Correct It's going to be EXTREMELY difficult for you psychologically to take a loss on a trade at first due to the low capital your trading it's painful to have to swallow the thaught of "today is a loss" that is the battle you need to fight. YoU MUST take the loss in order to take another trade. My rules are below ( I trade options spy /qqq / apple / nvda / tesla / amazon and ES Futures with my own cash) spy & qqq are 90% of my trades. Rule 1 . Write down profit target and take loss target on a piece of paper along with reason for trade. (EXAMPLE: PROFIT TARGET : 20% TAKE loss 20% reason for entry : spy has held the $600 price 3 times on the 4 hour chart my bet is it will hold again after seeing a bounce on the 5 min at 599.25 price heading back over 600 so I buy $600 call. Time stop is 15 min for this trade. RULE 2. NEVER EVER ADD to a LOSING Trade if it fell 20% from my entry it was a bad trade thats it. NO reason to hold the contract and expose myself to time decay. If I see the price of the asset is starting to finally go the way I originally thaught I can then enter at whatever price the option is trading then. Rule 3. HaRD loss day rule. At the beginning of the month I write down my hard loss number. (EXAMPLE: IF I LOSE MORE THEN 2% of my account im done for the day) when I first started trading this number was a flat $300 number. If $-300 in a day I need to walk away. Stick to these rules and profits will follow Quick recap: *Enter the trade with a profit % target and a take loss %. * Never add to a loser. * Hard loss $ amount needs to be in place for the day. In my trading my number is 20% I buy and aim to make 20% in the trade most of the time I get more. Some of the time I hit the 20% then it starts to reverse and I immediately cut at +10% +7% or some random +% becuase I aim to never let a winning trade go red. If any trade at any time goes -20% I exit immediately. Since you are working with $500 practice trading with it for 1 month you goal is to have the same 500 or more in 20 trading days. That's it! Aim to keep the 500 if you can make 20 trades and still have 400-500 in the account that's a win. Trade 1 contract at a time and sell it as soon as your +20% or more on it. Don't look at the $ look at the % in each trade
