If NES shareholders receive WTTR shares, then shouldnβt all NES shares borrowed become obligations to return WTTR shares by the borrower? In which case, shouldn't short sellers be able to meet their delivery obligation by purchasing or borrowing WTTR shares from the market? The deal places a floor but also an expiry date until which short sellers are exposed to NES volatility. I doubt institutions are holding for the squeeze. They may simply consider the share fairly valued with respect to the WTTR shares to come and not be treating it as anything other than a WTTR share. Institutions don't turn around and trade the moment a share is overvalued. The low turnover is a consequence of this culture.

When will the acquisition happen and do you know at price? I already bought in but I don't want to wake up and see I've lost the value of what NES is currently trading at to that of WTTR is offering...
