More fun 2032 facts: 99% of all Bitcoin will have been mined. The block reward will fall below 1 whole coin For the next century, miners will be competing for that last 1% plus transaction fees. The last block reward will happen in 2140 AD and after that, miners will compete exclusively for transaction fees.

Ahh man.. the heritage 2 is awesome.. I can’t see myself leaving the Breitling eco system there’s so many nice watches for not too unreasonable prices. I’m looking at either a 36 chronomat or a 36 orange/turquoise dial superocean for the wife. I want to give her an AD experience so will try pick one up abroad so I can get the tax back!

So regarding the watch - I became a fan of Breitling having checked out an AD in vegas. I was ogling over the SuperOcean and Navitimer. I then said to myself that one day I’m going to buy myself one of these watches. I love how much history the Navitimer has as a functioning utility watch for pilots who used it to figure out air speed, fuel consumption and other mathematical calculations they needed to make on the fly. I don’t think this is a watch people buy to look rich. If I wanted to do that, I’d have bought a Rolex GMT Master 2 or a perpetual day date both would have stretched me way past my comfortable budget and would have given that perception of fake rich. My watch was a personal gift to myself for a very successful year in software sales :)

Mentions:#AD#GMT

Super Bowl AD fortune favors the brave

Mentions:#AD

Alright that's fairly reasonable. When you said half a coin I was thinking that translated to the watch price, but presumably you're saving some of the proceeds for taxes and other purposes. And if you can get it within a month from an AD, then I can't blame you for jumping on the opportunity. I hope you enjoy it!

Mentions:#AD

Reference no 336934. And yeah, retail is inbetween 20-22k. And my AD has confirmed it’ll take two weeks to a month maximum, given my purchase history. Could’ve considered going gray but can’t take a risk with these superclones around. As for the other stuff, yeah I’m super careful. The hardware wallet is safely kept away. And to be honest, even I don’t know the exact amount of btc I’m currently holding. Just have been more concerned with adding to the portfolio every month, for the better part of the last decade. Goodluck with your grail watch, sir! 🫡

Mentions:#AD

Which reference? I see a lot of references available for 17-22K so you must be going after one of the pricier examples. Are you going grey or trying to buy at an AD? If the latter, I'd at least get an idea on timing and feasibility before raising the cash. It's impossible to tell whether it's a reasonable move without knowing your full financial situation. I'd personally be hesitant to buy a watch that's more than 10% of my annual income. I'd also be hesitant to buy a watch that's flashy and recognizable, and certainly would avoid mentioning bitcoin while out and about, especially if I haven't set up a duress wallet. Luckily, all my bitcoin is sitting at the bottom of the Gulf of America so I'm also considering what my grail watch should be and will probably eventually splurge on it. As long as you're careful with your personal and financial safety, I don't see a problem with buying a grail piece. Watches are enjoyable and Rolexes, in particular, should hold their value relatively well. It will underperform bitcoin over the long run, but I don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying the fruits of your previous financial sacrifices, within reason.

Deflation is natural. Central planning in the economy never works, never has and never will. It distorts the economy and makes it difficult for businesses to plan and make financial decisions. These decisions should not be left to a small group of people. Do you not see the debt bubble that we’re in now? When has the Federal Reserve ever actually hit their 2% goal of inflation without moving the goal post and changing the definition of inflation that they measure? It gets harder and harder each year. More inflation is needed to service the inflation from the past. It’s a never ending cycle. Governments will always press the red button to create more money and save face. Empires have fallen every time the government takes total control over the money supply. It was the case back in 1200 AD with the Song Dynasty and their jiaozi, the case with the Roman’s and their skimming of gold coins, and it’s the case now with every government’s own fiat currency. The rate of currency failure due to hyperinflation has increased since the world went on a fiat standard. I highly suggest watching “What’s the Problem” by Joe Bryan on YouTube as he explains the problem with fiat currency and inflation very well.

It's probably possible with current tech, but you'd have to assemble the equipment. This is country-grade costs. Elon musk could probably afford it (We've seen that he is willing to spend many billions on toys such as twitter). Don't give him ideas or we'll have an X logo on the moon or worse. Whatever structure that can do something like that isn't going to be mobile. It'll be huge and require a small power plant to run it. So you can only display it for limited regions of the earth. And after spending so much money, turning the moon into an AD could trigger hippies beyond peak 70s activism and they may raid your huge projector, turning your investment to dust. Nice creative thinking though.

I can tell its not a scam. If you do some research its launched By "Internet Computer" team Dfinity. Its the same concept as PI and their whitepaper is much better in long run. 1. 350 000 new users in 1 month, only 0.5% of the supply mined so far. ITS that still so early! PI network for comparision have 15 million users now... 2. Clean interface, its mining 24H by simply watching 1 AD a day, no battery consumed, just like with PI 3. Its verified and up in App store for IOS. Still only APK for Android. 4. Only downside is you need invite to join. This is partially true. After the 2048 AD halving, transaction fees will regularly surpass the block reward fee. So for that last 40 years of the last Bitcoin getting mined, orders of magnitude more than that will be rewarded in transaction fees. And in 2138 AD, after the last satoshi is minted and rewarded, there will be no more Bitcoin to be mined and henceforth miners will be rewarded with transaction fees alone.

Mining fees are low right now. Just looking at a few recent blocks, the coinbase reward for 883254 was 3.17674501 and the block reward now is 3.125 which makes the fee reward 0.05174501 For block 883253 the coinbase reward was 3.18862672 which makes the fee reward: 0.06362672 The next halving, the block reward will be 1.5625 and then 0.78125. So continuing this progression, in 2048 AD, the block reward will be 0.048828125. It is at this time that mining fees should regularly eclipse the block reward fee. A mere 23 years to go. Happy HODLing!

Cdc ia the shittiest exchange and app ive ever seen. You open the app and first thing you see is a fucking AD! The app is slow and unintuitive as fuck. The silver lining on top. I tried to close my account, but thanks to the spread its impossible, even if you have 0.06 cents in your account they wont let you close it. Which is an infinite loop. You select sell all - due to the spread it will not sell all and youre left with 0.03CRO - now if you want to sell you dont have enough CRO to pay the tx fee - so you have to buy more CRO with fiat - You select sell all - due to the spread it will not sell all..........

You have many misunderstandings about Bitcoin. Mining releases new coins, the block reward, but miners also get transaction fees and will continue to long after the last satoshi is mined in 2148AD. Nodes validate every single transaction in every block and keep the miners honest. Nodes are crucial for decentralization and running a Bitcoin node is dirt cheap. Node operators form a consensus. Changing the rules is very hard. It’s like the Constitution. It can be amended, but it takes a super majority. You are also conflating settlement assurance with the difficulty algorithm. These are separate but related items.

"Look at this point I barely remember why i brought them up but the fact is that if enough people had wanted the stock, Enron or something like Bed Bath and Beyond wouldnt have gone bankrupt, they could have issued more shares. Enron clearly a bad choice." It is incredibly ironic that you picked in Enron. It's is a perfect example against your stock argument. It was a company based off manipulation and false value. (Which is exactly what bitcoin is in my opinion). The company's failure was the reason for its delisting, when it lacked intrinsic value there was no point in trading it. A perfect example of how equity works. The fact that you didn't know what Enron was and why it failed tells me you're not financially literate. It was one of the largest financial crimes in human history, and you did not know of it. Look it up. "All value is subjective" Saying "all value is subjective" a cop-out to that very important statement that bitcoin has no intrinsic value. How do you address that? how do you address the free money era in the United States? "With the job, you are trading labor for dollars. With the house you are trading house for dollars." I couldn't agree more. My service is of value to society, I offer my service in exchange for US dollars. My service is what is in demand. Yes, the house is what is in demand and has value, you trade money for that. What you just said here in the negates what you said in the beginning. You're confirming my argument. ----- In the English language, it is customary to describe trading labor for money as "earning", and trading items for money as "selling", and money for items as "buying". Yes, that is true that we use those words in the English language. But they are not interchangeable. Earning is producing. Selling is the exchange on the producer side Buying is the exchange on the consumer side All three actions have different definitions and connotations. That is why in the English language we have three words for each three distinct economic states. -------- "These different words describe the same trade, but from different perspectives. Do you disagree with anything I wrote in this portion?" They are absolutely not the same. See above for definitions of the terms. I have a service that only I can provide. When I offer that service in exchange for dollars, what I am doing, and what the consumer is doing is completely different. Ask a steel manufacturing plant if the manufacturing and selling of steel products is the same as buying steel products. I think you'll find they are wildly different. ------- "Guy in 745AD: Hey did you know that in the future people will buy things with colored pieces of paper and you won't be able to get gold for them?" Currency has been around for a long time. It was well established in 745 A.D. It was both backed by the coins being made out of precious metals AND also it was backed by trust of the issuer. Which is how paper money works. Depending on the society currency wasn't always backed by Gold. So I think the guy in 745 A.D. wouldn't think twice about it. They trust that the emperor's stated value is the stated value ---- "Absolutely correct! This is also how gold works, how stocks work, how your house price works, your fine art price works, your used car price works, etc etc etc. It's also how my Canadian dollar works, from your perspective (I'm assuming your an American). It's how your US dollar works, from the perspective of someone who has only Bitcoin." A huge difference from a stock and bitcoin is that the company behind the stock is an economic driver. There is no economic driver behind bitcoin other than what the last person paid. Also stock pricing isn't just based upon what you're willing to pay, the performance of the company determines the majority of the pricing. Enron failed, so their stock was delisted. As for the other examples: a piece of art, gold, a car, a house...the big difference there is I can do something with it. I know you can buy a few things with bitcoin but you really can't do much with it other than launder money and speculatively trade. It's volatility prevents it being actually useful as a currency.

u/DA_Maverick_AD the only argument against Algorand that I heard was decentralization which they seem to be fixing by end of December hopefully by moving to gossip network as well. The users who are running a node is increasing everyday so hopefully, the true decentralization of the whole system will begin and the fee structure will be improved so after Algorand bonus has ran out, it makes sense of holders to keep running the node to help decentralization and security!

>Name a bankruptcy company that went out of business and people still bought the stock? Don't think there is one. A bankrupt company which restructures and stays listed is very different than a bankrupt company that went out of business like Enron. Look at this point I barely remember why i brought them up but the fact is that if enough people had wanted the stock, Enron or something like [Bed Bath and Beyond](https://slate.com/business/2023/05/bed-bath-beyond-stock-bankruptcy-store-closures-buy.html) wouldnt have gone bankrupt, they could have issued more shares. Enron clearly a bad choice. >Enron is a terrible example because its intrinsic value went to zero, thus nobody wants it. I believe bitcoin has zero intrinsic value too. All value is subjective -------- >Negative, I EARN dollars with my employment. I have something to offer people that is of value, there is demand for what I have to offer. Thus people are willing exchange cash for my offering. I am not buying their dollars with my labor, They are buying my (in demand) service in exchange for US dollars. >No on the house. Selling a house is selling a house and buying a house is buying a house. I cannot make a house out of 500,00 dollar bills. With the job, you are trading labor for dollars. With the house you are trading house for dollars. In the English language, it is customary to describe trading labor for money as "earning", and trading items for money as "selling", and money for items as "buying". These different words describe the same trade, but from different perspectives. Do you disagree with anything I wrote in this portion? ----- "When Bitcoin is the only money left, then that's exactly how it will work." >The only money left? Do you hear how insane that sounds. Guy in 745AD: Hey did you know that in the future people will buy things with colored pieces of paper and you won't be able to get gold for them? Other guy: Do you realize how insane that sounds? ---- "Until then, you will be able to set a price for it in other money, just like there is a price for US dollars in Canadian dollars." >I think what the next guy's willing to pay is what sets the price of bitcoin. Absolutely correct! This is also how gold works, how stocks work, how your house price works, your fine art price works, your used car price works, etc etc etc. It's also how my Canadian dollar works, from your perspective (I'm assuming your an American). It's how your US dollar works, from the perspective of someone who has only Bitcoin.

People fucked money up way before fractional reserve banking xD "The Roman Empire's currency debasement in the 3rd century AD was one of the earliest examples of severe inflation caused by state interference. The Roman government gradually reduced the silver content in their coins, replacing it with cheaper metals, in an attempt to fund military expenses and other state needs. As the value of the currency plummeted, prices soared, and inflation spiraled out of control. This economic instability weakened the empire, contributing to its eventual decline. It's a classic case of how tampering with currency can lead to long-term economic collapse."

Yes, exactly The bloodline goes even further back to King Alfred the Great the very first king of England. And 800 years before that, the bloodline goes to Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus, also known as Octavian, was the founder of the Roman Empire. He reigned as the first Roman emperor from 27 BC until his death in AD 14. We all know who is alive during those years even if you don’t believe in the religion part.

Security does not inherently come from the server running windows itself. The network architecture, firewalls, endpoint protections all play a role. OSes like Windows, Linux, and blockchains like Bitcoin are only as secure as you make it. It’s a whole supply chain issue. The statistic you raise doesn’t mean anything. Windows Servers play a different role (AD/RDS) than Linux-based servers. Licensing is different as well.

The blaming of merchants for inflation goes all the way back to Emperor Diocletian in 301 AD. He issued an edict to put a max price on goods and services and directly blamed merchants for increasing prices, calling it greed. The edict did not work obviously because merchants and farmers stopped selling their products, leading to shortages and even higher prices.

I am completely opposed to CBDCs. That said, sadly they will happen. All we can do in the meantime is vote for whoever is against CBDCs. This was written in the year 90 AD: >And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. *- John, in* [*Revelation 13*](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=revelation+13&version=NASB1995) Such an ability wasn't possible in human history until recently. Now you can check out at several stores, such as Whole Foods, with a microchip that's been embedded in your hand. Eventually such technology will be linked to the global CBDC. The same book that told us about this technology and system also says that those who get the mark will have no hope of salvation, so don't get the mark! Take this as your sign to turn to Jesus.

Your Help Matters! Hello r/CryptoCurrency! I am conducting a social experiment to explore the concept of altruism within the cryptocurrency community. My experiment is simple: if you are willing and able, would you consider sending a small amount of cryptocurrency my way? Any amount that you feel comfortable with would be greatly appreciated. I offer nothing in return except the opportunity to participate in a unique study of human behavior and generosity in the digital age. How does it work? Just send any small amount to the following wallet address ETH [0xEc580d2AD0A2a0f05B9a49Ad15cd45e94C3D6DE2]. Please do this only if you feel inclined to participate in the experiment without any expectations in return. I am excited to track the results and will share a comprehensive review here on Reddit, so everyone can see how the community responded to such a request. What will I do with the results? After the experiment concludes, I will publish a detailed report with an analysis of the contributions and possibly comments from participants, to discuss how various factors like market conditions and community sentiment may have influenced the outcomes.Thank you for your attention and potential participation! This could be a fun and insightful endeavor, plus it might provide us all with some food for thought about the future of digital relationships and altruism.Remember to comply with the community rules before posting and be prepared to engage politely with any feedback you may receive. Greetings from the USA! Communicating clearly when visiting here would be a very valid reason for putting the day between the month and year. It isn't logical, but dialects rarely are. Almost no one here when asked when they were born, would reply "I was born on the twentieth day of April, 1960." You'll get, "I was born April 20th, 1960." If you talk like that at a social function, you may as well say, "I was born just before dawn broke the glowing skies, heralded into the world with a rooster's strained crow, during the sweet arrival of spring, on the twentieth day in the month of April, the year of our good lord, 1960 AD." No one is going to ask you another question for the rest of the night, aside from, "Who do you know here," or "Who invited you?" Order of information is sacrificed for efficiency. The extra words provide no conversational benefit, and sound clunky.
