Oh for sure, not saying I'm in line with them creating Bitcoin or crypto, but it absolutely shows they would have known about/talked about a digital currency to come. And if that's the case, then we can extrapolate from there how these discussions or concerns would evolve over time, even if we make the cutoff at or around the time of Bitcoin. And given that Berkeley is a popular CIA recruitment school on top of the MK testing there, I think working on something with such large financial and national security implications only adds to the smoke. It's just not possible IMO that such a dramatic change to the economic system that will if not destroy, then radicalize and open finance worldwide, would go unnoticed and left unchecked once it was. I also find it impossible to believe that happened with Bitcoin, or is happening in real time now beyond the developments we've seen over the years from these mega corps. The system that has allowed big business and otherwise large entities to thrive is entirely banked on the sustainability and perpetuation of itself, and crypto would actually be an incredible tool for these agencies who after a certain point couldn't hide and needed to at least pretend to be accountable for where there money is coming from and what asshole it fell out of.

My goodness this is where urban myths start. No this isn’t what happened. Here’s what happened because I was there: Gavin Andreesen was given the keys to the Bitcoin Github code repository and got invited by the CIA to explain Bitcoin. Satoshi felt very strongly that Havin should not go to the meeting because it was far too early for the authorities to start to get involved with looking at Bitcoin. Gavin went to the meeting and very shortly afterwards Satoshi left the community. You guys seem to not understand that BTC was captured and neutralized by the old financial elite from 2014 to 2017 by the old money elites. That is why only BCH developed the capability to fit in more transactions. But it was destroyed by media. Ow do you really believe that the majority of people here outsmarted the big financial dynasties, when the CIA had talks with some of the devs alread in 2010. LOL. I have a bridge to sell, if you believe that. Crypto is used as currency in projects like Monero, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Nano. People however are not interested in adoption, but in fiat wealth and that is why the attack vector to declare Bitcoin as an investment (digital gold) worked so well in the first place.

First my disclaimer: I believe in BTC, HODL BTC and like this group. Not financial advice. I like hearing all sides. I posted a Martin Armstrong video in here a few weeks ago which got removed. I was asking essentially the same question as you and I think people misunderstood my intension as bashing btc. I have a lot of respect for SOME of Martin Armstrong’s take on how the world and money works…. He’s wrong about BTC but I admire his skepticism. He essentially thinks btc is a CIA or NSA created program. I don’t know if that’s a good argument or not. I was genuinely looking for opinions. Secondly, there was a gold vs btc debate with Michael Saylor and Frank Giustra that was an interesting debate with no theatrics or name calling. There needs to be big brothers and sisters, looking out for us, little guys and gals and helping paving the way guide us by scrutinizing. I believe in scrutinizing everything… Don’t you buy beer from the store and sniff it before you cook it and eat it?

I don't think any of the replies so far will satisfy your father because they don't get to the heart of the matter. What backs "fiat money"? Answer: laws and men with guns (cops, fbi, army, CIA, etc.). You mess with the petrodollar and the US will kill you (ask Sadam or Kadafi). You print your own money, the FBI will throw you in jail. You steal from people, the cops will arrest you (unless you are super rich, then they won't). You don't let them arrest you, they will shoot you. Fiat is backed by laws and men with guns. Most people who want to "fight the fed" fail understand this and simply think the fed is a big printing machine, rather than a part of a larger system of control (ie. manipulation). Bitcoin is defined by being backed by (ie. dependent upon) nothing. **As a result, btc can't be manipulated. That's its value.** In theory, bitcoin is what money is supposed to be... an unmanipulated form of exchange. There's a whole laundry list of benefits and potential negatives of bitcoin... but that's a different topic. At the core of it, and the whole reason btc was created, was that fiat is easily manipulated (and devalued) and btc is not. Fiat currently wins, though, because it's got men with guns behind it (it's the money society runs on). Btc will probably win long-term as people start wanting a medium of exchange that the government isn't stealing value from. Mind you, the gov may well make btc illegal or tax the shit out of it. So the future is still speculative.

# 6 Biggest Conspiracy Theories About Crypto: **(1) Blockstream: part1** Blockstream was accused by some of obstructing the Bitcoin Cash fork to maintain control over Bitcoin. **(2) Blockstream part 2** Another conspiracy theory suggests that Blockstream, backed by companies like MasterCard, intentionally hindered Bitcoin's development through the Bitcoin Core development team. **(3) Bitcoin is Controlled by the Deep State:** Around 2013, a website appeared claiming that the CIA created Bitcoin. The website, CiaProject.org (which no longer exists), suggested that the CIA essentially created Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as tools to move illegal funds. The mystery behind the creation of Bitcoin also lends some credence to this theory. No one knows who Satoshi Nakamoto is, and no one has ever come close to even uncovering the first clue about his identity. **(4) The Government Will Seize All Bitcoin:** This conspiracy theory is fairly recent, but that doesn’t mean it’s not important. Early in 2022, the author of the bestseller Rich Dad, Poor Dad, Robert Kiyosaki, made a chilling prediction on Twitter. The OG twitter text of the fool RK: *BYE-BYE BITCOIN: Prediction. Biden to sign EXECUTIVE ORDER regulating Cryptos. NEXT: Fed Crypto. NEXT: all crypto currencies seized & folded into GOVERNMENT crypto. “Let’s Go Brandon” you criminal. You commie.* **(5) New World Order:** In 2018, Danish firm BiChip released an update to their subdermal chip, which allows people to store the XRP token in their bodies. For a lot of people, that was just neat tech. But for others, it was just the proof they needed to realize that crypto was a vehicle for the Antichrist. **(6) Tether Isn’t 1:1** This one isn’t quite a conspiracy theory, as it has been proven true. When Tether first started releasing USD stablecoins, the company claimed that it had reserves that backed up all its coins. But this turned out to be false. In 2019, Tether had to disclose that its coins were not 100% backed by dollar reserves. Instead, they were only 74% supported by dollars and short-term securities. When Tether was forced to make that disclosure in court, the company had to change its claim on its website that it had reserves for every USDT on the market. Saved u 1 click ;)

r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

tldr; The article discusses six conspiracy theories surrounding cryptocurrencies. These theories include the belief that Blockstream hindered the scalability of Bitcoin to retain control, the idea that the CIA created Bitcoin as a tool for illegal funds, the prediction that the government will seize everyone's Bitcoin, the notion that storing money in the body through subdermal chips is a sign of the Antichrist, the revelation that Tether's claims of being fully backed by reserves were false, and the importance of being aware of conspiracy theories in the crypto landscape. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. Lets break this down from the beginning. Yes, you could invest in Mercedes, but if you think you are helping the company, you are heavily mistaken. You are one of many investors and the company won't ask you what you want (not really), they'll just assume you want to make money from your investment and squeeze every bit of profit they can to make you happy -- without asking. This often means squeezing their staff, paying less, marketing more, and spending a bucket load on things like tax avoidance. Bitcoin isn't a stock in a company. It is a technology. This is difficult for many to understand, but I'll start by separating Bitcoin from "crypto" which ARE company products that are managed like businesses, and trade like stocks. You in the privileged position you're in, don't see the many who can't get a bank account, who can't participate in commerce online even if they have access to a smartphone, who are having their bank accounts shut down for being associated with the wrong person, for having the wrong opinion, or for having the wrong ethnicity or living in the wrong location. Bitcoin has the potential to help all of these people, and for those who are embracing it, it is working for them too. Why should YOU buy Bitcoin, I say you shouldn't. Not yet, first you should just invest a considerable amount of time to learn about it. It's much cheaper but much more fulfilling. It just costs more of your most valuable asset: time. I'll give a brief history for you to chew on: - Before banks, we were able to have a society. - Before banks became digitised and accessible via the internet, a cryptographer called David Chaum introduced a very sound way to make money online behave like cash. That is, it didn't rely on "accounts", and you could preserve some sense of privacy while banking and doing commerce online. Banks did not adopt the technology, instead preferring the type of system where surveillance could run wild. - A group of cryptographers saw how the internet was going to evolve years before it happened, and they understood the value of privacy. They called themselves "cypherpunks". - These people tried to create digital cash in many forms way before Bitcoin came about. All with the goal of preserving people's financial privacy, much like cash does, and to allow a system to exist that focused on the main purpose of banking... to facilitate trades and financial activities. All either failed, or got shut down by governments in anti-competitive ways. - Banks and governments collude in all countries. In 2009, we had a terrible situation that was caused by the abuse of money, supported by all that collusion. Today, it is just systemic; there is no way to fix this and those most affected are powerless to do anything about it. - Around this same time, a person or persons called Satoshi Nakamoto released a new idea, a new attempt at creating a bank or money system, using many of the ideas in previous iterations, but with a few key differences: 1. it has its own unit, it isn't backed by anything else, so it requires no pegging or any other sort of human management. 2. It runs on anyone's computer, it can't be shut down because it isn't run by a company or a single entity... this is much like other peer to peer technologies like Torrents. - Governments, CIA, MI6, whatever.. they all slept on Bitcoin, and now its just not possible to take down. Early in the first couple of years or so, yeah it was possible. Today it is way past being even affordable for anyone, no matter how rich or how much control of the money you have. - Many of us saw Bitcoin, got curious and learnt so much about so many things. Austrian economics is a good place to start. - Bitcoin has since helped people preserve their savings across borders when fleeing their countries... Their banks won't serve them in another country and gold or valuables will often be confiscated as you cross the border. Bitcoin was the only thing you could have on the internet (like a bank account) that isn't restricted to you from any location or at any time. - Bitcoin has encouraged people to go around and actually teach people about money because now the topic is actually simpler than trying to learn how fiat money works. Trust me, it is. And the fact that you see it as an investment opportunity, it is simpler money that works better than fiat. - A lot of us are speculating for sure, but we're not speculating that next year we will have twice as much more dollars, we are speculating that in 10 years or more, many more people will learn about and figure out how much they need bitcoin and with a fixed supply, with more demand, the value of the Bitcoin goes up. This is basic economics 101. Volatility is nothing with this in mind. - We have learned that our money is constantly being devalued by our governments, and we understand that this is why we can't afford anything, why everyone basically HAS to invest in something like stocks today to even survive (because your money becomes worthless over time, so you can't use money for saving with). - We have seen the light, we understand that Bitcoin can help us, and as we learn more about it, we learn how it helps others too and we suddenly realise it is a moral imperative. It is a force for good and banks and our banking system is a force for net evil.

It should be a red flag when you have all of the following in place: (1) Price underperforms BTC/ETH (2) Founded by a known compulsive liar (Charles Hoskinson) who lied for years about his degrees held and lied about being in a PhD program, lied about working for the CIA, and everyone on the originally Ethereum team is quoted with only bad things to say about him or no things to say about him, saying he was an ego-maniac pathologic liar who never did any work and was along for the ride, would go back to his hotel and just talk about how rich they would be all day and sleep in while everyone else was pulling all-nighters working their asses off. Charles once rushed an update for smart contracts against the Devs wishes when they said it wasn’t ready just so he could win a twitter bet (wait, I thought it was slow and steady peer review? oh, and who the fuck is doing the peer review? Not the full community but just delusional ADA holders). Cardano will never succeed so long as Charles is in charge. (3) Imagine if Satoshi just initialized the bitcoin blockchain with millions of tokens in his wallets, some of which he kept for himself and his friends and others that he sold in an ICO? **Fucking shitcoin!** Anyone who does that has a 99%+ chance of failure and they are in it just to enrich the founders and everything else is secondary. Ethereum is the only crypto in history that did that shitcoin tokenomics crap and was aboe to succeed and bring longterm appreciation to token holders. 100% of the rest have failed to deliver like Ethereum did. (4) After all this, *no one uses Cardano!* It’s still a ghost chain with a small niche group of Charles’ friends and insider devs generating all the traffic for what? Minting worthless NFTs that are copycats of successful ones on Ethereum? Copying DeFI/DEX ideas from Ethereum and having several orders of magnitude fewer users with the gap widening in the “wrong” direction for them? Cardano will fail, I guarantee you 100% as will all these other shitcoins. I’ce warned morons like you again and again over the decades and watched these projects come and go, with only BTC, ETH, and some projects that didn’t premine like Monero have staying power. You won’t listen to me, I understand, but you sure will *WISH* you had of you plan on holding ADA as an investment!

As a boomer, I take all these stories with a hefty pinch of salt. Over the decades we've been told all sorts of things about our enemies that later turn out to be false. It was CIA dealing drugs, the Marine Corps dealing arms, Russia never had any fearful weapons (cold war era), no WOMADs after all and so on. It is possible that one day we discover these hacks were by the FBI and/CIA. You just don't know because govts have a long history of lying and the most absurdly elaborate cover-ups

>with the CIA when you're developing a completely anarchic monetary system? Satoshi's final email expresses frustratation with Gavin Andresen's behavior, as Gavin had met with CIA and was fanning the flames of conspiracies about Satoshi Nakamoto's identity to the press and seemed to be in talks with His post details his reasoning. I may not agree but he has his reasons.

It's funny how we usually say 'alleged' when we catch people stealing on camera or literally caught in a bank with a gun. But it's always definitive that it was North Korea that hacked and stole crypto just because. Never the CIA or competent domestic hackers/thieves. Always the North Koreans. And no one doubts it for a second.

When children are starving and illiterate, they don't grow up to be great hackers, even if they "got a job with the government". So they can figure out advanced hacking, but they can't figure out how to grow corn? Come the fuck on. There are two choices here. 1. We are being lied to about the extent of how North Koreans live. It's more like an advanced western country than everyone being illiterate and starving to death 2. They are in fact illiterate and starving and they are used as a scapegoat for the activities of CIA and Mossad. Considering their nuclear program, I'm more inclined towards 1. "Sir! Our citizens aren't very productive because they can't read and they are starving. What should we do?" "Train hackers to steal from Crypto wallets! Yes, that's the ticket!" "But sir, our GDP, productivity and wealth generation would be much higher if people were educated and well fed." "HAHAHAH what is that to the few billion we could get from hacking, you fool!" No, it still doesn't make sense.

Satoshi's dissapearence has been linked to a meeting with the cia and a bitcoin dev Satoshi was interacting with developers for months after that... it wasn't "the day before he disappeared". I believe the last interaction w/ Satoshi was when a bitcoin developer was invited to meet with the CIA. It seems to me that people just repeat that in order to smear wikileaks.

Unlikely. The CIA/FBI/etc were well positioned to monitor the community and the people in it's activities, especially in 2010/11, before the justice department clamped down on a lot of the warrantless wiretapping/secret warrant shenanigans. They almost certainly just wanted to know more about the technology, probably because it was being used by other individuals they were monitoring. Like drug traffickers, human traffickers, etc. If they hadn't gotten the info from him they would have gotten it from someone else, possibly someone less knowledgeable about the tech, and that may have actually lead to real attempts to sabotage the tech or a government crackdown on the whole system based on how it was being used.

I think that Gavin did nothing wrong by giving that presentation. BTC is an open-source code after all. It was a part of a conference organized by the CIA called "The CIA and Emerging Technologies." Gavin did not hide that he will be there, and he discussed his experience on forums later. Just because he was there, doesn't mean that he had a close relathionship with them. However it was more then enough to spark conspiracy theories because Satoshi's last email was sent in the same month when the conference was held - April, 2011. I think his part was pure tehnical explanation.

>In 2011 Gavin was invited to give a presentation about Bitcoin in the CIA. The CIA must have wanted to know everything of how this new technology worked and chose Gavin to speak about it. Tbh it sounds like bait. CIA was just trying to know who was doing what in the community and such an invitation, if accepted, would spare them some resources. I might need a tin-foil, yeah, but ain't taking chances on this one.
