Seriously?!? Who is “Charlie”? And why would someone from Indonesia choose the anglicized name Charlie? And why does Charlie represent “finance” for smd.spil.co.id? What is “smd”, what is “spil”, and why is it a derivative of “smd”? And if Charlie is really *that* good, why’s he/she sending you an email? If it were me, I’d install a startup app that would showcase some of your most embarrassing moments every time you boot up to let you squirm and know I’ve really got the goods. And also, can Charlie produce your MAC address or even current IP address? processor type?!? I mean, c’mon Charlie, if you copied all my files, you, at least, should know some rudimentary details about where the info came from, right? But to “Charlie’s” credit, at least the language isn’t heinous .

I went into the DHCP static IP configuration and assigned an unused IP within the specified range in my router's DHCP server configuration. I assigned the static IP to my Raspi's MAC address. I see my lease time in my DHCP is set to 1 day. Do I need to increase that when running a BTC node, or does the lease time matter? The node stops being accessible in less than one day, so perhaps that's not the issue. I do notice that within a few hours, I start to get a series of CPU\_IOWAIT critical errors in MyNode's Glances like this below. I've been told this is not a problem from one person in the Telegram support chat, but idk. Warning or critical alerts (last 9 entries) 2022-11-11 22:51:32 (00:00:09) - CRITICAL on CPU\_IOWAIT (46.8) 2022-11-11 22:49:04 (00:00:09) - CRITICAL on CPU\_IOWAIT (49.3)

Many deem hardware wallets to be the only cold wallets, but this is incorrect. You want to put as many layers of security between yourself and a potential attacker. Layered security is realistic security. What is below may seem technical, but it just takes a couple hours of following a guide and you'll get it done. Easy to do and effectively free. The example below with Samourai and Android can be easily replicated with a Live Linux OS such as Tails, and Electrum Wallet. - Get an unused android smartphone or tablet. - Flash LineageOS on it (or any other well known open source Android aftermarket OS). - No SIM. - Ensure root on your phone is not active (it's not active by default). - Login to the router of your local network, take the MAC address of the phone, and block it. - Install a firewall via APK. - Block everything. - Install a software wallet with offline TX signing such as Samourai Wallet using the APK from the official site (checksum encouraged). - Input a system password (aside from the Samourai one). - Open Samourai and create a wallet as normal. - It'll create a backup file - Take this file and keep it safe such as on a USB drive or private cloud storage. This file can be stored in a decentralised manner for easier accessibility. You'll need both your 25th custom checksum word + the PIN to access the wallet so there's a good degree of security here. Keep the seed physically stored and safe just in case. - Factory Reset phone (optional). On another phone such as your daily driver, install Samourai's Sentinel watcher-only App. If you don't factory reset, you can perform offline TX signing if required. You can also use Sentinel with a paper wallet.

We'd phase out our Chinese ASICs for Korean in a heartbeat. I'm concerned about supply-chain reliability with China. Chinese ASICs don't follow any standards, random MAC addresses, high DOA rate, dangerous shipping methods (~7000lbs on 1/8" plyboard skid), and who knows if what you're getting is legit. Taiwan units are better, China mainland is all over the place. I also doubt their advertised capablility, especially on energy consumption.

> they'd fork the chain to cut off the bad actors and reverse any damage they'd done. How would they identify the bad actors so as to cut them off? An IP or MAC address can be changed. If it involves the Bitcoin core developers choosing which fork to follow and hard-coding the node software to ignore the NSA one, then that shows Bitcoin has a centralised authority which will also lead to a drop in trust in its long term viability as a store of value. I think if I understand this argument correctly, a nation state level attack even if ultimately unsuccessful could still bring down Bitcoin. Happy to be - and very open to being - shown I'm wrong. I admit I haven't thought nor researched this particular aspect that much.

Yep, this is an easy win. Especially using Bitcoin over Tor where exit nodes see unencrypted traffic and have the opportunity to MITM. Bitcoin peer to peer traffic should be encrypted and authenticated. I like the proposed tech, too. ChaCha20 is a very fast and secure cipher. Poly1305 is a superb MAC algorithm. And Diffie-Hellman for key exchange is a no-brainer. Should be faster than TLS and work without configuration or certificate management.

That’s some tin hat conspiracy shit. The internetwork model was developed over decades and is well documented. The first iteration was called the OSI model and had even more complexity than todays TCP/IP communications that consists of a datalink layer, internet layer, transport layer and application layer. It was developed all over the world and MAC addresses even pre-date the internet. You’d have to be an academic to really understand it all but it wasn’t just some dude and not even a single organization, certainly not the CIA. All of these standards had to be peer reviewed, tested by the internet engineering task force(IETF), a non profit organization of mostly brilliant academics and network engineers.

Chances are it was not programmed by a person but by a group. Possibly government related (CIA?). I still remember watching back in 2003 or 2004 a nice video made in flash (.swf) explaining all how it would work and stuff. A very well done animation. >Crypto provides many means to stay anonymous Actually it provides none. Crypto is the single most transparent financial system that exists. In no other system do you have a fully transparent and tracable transaction history from day 0 to day n. Every provider that you connected your wallet to also has your PCs info like IP, possibly MAC and browser info. The moment you connect your wallet (or make a transaction) to any exchange, they also have all of your personal info (requires them to enforce KYC). So yeah. If you've ever made any transaction that was in any form, at any point, linked to something with your name, none of the transactions linked to that wallet will ever be anonymous.

While it’s apple protocol to ask for passwords so they can verify the fixes. I don’t personally do that until the customer comes back. Replacing the physical hardware doesn’t require me to have access to the software layer of the phone except dor testing which I do when the customer arrives for pickup. It’s never been an issue for me in over a decade of repairing screens and other hardware issues. Additionally, after iOS 10.3 Apple updated it’s guidance that it’s not required for Genuis Bar employees to require your password for hardware repairs. If for some reason I absolutely needed the passcode, I would have them backup the device to icloud or some other storage (if it’s a computer) then logout of icloud, disable find my iphone and then wipe the phone back to factory so there was no personal data or apps left on the software so I can test it as a clean device. This is also a standard request of Apple when sending in your MAC for service. But for 99% of phone repairs never needed the passcode myself.

Simply make sure you can access everything without your phone (should be something you do anyway) and then just make sure the phone is factory reset with the SIM removed before the handoff... Your phone is the least secure way to store important information in the first place, SIM/IMEI/MAC spoofing makes it child's play even without access to your device.

What if we input 1 BTC from Address A » convert to Monero » then split that Monero 3 ways » buy BTC on 3 different places, going to 3 different new wallets (addresses) Now you have 0.33 BTC on 3 different Address B, C and D (totaling the 1 BTC you started with). How can that be traced? I don't think it would be possible. Unless somehow someone can link your MAC address and/or your IP to the exchange you bought BTC on, and then later connect the same MAC/IP addresses to the specific new wallets, and even then, can that prove ownership?

Using the VAULT from here on Reddit, you copy that MAC Address and go to the Moon faucet site. Enter your address in the field, finish the captcha (not all faucets have these) click and done. It sends mini amounts to your vault. Same concept for all faucets, you just need to have a MAC address location to send to.forneach one.

Without IP addresses all that data can be made up... Like it's the IP and the MAC address it's one or the other... You have to have some way to collect valid information or there's no way to test if it's valid... Yes like I said from the beginning poles are erroneous information that is completely untestable.. glad we're coming full circle here and you're seeing my original point that I made at the beginning... ThUs pulls because they're untestable data makes them unvalid. And that's just going off the scientific method... Sorry for applying logic to your fancy pants numbers that aren't real.

Yes and no. Since this is based on what a modern day earth is turning into there wil only be two ideologies. One side will not interbreed. In fact. They are so against it that they even have to have the same colour eyes and hair as their partners. MAC is now owned by the government due to their outstanding skin tone database. The only problem is that this group also values heirarchy over all else and after a few generations noone can tell each other apart so their governments are failing and there are home invasion shootings every day due to people mistaking their spouses for the secretary of state or the guy who works at McDonalds. The other side have cat girls. They have an apartheid because the simp population of this side cant say no to girls and the well documented history of cat humiliation has made the catgirls unsympathetic to the troubles of mere humans. The catgirls are thriving but the remaining humans on this side are starving to death. They have been offered refuge by the other ideology but noone will defect because that side was cancelled on twitter and BTS would fucking disown them if they did that. Also, they're all wearing cowboy hats.

Or is this a one time thing only at creation and thus pointless (You don't think a cartel that's been controlling all PoW coins can afford to buy some new blocks of IPs loollll?) > block gpu/asic mining. It makes no difference what hardware you use. If it's POW, part of the price is electricity. I have cheap electricity. You don't... and the electronics we pay the same price for. That still counts. It's manipulative. It's fraudulent behavious with intent or harm, stealing and gaining access to further information than the person is made to believe is going to be accessed. I bbelieve some people that go from having life okay because of it and are suddenly into nothing might feel so much pain that I don't mind at all sending people 1 dollar one day here and there if i can. If it wasnt so hard to send dollars to people. To send 1 I have to add my credit card, actually my parents credit card and that is scary because I was hacke and lost my life, bank account access, little tiny bits of bitcoin, work and so on. Since it took over my entire life computers and phone. Even when i moved to another computer they kept quiet than followed again. How I did find out that my computer had been left in many locations without me bodyguarding it someone took a flashdrive and installed an AUDIT thing to it. I hate MACs now. I have no life because I have to make sure no one takes that. So I am my mother's daughter. I have a card with a 400 limit with a bank account that I don't leave money in to be ever used. Money goes, pays small walk outside card and gone. Just yesterday I had to buy something online and just took the higher limit crd on my hard, my others' and decided to go towards my brother the never MAC user and ask him to just buy some stuff. The card before got 108 attempts at something. The bank threw a huge hissy fit. The virtual card on the phone some time ago was almost tried and it wasnt my card or my phone or me, but just looked a person phone and there it was the card asking for confirmation but the confirmation is the persons's thumb. I said hey your phone asking for confirmation person's went ahead to put thumb to it. I almost broke the phone I took it out of person's hand faster than a thinb can be set in place and asked did you buy anything? No. It's hoe I unlocked the app. I went noooooo. This is here saying to cofirm purchase. Always read. But people find evil ways to try and take advantage. There is this go near machine pay, right? Just touch the card to machine. Some criminals were with a machine on the 1 amounts, something low and moving inside buses goining near wallets. People take their wallet out usually to touch the bus card to pay the fee, asshole knows where wallet is and goes near. The government here made so many changes. Created PIX pay lower limits, PIX can be taken back is it was fraud. Police, report and actual investigation in a day now. It is no people's fault that they have to somehoe become ever vigilant of everything around like that. It's too much. I here have my cheap as card. Limit possible problems. Mom's card has an hissy fit throwing bank. They say no to everything. YOu have to call and human talk. The boys here went to buy a car part and they had to call the house for permission via call the bank. It was great. It's not something mom would buy. a car part. I got purchase of 100 rejected. It wasnt the normal stuff. I have decided that I will never be anyone other than my mother's daughter. So... some hacking are possible. All that was needed in my case was someone push a freaking flash drive into a mac.

People are much more likely to click a malicious link and get a zeus variant all up on their network, than to be hacked live in person within their LAN. Its possible though. What do you mean “cloned” the phone? A sim swap? a RAT? One can clone the MAC but not the cellular network, unless they have a cell tower. Heartbleed was disclosed publicly in like 2014. To attack the wifi router they would have to be within the lan network. If they proceeded to exploit the printnightmare vulnerability, they likely used it to install an appropriate zeus variant on each device. You need to change your passwords on all new gear, and never mix new with old once infected. It’s like raw and cooked meat, you keep them apart, always. Never out raw chicken on your cooked nuggets. If you change passwords on your infected shit, any attacker would have the new password.

Harder find and process - Silver - has zero to do with its price. It is like gold, oile, corn, cattle - all commodity and only market driven. Scarcity drives up price. But, then, that can become manipulated And it has in all of the above. As to first in. My examples are applicable to your generalization about firsts. My refuting it across many does prove the general statement is false. However, Bit coin was fist and it is, for now, the leader. Bit, so was IBM, Hewlett Packard, Ford, Motorola, Kodak, GE, McDonnell Douglas, etc at some point they were leaders in their industries. But, we can enjoy BTC untill another actually has the use and overtakes the rest. Oh, another example - Networks. A number of networks and protocols existed before the Internet was commercialized. They were viable - but, defacto use of TCP/IP, SMTP, DNS, BGP, FTP, HTTP, etc came by shear volume of people using Internet protocols on dial ups and setups, without being capitalized. Business had to adopt it or be left out. Oh, like Adobe's PDF over other vying methods for documents. Adobe wasn't first. It was unique and well marketed. I forgot the others. Oh, oh... MS Windows wasn't first using graphics or objects. MAC was first, which always struggled. Their were two other good OSs along with numerous attempts. I forget one - very good. But, O remember and amazing one Warp OS. It was great but, IBM destroyed it. It was 2 decades ahead of Windoze. And UNIX was first and very, very big. It died by popular command of users wanting and easy access to the Linux OS. Sorry for the History lesson. First in has an advantage but, guarantees nothing. And one first does not validate any generalizations. But, we have and hodl a little BTC and others. Don't expect BTC to survive. Have an exit. Because, when ETH, XRP, XLM, CBDC and others get rolling --- BTC may go the way of Betamax. Also, just because 3rd world, crime controlled, tiny, trashed nations choose BTC means zip to the selection by the leading nations. Actually, it may mean the big guys default to NOT BTC but, will use their own CBDC. And DOGE? DOGE has already been selected as the Space currency by the first President of Mars. LMAO.

I mean, its more likely the force of almost all the larger time frame MAC'Ds pushing down on the price and the holding keeping it from going down. Its ok though, you dont want too much rush. Let it consolidate and reject a 55-56k mark and then carry on its march onto glory. A small downtrend encourages investment too. Time is on *your* side :)

MAC addresses are hard to link to an individual because they don’t propagate farther than the local network. At that point they’d probably use the security camera footage to see who was in that Starbucks at that time, and if they really cared they subpoena Google and Apple for all phone numbers at that Starbucks when the transaction occurred.

It's quite different here. First government, courts and banks have access to bank accounts. Not joe public. On crypto, you can hundreds of "wallets". You could move crypto from A to B and give B to a family or friend as a gift (don't because lazy people see it as no value and just toss it! LOL) And if you use exchanges, the addresses are not yours, they are the exchanges. So only you, the crypto exchange and whoever regulates them can so the mapping. All majors ask for KYC/AML (know your customer/anti money laundering) and those who don't have dirty money and will be targets by authorities. If you get a cold wallet, nobody can track that it's you that has it until you start moving crypto around. Law enforcement isn't there to hose people that are regular and abide by the law, they are there to catch those not following the rules. If you don't like the house rules, go live somewhere else. Why should other residents pay for free-loaders? If I pay school taxes and have no kids and I don't like it, I move to a jurisdiction that doesn't tax me on this. You guys think money printed at will??? uhhhh, never mind ;-) LOL Let's focus on average Joe:Fast forward in a few years. Her iphone's Apple Wallet has all the cryptos she wants including Bitcoin of course unless it broke. Apple can change your public wallet address at will to hide you. They do that with WiFi MAC addresses to prevent WiFi system to track who you are. Look in the settings to see, should be there. If you know what you are doing at the expert level, you don't need a "crypto bank". If you are average joe, you want to deal with reputable companY X to deal with all the complexity. All you want is a cheap VISA/MC type of thing where the merchant gives you 2% cash back for using crypto instead of the outdated dinosaur payment systems. NFS is much better than QR for regular business but smaller ones would benefit from QR since there's no equipment needs Bitcoin payments, even over lightning, might have growing pains. Increasing LN channels will naturally solve this and we are just at the beginning of the S curve on this. The paint isn't dry and the devs are hard at work!

Well, following that same analogy/line of thinking, MAC OS X 10.0 had plenty of issues and concerns when it was released in 2001 as their first major OS. I'm not a programmer and realistically hardly know what I'm talking about, so this may not apply here at all, but they had many issues to fix for both consumers and developers by the time they got to 10.1 and beyond IIRC. I'm sure there were plenty of people who just decided to stick with Windows 2000/XP at the time.

I'm glad you asked! First, understand that I live on weekly paychecks from manufacturing general labor, so this is all I think about all day when I can't check the prices on my *escape plan*. The truth is, I really want to stake an NFT of my employee ID as a clock-in mechanism and be paid based on the labor matrix of each unit I help produce during the time I spend on the production floor... And there will be a universal oracle solution for location based clocking out using my personal device and a local WIFI intranet web portal (with MAC address whitelist) that connects to the wallet my NFT is staked from, or to be real worldly: as soon as I move out of Wifi range, the company's Oracle smart contract updates the MAC Address connection verification contract which triggers the Employee ID NFT to unstake, and I am "clocked out". The dividends from the staking contract are paid in local currency stable coin, created by a DEFI loan against the value of our product: An NFT of a business invoice is purchased and we all get paid based on the size of our "time" in the labor contract. The actual payment will be an LP token that auto swaps and burns when the Invoice NFT's Defi loan is payed off by the purchaser when the product is delivered. The value of the NFT Invoice comes from the proof of liquidity in the wallet that made the order; you must purchase the NFT for the value of the order in the stablecoin that we are paid in, this way, each company doesn't need a custom token chain and airdrop marketing ploy. No more wooden nickel shitcoins for small businesses. Honestly, we should have started this ten years ago.

You know Nepal is not much in technology, is not China banning webs and exchanges, I think changing IP an MAC address will be fine but in case I'll look for VPN. Yeah, you are right, for ordinary person it's much easier to offload to some exchange. However if you are already on a MAC, it's not very difficult to create a DMG from file. It's a matter of opening disk utility and creating new image. No, please don't. I'm an experienced day trader myself, and I even I wouldn't go near that shit. Spot trading is the way to go in the unpredictability of cryptocurrencies. A quick check-up to see if you are even experienced enough to start leverage trading: If you understand stochastic RSI, standard RSI, volatility, price aggregates, logarithmic regression, standard support lines (i.e. 21-W EMA or 22-W SMA), intermediary lines (i.e. 50 SMA and 100 SMA), depth charts, MAC.D, and standard candlestick patterns, *then maybe consider leverage trading* ***if you're absolutely certain****.*

OSI reference, I think of it as this, main layer, layer 3, IP networking. Takes more effort but is generally the best way to go. Same with crypto. Layer 2: MAC addresses direct communication, faster, but messier. Watch out for broadcast storms and STP renegotiations and Layer 2 hacks MAC spoofing....

Quoted from another user: “I've seen Lindell tease hexdump data which look really cool and CyBeRy but are complete modifiable by anyone with an open source hex editor (something my friends and I did in grade school to insert curse words into video games). Why are we not hearing about deep packet inspection tools like Wireshark and which OSI layers prove alteration? For that matter, in what scenario could packets for data from all 50 state's be snooped? Is your sniffer installed directly on the bad actor's PC? If that's the case how do you prove that they accessed the specific hosts containing critical election data? MAC addresses are dropped as soon as the packets leave the broadcast domain so you're not gonna tie packets to a specific hosts NIC in that scenario. The whole premise just seems so ridiculous and I'm interested in hearing if anyone can imagine a scenario in which PCAP data could prove anything like what is being alleged.”
