Bud I'm not a paid up memember of the grammar police but paragraphs and truncated sentences. All of Europe is gonna fail because the cdu/csu is gonna bow down to the AFD and bend the SDP over? The protests in Berlin alone beg to differ. Will Europe operate a different immigration policy as whole over the next 10 years....definitely. The macro economic climate at least in the short term doesn't favour growing the population base therough immigration....the question remains how do you raise taxes whith out growing the base. Either squeeze the middle class or make companies and the rich pay more. Howbthe eaverahe global citizen of German citizen can't see this is beyond me. And yes some people will think some stong man (of the people) will make immigrants pay. But anyone with a basic understanding of economics sees through the BS Guess [who](https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-declares-oecd-tax-deal-has-no-force-or-effect-us-2025-01-21/) is already trying to scupper the idea of companies bigger up this shortfall...of yeah property mogul and man of the people trump. Trumps America first foreign and economic policy really means...America alone. Anyone thinking any country, economy or even political stance that thinks isolationism works only needs to look at North Korea. Which is why China rebanded as (communist lite) and max free trade decades ago. I think people need to be looking far stronger at American diversification in the long run way before they ask the same question about China along as mango man is in charge.

https://youtu.be/kHasoSdHcGo Interview last week with Carmen Wegge - SDP on legalization. If I understand correctly there is a firm plan in place to bypass the Bundesrat. By working with a 2 step- bill. It's not clear if it will be 2 seperate bills or one bill split in 2 steps. Where the first step is basically decriminalization, where Bundesrat has no say. So it seems there will be guaranteed progress?

Hi Pranaman If your asking to understand what causes inflation right? Your question indicates you have a basic understanding (no disrespect). Rather than people provide slightly complicated or peicemeal or even anecdotal examples which create more confusion than clarity let me provide an easy overview. Most people will present anecdotal inflation (eg by examples) Think of everything in life ...what is the CLASS (general case) and INSTANCE (the specific case aka example) ...most people will provide you with inflation by instance eg examples...inflation is created by supply chain problems, war impacts price of energy or food, global markets diminished supply, For me these two posts are closest to what you need to start to understand inflation & how it works. ...@JeffB1517 is right in part... "Price rises when supply falls, or when demand grows" which is your clue ...@guachi01 is right in full although worst... "In the short term inflation can occur because of supply being too low or demand being too high or some combination of the two. In the long term inflation is generally caused because of increase in money supply" With anything always start with ...1. what is the process (the overview) then 2. how does the process work then 3. Where does your question fit in the process ? 4. How can you answer your question using the process elements terminology understanding you know. So to explain inflation start with class & then instance A) The class is : inflation is part of the SUPPLY DEMAND process eg SUPPLY > PRICE > DEMAND if supply increases it pushes price up if supply decreases it pulls price down If demand increases it pulls price up If demand decreases it pushes price down In summary price is the boundary between any Supply demand process. B) The instance is : inflation is applied to X, where X is any number of examples or markets (economy, industries, government's, country finances, business finances, personal finances, consumer finances, good & services, the property market, commodities market, energy, employment, food, debt/bonds/capital/equity etc, profits, salaries, sales, investing, ...list is long & diverse) C) But the concept is sane...simply put inflation is the boundary (price of something) in a SUPPLY DEMAND process (SDP)... D) Then you can add the concept of compound effect. Ie the total inflation is made up of any number of underlying contributing inflations...or compound inflations Eg country inflation is made up primarily by energy market inflation & property market inflation (both energy & property being the two biggest markets contributing to country GDP overview & growth). E) once you have a visual guide ...price moves up or down at the boundary of SDP you can do what-ifs What is SUPPLY side pressure pushing price up or down? What is DEMAND side pressures pushing price up or down? Examples of SUPPLY side pressure could be a producer pays more for his costs which then push his prices up (supply<demand) Examples of DEMAND side pressure could be a product is wanted so much for Xmas that it drives up the price because of scarcity (demand>supply) F) once you understand the basic SDP & how it works... understand that short term inflation Vs long term inflation... It is great to say short term inflation is based on simple SUPPLY DEMAND in a market but in long term inflation it is based in monetary policy, interest rates & 'money supply' to any given market G) I would add another factor is understanding inflation types. https://www.toppr.com/guides/fundamentals-of-economics-and-management/money/forms-of-inflation/ Demand Pull Inflation Cost-Push Inflation Open Inflation Repressed Inflation Hyper-Inflation Creeping and Moderate Inflation True Inflation Semi-Inflation I shall rest my plane there... Hope it helps.

This is where the limits of my knowledge about the SDP come into play. I don't know what their economic policy around such things is likely to look at. That said, on a very surface level, socialist economic policy at it's root is about the shared ownership of resources in the hopes of a more equitable society. That to me suggests a government run program. Or maybe a tightly regulated industry with quasigovernmental operators, similar to the provincial LP systems with provincial ownership of certain aspects of the supply chain. Total speculation. I am way out of my depth. Just trying to square the socialist ideology with the knee jerk reaction that German legalization is good for foreign producers like Tilray.

> Just observing that in every day life as a Canadian, I regularly purchase items made in Canada by a foreign owned company. But not cannabis, right? The Canadian cannabis industry is very nationalistic, without much interest in opening it up so far (correct me if I'm wrong here). And that structure of legalization wasn't even ushered in under a socialist party. I agree that nationalism eventually falls on it's face. But that doesn't mean they won't initially go there, possibly for many years. My initial comment was calling out the disparity between the investment thesis put forward by op and the political ideology of the SDP.

Did you read the article? Christian Lindner is the leader of the FDP which placed 4th in yesterday’s election. Here is the extent of his comments: When asked in an interview what could be easier for the FDP to achieve with the SDP and Greens than with Merkel's conservatives, to whom he is closer, Lindner simply replied: “The legalization of cannabis." Asked to name any other issues, he responded: "I can't think of many right now." A positive statement for sure, but not much more than that at the moment.
