Please stop using “trading” as a synonym for “gambling addiction.” They are not the same thing. What you are describing sounds like compulsive gambling/speculation through financial markets, not simply “trading.” Does your BF actually know his average R-multiple, win rate, expectancy, maximum drawdown, risk per trade, and have a tested strategy with defined risk limits? If neither of you knows any of that, then the issue is probably not Bitcoin or trading itself. He is effectively gambling with a brokerage/exchange account and trying to trade his way out of previous losses — which is a huge red flag. Do not trade BTC - the Vol makes the temptation great, but the best strategy is simply HODL and DCA. Does your BF have any holdings or position in BTC that offset his debt? Or real estate equity? Some poeple have an allocation of play money that they can affort to lose - and its still a gamble, but at least its capped and controlled. This sounds like a gambling addiction and yes the highs and lows a person goes through can be devastating and gut wrenching. He needs to stop that. Good luck.

I mean… U+20BF(₿) is already a standard Unicode.But I don’t have € on my kb because I’m in the US, so I have “$” bc it’s the local currency. As much as I believe in bitcoin, it’s hard for me to imagine it as the “so dominant local currency” that it would affect things like operating systems and physical keyboard key production. Regardless of how bit may dominate any financial landscape, I still think local countries will have their own currencies. So until bit becomes an inescapable global phenomenon or your local currency is supplanted by bit, I think we’ll have to rely on the Unicode character.

Last one were of course the proposal to tax unrealized gain on crypto. US under biden is moving towards "unfriendly" to crypto...
