Former Acting Director and Deputy director of the CIA Michael Morell : Based on our research,I have come to believe that if there was one financial ecosystem for bad actors to use that would maximize law enforcement's chances of identifying them and their illicit activities,it would be Blockchain"

Credit Suisse whistleblower leak: Bank facilitated $80 BN money laundering for Human traffickers, drug dealers and murderers. Actual criminals continue to launder via the largest banks, but you be damned if you earn a little bit of spare income in crypto
Thought experiment: Someone being tracked by rogue NSA and CIA agents gives you 1 billion dollars worth of crypto on a USB drive, but the agents don't know this. What uberparanoid OPSEC would you guys recommend to secure this money and never get caught spending it by these corrupt government agents?
Satoshi was, obviously, the codename of Steven Seagal when he worked for the CIA. He has since moved beyond the law to Russia and is unable to touch the funds but he is watching his investment closely. He also adds the names of people inquiring into Satoshi to a long list and he checks it twice every year.
Yes the US government creates a transparent ledger where any and all transactions are permanently recorded throughout all of history and can't be altered, confiscated or frozen. This totally benefits the US government. The only thing that came from the US government by CIA proxy was the SHA protocol and is the reason conspiracists are convinced Bitcoin is invented by the US government but that's like saying cars are invented by the US government because they invented rubber tires.
Probably that BTC was a CIA or Chinese government op… idk it sounds somewhat plausible when you’re new to the space or don’t know anything about it, but when you’ve been watching news here for a while the way both of those governments act towards crypto (not just what they say) don’t really confirm that theory.
Alexa is something that is constantly listening in your home. There is no way to do that without moral hazard. No one will *ever* build a technology that listens to everything said in your home without becoming incrntivised by the state to abuse it, regardless of who is paying for it. There is no way to do something like Alexa 'right' in a society that also contains something like the CIA. It is all just wrong, it is going the wrong way. Turn back. See George Orwell's fiction for more on this.
The US gov and elites that run the world are going after Trump just like they did with JFK, he got assassinated by the CIA, surprised Trump hasn’t been yet. But gosh the establishment hates him. Trump was for America, against War, for lowering taxes, protecting freedoms, and wanted peace (was nominated for TWO noble peace prizes for his peace deals in the Middle East) no wonder the corrupt left and media hate the guy and brainwashed so much of the public into thinking he did so many things wrong.. fools can be fooled, that’s the truth.
If secretive DOD or CIA aircrafts are spotted around known US bases don't you think it helps them if people think its UFOs. I can't believe that if aliens could figure interstellar travel they would chose to hide from us or allow us to capture thier ships. The odds of them being able to do that and for us to both exist in the same time is as big stretch imo.
Nope, see definition of 1st world 2nd world 3rd world countries as decided by CIA at that time, okay they are the better off countries with good GDP, better financially etc but by that original definition they are 3rd world, not every poor country is 3rd world you know
>whatever system they have is not going to be in depth chain analytics I wouldn't be so sure. I bet the government has a ton of visibility into blackchain transactions but is careful not to let people realize it. Imagine being able to watch (or even own) a public-facing interface between a blockchain and the web (being vague since I don't want to accuse anybody specific). You would know which computers are linked to which wallets and could build a [social graph](https://www.policechiefmagazine.org/power-social-network-analysis/) of users. If you think all of this is farfetched, remember the the CIA used to [secretly own an encryption company](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crypto_AG) and that [Moxie](https://moxie.org/2022/01/07/web3-first-impressions.html) found a security vulnerability without much digging: >It reuses the same connections, TLS session tickets, etc for all the accounts in your wallet, so if you’re managing multiple accounts in your wallet to maintain some identity separation, these companies know they’re linked. It's not a reach to think that the feds have managed to implement a dragnet to monitor on-chain activity and are merely choosing not to prosecute low-level offenses in order to keep it secret.
It is a form of democracy. However, I do realise that in 1953; CIA successfully derailed democracy by removing PM Mossadegh and installing a puppet regime headed by the Shah. Currently, Pakistan is witnessing a similar regime change operation. Deposed PM Imran Khan recently brought the topic of 1953 coup in Iran during his protests!
I understand too, but that is a bit hypocritical to say the least. Did CIA made public how much it earned via drug trafficking of cocaine and crack in 70's in 80's to fund Nicaraguan militia? Did government do anything curb the blatantly obvious system of offshore money laundering and tax evasion? Nope. Because most government officials use those services themselves, so no point in shutting down something that allows you to siphon money out of taxpayers dollar and proclaim it as legitimate income. Meanwhile they want to account for every penny on a dime we spend and trade, but somehow when politicians make billion dollar deficits its ok, no one bats an eye, it will be forgotten by the time the term ends and another candidate takes over. How much was siphoned through Tornado? Couple hundread mil? Billion? Shit, offshore system launders trillions and yet everyone is ok with it because they are mostly complacent because - if you report it to the IRS that you are using offshore account its ok. Why couldn't same be done for mixer? Its just full of hypocrisy. I understand the government, its their role, but again, either go all in or don't go in at all, partial actions and decisions like this just fuels more distrust for the government.
So you remember that white hat hacker / network security tester who did an AMA with us a few months back? A couple of us asked him about Cardano and he said that while he hasn’t dedicated too much time to it, the network appears very secure and he can’t hypothesise a way in. And I’ll repeat, shitcoins may have a couple million or more in value, Cardanos current market cap is $18 Billion dollars. It was over $110B in September last year. That is a **mighty prize** if you can break in. So how come nobody did it? I’m pretty sure people were trying to break bitcoin even when it was worth a Buck a piece. As for the rest, man I don’t even wanna know what you’re smoking lol this started out as a good debate but I think I’ve got you nailed to the wall because now you’re telling me CIA isn’t interested in Cardano… like… are you ok bro?
Having a large value on the network doesn't really mean much because tons of shitcoins have large value on there networks to. It seems like nobody has shown any interest to target the network. So we don't know how resilient it really is and that's a risk in my opinion. I would not feel comfortable storing all my wealth on that blockchain. Maybe as a potential investment but not as a storage of wealth. I just dont see any incentives. And I dont think that's a suffering for BTC. It's actually a good thing new proposals get shot down or take years to be introduced because BTC is extremely heavy tested and any new proposals need to go through heavy testing. That's why coins like LTC will launch certain protocols before it ever goes on a network like BTC. This is what makes BTC so secure and strong and it would be extremely difficult for an agency like the CIA to infiltrate the development of its protocol whereas Cardano is a huge risk factor for an agency like the CIA to infiltrate its ranks of its company. But obviously the CIA isn't even interested in ADA because it wasn't designed to compete with BTC. It was more so designed to compete with ETH. The CIA already showed interest in Bitcoin back in 2010 because they already knew how powerful its revolutionary potential is but thankfully because of its decentralization its very difficult to infiltrate. And I disagree. PoW makes it more similiar to gold which means a lot to me and many others. It adds value to the computation by its consumption of energy. I dont see Cardano as a place for storage of wealth. It's more like a smart contract blockchain you use to make contracts, not store your wealth indefinitely.
Lol this is a popular conspiracy theory around here. Since the blockchain is open source and easily tracked, a criminal that only wants to be paid in bitcoin can easily track if the party they’re working with is law enforcement. The work around to this is to mine your own bitcoin in order to have “laundered clean” bitcoin. This is why I’m very very convinced the three letter agencies (FBI, CIA, etc.) and by extension, the US government started mining bitcoin to crack down on illegal activity and they are now mining and stacking quietly. There’s an episode of JRE where they go into this. Made too much sense not to entertain.
Lol nothing with the CIA is decentralized but what country loves to show you what we can do without showing you it’s us , what better way to destabilize a nation is to destroy there currency , don’t you see the contradiction where ( China and Russia ) are out of the blue making there own “ Reserve Currency “ they know shits about to hit the market 10000x crazier then ever before which is why you see all foreign entities taking money out the country who are not connected with NATO & also Klaus Shwab simply states this as well in the “ Great Reset “ documentary especially when they themselves will be switching to “ BlockChain “
Lol so what , our technology, data , biometric data , etc is being stolen from us and used against us thru chemical attacks , how is a monetary system supposed to work if it’s constantly being controlled , Bitcoin has CIA all over it & it’s happening
Gaddafi was doing economic changes alone that why he got wack by CIA. Russia and China are building a league of country's that don't want to deal in dollars and wants to get way from USA. Iran, India, Brazil, Russia, China and etc . also See that where your wrong bro USA is a dictatorship but we are taught to believe at a young age, its a free country but it really not. What I mean it's a dictatorship, look at Senate and house of representatives. They can serve as long as they can until the get old age. So technically they can enter government at 30 and leave in when 80 or 90. Look at Pelosi she have been around 60's. Why in the fuxk is that allow. The people that run the country is a rogue group of people that control senate, military complex, Pentagon and house of representatives. We have been duped, to believe we are free people but we are not. We are slaves to system that only benefits the rich and only rich.
>because the humans that created it stepped away That’s just an assumption, is it not? It could have been a benevolent benefactor to the future or just as likely a deliberate project by an NSA/CIA type entity as an experiment released into the wild. In some ways it’s eerily too perfect in every single aspect. I always think of “if it’s seems to good to be true, it probably is” when thinking of BTC. Still collect and hold it, but I also don’t pretend to know it’s actually meant to benefit humanity ultimately.
If it's software then yes you can do that. If it's a hardware wallet, then you can probably do that if you have the resources of the CIA. End of the day it's computers, not magic, if you have the resources, time and money to clone what is on the chips it will work the same.
I came across Bitcoin from a backwards path. I was in Ukraine trying to figure out the best way to STABILIZE a struggling government. When I figured out what HODL was, and that it was happening right now, I was absolutely terrified because from a geopolitics standpoint there is no way it doesn’t completely destabilize world governments. Or at least expose their fatal flaws. I spent months trying to contact anyone that would listen or talk to me to see if someone was at the wheel or if anyone inside of USGOV knew or understood it. Let’s just say no one checks their emails anymore and definitely doesn’t answer random phone numbers from Ukraine. We passed the “survival of the fittest” part of this exercise months ago. I lost most of my hair. Now it’s just a matter of holding on for the ride and hoping it gets over as fast as possible. The U.S. has spent itself into extinction. Luckily Russia and China have banned Bitcoin because it is a threat to their oppressive governmental kleptocracy’s. At some point in the very near future the US (democracy, not the bullshit politicians pretending to represent democracy) will have to decide if we are going to go full send on it or just drag the bloody battle out longer. I never saw the value in Bitcoin before April. My only friend that still works for the CIA and I would have this conversation about how a centralized and decentralized system could never truly coexist. It’s binary. Eventually one of them fails. Yet here we are. If you can’t eat it, shoot it, wear it or trade it, it’s not worth much for the next 2-5 years. That’s a fundamental of human existence from when beaver pelts were cash. The faster the adoption happens the less human suffering does. I bought my first sats last week as soon as I got back from Ukraine. And I truly feel like the Ukraine war is an existential threat to the US and will be going back as soon as I can afford it. So adjust accordingly
You are unfortunately very naive. We've been fucking over ourselves since the conception of man. I understand it's a hard reality to come to terms with, the notion that these conspiracy theories might be correct. I'm sure your entire political outlook, your entire belief system would be flipped right over, but go read up on the council of foreign relations, bank of international settlements, check out the foia files released by the CIA on the shit they admit they've done, come back here and tell me with a straight face your not a government fucking shill.
It is scary but unlikely. Most countries don't trust China and Russia enough to onboard a currency of authoritarian rule. African countries are learning that lesson first hand right now. As silly as this statement may sound, it is true: the U.S. is one of the most stable economies with rule of law and property rights (unless you piss off CIA). Politics are gridlocked for slow change. Russia/China's economy's dogshit right now. Countries are temporarily making deals with them for cheap short term needs/gains, just temp. U.S. is nowhere near perfect, but we're the best in town. There's no fixing the money printer, so BTC is still the future. Imo.
CIA is criminal organization from the perspective of russia or china. CIA needs dark money to run its clandestine operations in those countries, so it helped push things in the right direction so it can hide within the liquidity of the markets . Blockchain needed to be purly decentralized to insure that no country could corrupt it and their agents can be safe. Just like tor. /half baked conspiracy theory.
>I do love entertaining conspiracies like this. Another interesting one is the US government or specially CIA created it. I hadn’t heard of this one before though. > >Your logic is interesting. Of the many bitcoins that have never moved, I can only imagine the owner would be dead, forgot the seed phrases, or possibly so wealthy already that they could continue holding without an urge to sell. > >But then again, if they ever did move a single BTC, I imagine the price would tank because that would change what the perceived quantity exists in circulation. > >So overall, I highly doubt your proposal is correct, but it is very interesting to think about. If we go in conspiracy theory mode, I would rather look at the wallets with the largest transfers than the ones that are stagnant. if we use the same logic as with Tor, the main reason to create a system like Bitcoin, would be to move money for covert projects. As with Tor, normal people using it is just a benefit creating noise to hide what the creators are actually using it for.
tldr; Bitfinex has been accused of laundering $300 million in drug money through a bank in the office of a paid CIA informant. The informant had previously been jailed for money laundering and drug trafficking and was extradited to the US. However, he was later revealed to be a paid informant in exchange for draining the necessary information on washing money from the Irish Republican Army. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. and every time they did attempt it, the CIA had a word to say... Maybe read up on your own history.. it's not like the data isn't public... The people just don't read up on it and the schooling system in the US definitely won't tell you anything that doesn't have "US is best" as a underlying narrative... Maybe start with the list of democratically elected governments that were toppled by the US... The only people on this planet who do not know about the involvement of the US in these conflicts are Americans...
ah yes, like the famously left wing CIA, which coups leaders to prop up socialist and communist governments abroad. wait, no, that's not right at all. or the famously left wing FBI who hire weed smoking college liberals. wait, no. you can't work for the FBI if you like weed. or ICE. who gave up raiding businesses and communities up so illegal immigrants can freely walk into the country. wait. damn, no not that either. maybe the department of energy is full of leftists though. I'd bet that's the ticket.
>FCC announcement of TikTok It's all bullshit, It's a trump FCC guy shooting off his mouth. if you read his press he is more concerned that people are getting crazy ideas from china, instead of national security. Also, shouldn't some CIA, Homeland Defense, or FBI or some shit keep tabs on this more than the FCC?
I gave you an upvote because unless you worked "on the inside" you wouldn't know. So... I saw so many vile acts of heinous crimes when I was the only IT guy for the "law" (1980 - 1999). They called me "the computer guy" then and it was meant as a derogatory term. I got that job as a freshman in college. Made a career out of it. Did I say anything or become a whistleblower? Of course, not! My promotions and bonuses were depended on the persons committing those crimes. How stupid can I be to expose MY superiors? You don't think the replacement "superior" will fire me right away after he takes office? He already knows I am a whistleblower...and that is if they don't treat me like an Assange, Snowden, John Dougan etc etc. Remember all those "human right crimes and war crimes" etc etc exposed by CIA agent John Kiriakou? Well, guess what...he is the ONLY one who went to prison :) [https://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/oct/23/cia-whistleblower-john-kiriakou-leak](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/oct/23/cia-whistleblower-john-kiriakou-leak) They'll manufacture a way to punish anyone. F\*ck that! Life's too short to spend time in prison.
