviewed multiple times. I wonder how those processes differ from what Cardano is doing. I think Charles was seen as some kind of academic math/science genius when people thought he had a mostly completed doctorate (as opposed to a partially completed BA) so he was able to get away with making scientific claims that are largely meaningless-- or at least ill suited to the domain -- in practice.

This has something to do with Trusting Trust attack. See original paper by Ken Thomson: [https://www.cs.cmu.edu/\~rdriley/487/papers/Thompson\_1984\_ReflectionsonTrustingTrust.pdf](https://www.cs.cmu.edu/~rdriley/487/papers/Thompson_1984_ReflectionsonTrustingTrust.pdf) I.e. let's say you want to run bitcoin. How do you (or even bitcoin developer) know that it's not malicious. First we have to check it's source code and see if there is anything evil there. But even if everything looks fine, computers do not run human code (e.g. written in C or some other language). You need to run your source code past a bunch of tools including compiler. So then the question is how do you trust your bitcoin binary. Maybe your C compiler injected something evil into it. Well, you can look at compiler's source code but then again, you actually run compiler binary and not compiler source code. Maybe your compiler binary tries to detect that it is compiling the compiler and backdoors it. That way backdoor will only be present in binary code and never in source code. You can solve this by bootstrapping. I.e. build everything from as small binary seed as possible. Hopefully small enough that human can go over it and check it manually. **stage0-posix** is a project that starts with 357 byte hex0 binary and 757 byte kaem binary. kaem is a trivial shell, so it can run other commands. hex0 language is basically well commented machine code that can look like `# :_start ; (0x8048054)` `58 # POP_EAX ; Get the number of arguments` `5B # POP_EBX ; Get the program name` `5B # POP_EBX ; Get the actual input name` `B9 00000000 # LOADI32_ECX %0 ; prepare read_only` `BA 00000000 # LOADI32_EDX %0 ; Extra sure` `B8 05000000 # LOADI32_EAX %5 ; the syscall number for open()` `CD80 # INT_80 ; Now open that damn file` `A3 55810408 # STORE32_Absolute32_eax &fin ; Preserve the file pointer we were given` So hex0 converts this type of code into machine code (by stripping out comments and combining hex letters into single byte, e.g. "58" becomes byte with value 0x58). Then it goes on to build more advanced tools, hex1, hex2 and finally a simple macro assembler M0. The next stage is cc\_x86 compiler which is a subset of C compiler written in assembly. Finally stage0-posix builds M2-Planet (subset of C compiler written in C). Finally stage0-posix builds a few useful tools like untar. ungz and sha256sum. **live-bootstrap** builds on top of stage0-posix and keeps building stuff until we reach GNU C compiler and beyond. You can find the components that it builds here [https://github.com/fosslinux/live-bootstrap/blob/master/parts.rst](https://github.com/fosslinux/live-bootstrap/blob/master/parts.rst) All binaries are built reproducibly and always have identical hashes. Now this excludes Trusting Trust type backdoors not just in compiler but also in other tools such as shell, build systems, and other utilities. Except for the OS kernel. Both stage0-posix and live-bootstrap need Linux kernel to run on. So there might still be hidden binary backdoor in the kernel. live-bootstrap rebuilds linux kernel from source at some point in the sequence but it still needs one to begin bootstrapping. Here comes **builder-hex0** project that was recently announced and it is a very small (but also very slow and limited) x86 kernel written in hex0 language and stage0-posix can run on top of it. However, builder-hex0 can only run stage0-posix and can't go much further in bootstrap chain. So right now Linux kernel can not be build via builder-hex0 and Linux kernel still has to be trusted not to include binary backdoors. Still it's a start of kernel bootstrapping even if it's not complete (as the original post might be implying).

From looking at Tron’s own whitepaper they use a delegated proof of stake consensus in which there are only 27 block producers for at least six hours until the 27 producers is refreshed based on delegated tokens. All of Algorand’s token holders can be selected as block producers based on a randomized lottery. No one knows who is producing or validating blocks until after the fact. The chain has had zero downtime, and there’s no conflict of block producers or competing forks. Randomly produced, randomly validated, and finalized in 4s now, with 2s finality eventually coming. The guy that has over 50 patents for practical use regarding encryption, digital signatures, and zero knowledge proofs and who’s been teaching cryptography at MIT since 1983 made Algorand. If there’s literally anyone who should design a secure chain it’s him. But yeah Justin sun seems cool too, he has a BA in history

Disclaimer: I didn't study BA I have troubles to talking about the concept of money with people who seem to have studied BA(Business Administration). The last one pointed my to some macroeconomic interpretation of money (money is used in a economy for bla bla bla). Yeah sure, but what's the concept of money about? He even denied that there is a connection between this interpretation and the history of money. It's really sad that so few people even care about basic concepts like money. But it's also a bit funny, seeing what you conclude, that they (and their systems THEY created and control) are removed from all reason. Time will at some point show that this just doesn't work. I could continue but this is enough for now

Algorand's promise to tackle a trilemma is good and all. But I do have some brewing skepticism about the project after reading the above posts and doing preliminary research; bear in mind that I am not a software developer nor a trader and my accolades can be easily described as modest at best and "wall of shame" at worst. Several keywords as a preface to methodology for preliminary research from existing studies include *byzantine fault tolerance (BFT) protocols* popular in proof-of-stake projects and *byzantine agreement (BA)* that is currently utilized by Algorand. [Lepore et al.](https://mdpi-res.com/d_attachment/mathematics/mathematics-08-01782/article_deploy/mathematics-08-01782-v2.pdf?version=1603252080) on section 5.4 describes pure proof-of-stake as "untested." I would read the above article as referenced... but it is quite unfortunate that I have no access to the full paper; hence, my conclusion is to look elsewhere. The security analysis on 2019 by [Conti et al.](https://arxiv.org/pdf/1901.10019.pdf) had surmised that it is possible to simply just corrupt the small number of honest nodes in order to initiate an attack to delay the message (probably read that wrong, but give me some time). The attackers can just use TOR to mask themselves (at least that is what the paper had suggested). On a further reading, I have come across this relatively less difficult table to read on comparison of consensus protocols by [Xiao et al.](https://arxiv.org/pdf/1904.04098.pdf) on the Appendix section, specifically on Table III and Table IV. I'm still reading up... preliminary findings and all. I have to Google up other stuffs again to further my understanding about the paper. Again, I have zero knowledge on computer science and limited understanding on their practical use; as such, take my interpretations with a grain of salt.

Arguably not everyone in the industry agrees with you. Many places of work require a BA or higher for a management position. Even with years of experience, it comes down to comparison on paper. Similarly if you are looking to move abroad, work visa applications in some countries still grade you basis on school results etc. I am too an exception to the rule, but I do not want to give the image that it’s the same as having a diploma. Either path come with its own challenges and benefits.

So stocks I’m looking to buy are AMZN, KO, BA, DIS, and FUN. (Amazon, Coca Cola, boeing, Disney, and cedar fair). As far as price targets go I don’t really have any, I’m just waiting to assess the impacts of the next couple FOMC meetings, because if the fed raises rates at both we won’t be close to the bottom yet imo. As far as cryptos go, just BTC and ETH although I do have a bag of ADA. Anything under 30k is solid for BTC and anything under 2k for ETH. Although I think we still have a ways to go before we hit bottom
