Call of Duty DMZ has a great advice for everyone!

Smart contracts are tricky and very rarely understood by the layperson. Even coders get duped by them. Just assume every contract is suspect. Use the DMZ approach and you'll see them as they come. It starts to get funny when they give you an error such as "Insufficient ETH balance in your wallet!" And you're doing something with an entirely different token. That's a hint. Most are run by bots, so they go ultra fast. Even if you disconnected a few seconds later it would be too late, and since most people don't disconnect at all, they can keep draining.

So for the future, always use a kill wallet or DMZ approach. I use metamask. Myself, use that wallet to handle connections to unknown sites or new contracts. Then, when you know something is good, transfer the funds to your real wallet. This gives you at least a two layer approach so you're never making a contract with an unknown site with your good wallet that has big balances. Yes, it might result in more fees, but hey, isn't that cheaper than your entire wallet being drained?

tldr; Hashgraph has provided funding to Metacourt to support the launch of DMZ's mainnet. This move is part of Hashgraph's efforts to foster the development and deployment of decentralized technologies. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. According to an announcement published on Wednesday, The Hashgraph Association has issued a grant to Metacourt AG following plans to support the launch of its Decentralized Metacourt Zone (DMZ) Mainnet. Following its design, DMZ will function as a virtual economic RWA aggregator aimed at simplifying tokenization processes for startups & big businesses.

With the launch of the mainnet, DMZ Metacourt, businesses, startups, and enterprises will be able to utilize this innovative tokenization protocol and token launchpad. The protocol will allow users to create governance tokens and RWAs using the no-code solution. Apart from the no-code feature, some of the other key benefits of DMZ Metacourt platform include EVM compatibility, ease of use, full automation, and secure end-to-end management, from contract token creation to money distribution and stakeholder management. Tom Krzystek, CEO and Founder at Metacourt AG, said, “Being in the Web3 space from 2019, Metacourt AG has garnered a lot of experience creating projects in DeFi and the gaming space. Creating the DMZ protocol, we have leveraged this experience and put together the best practices to address the simplicity of creation, user needs, and scalability. We are certain that the system will not only appeal to the Web3 space, but to the traditional users as well, as we believe that the world is gearing to merge both Web2 and Web3 in the coming years.”

Probably very slightly easier.  We use a lot of English lone-words in South Korea.   They like to use pure Korean uninfluenced by English.   I dont speak Korean very well but, I am typing this from a place near the Korean DMZ

socks5 proxy hides your outbound connection, not inbound. to allow people to connect to you, open the necessary ports on your router/firewall/machine, and expose the bitcoin service on the correct interface/port on your machine. in the case of a typical home network, you may need to set up a DMZ, or a rule on your router, to route inbound connections to a specific LAN IP.

I have to run my node through the clearnet because my ISP uses CGNAT but I haven't had any issues. As a precaution though I also run a hardware DMZ/Firewall appliance before my node which filters all incoming connections.

I would run one if i could get it to work on tor only but everytime i tried to set it up i cant manage to connect to it from my wallet from outside my own lan network and yes ive tried both opening ports, DMZ, upnp etc which shouldnt even be necessary since tor is a firewall breaker. So if anyone could provide me with a recent guide how to get this working id be grateful.

My layman explanation is: There is a chip on the hardware wallet that knows your seed. When you want to interact with your coins through the associated wallet on your pc, it will require having that hardware wallet plugged in. Upon initiating a transaction, the hardware wallet will confirm that the wallet is yours by some simplified measure, weather through a pin or sample of your seed words. If that checks out, essentially a 'yes' will be sent from the device to the PC to confirm the transaction. The power in it is that (in an ideal world and seemingly not ledger after all the drama) the chip that houses the seed can only interact with the other chip in the device through a simple true/false statement, preventing the possibility of the device being hacked whilst plugged in. I used the term 'chip' in the above paragraph because that is what I envision it to be, I'm actually unsure if it's all done through a pseudo VRM inside the device or if there are actual DMZ circuits. With ledger, it appears the seed is not strictly in a DMZ part of the device unfortunately.

Take a border trip and just sprint across the DMZ line and you'll be in NK. You'll likely die tho so tell your family bye first before leaving.

Right??!! Make all the DMZ contracts worth so much money for different difficulty, hunt squads worth the most because the payout would go to the victor regaurdless of who took the contract. COD money could be spent in game too and directly linked to a wallet (likely a special activision account tied to Meta Mask or something. All this would be optional of course, you could still earn cod points sort of like MOONS on here but you wouldnt have any real use utility until you connect a wallet.

Wait a minute some! People would put foreign device on their network that they have no control over and that routes other people connection through. Are they insane? Why would you risk some stranger doing crazy or illegal stuff through your network. Not to mention putting your network in risk if you are not knowledgeable enough to put that device in DMZ. This is just crazy stuff.

Maybe. But not a retail VPN. I was definitely using one as I keep mine on most of the time. All of those IP's are blacklisted and known. It would need to be an openvpn hanging off your own home DMZ to circumvent their security. I'm pretty sure they are watching where you are resolving their server names from as well.

I'd suggest never running any downloaded file from an untrusted source If you need to download software from alleged clients, I'd have had a seperate PC or virtual machine that you use for this / air gap as much as possible Run it in the DMZ on your network / seperate network With different credentials to your person / trusted work computer infrastructure Have a different phone number for financial / crypto activities so that regular voice calls don't give away a potential SMS spoofing attack vector Have a different email address for financial / crypto activities so that untrusted email threads don't give away a potential email spoofing attack vector Have a different email address / password for each financial / crypto service so that if one gets compromised it doesn't give away the keys to the kingdom That should at least slow down any potential bad actors Good luck staying safe everyone And I hope the authorities can help the OP recover his losses

I think telling the masses to open a port on their firewall and then forward that port to their personal PC is more than a little scary. I've seen users try similar (just a different port number) with pretty clear instructions and end up putting their PC in a DMZ. I was roped in once they realized they couldn't print to the network printer. One of the benefits of an RPi is that it uses minimal resources and you can leave it up and running all the time because of this. If you're a linux person, you have all the wonky text screens your heart desires. But if you actually expect a GUI, because we are over 20% through the 21st century after all, Umbrel is a great OS with a Bitcoin (full) and Lightning node built in, along with an appstore. I would strongly recommend using dedicated hardware for a project like this, even if it was just a second PC, and keeping it on a segregated network, like a DMZ. Umbrel does the tunneling itself but I still keep mine in front of my personal firewall.

First of all, predicting future negative events that will have major impacts on markets is foolish as they can’t reliably be predicted. But if you must attempt to predict, Russia’s goal in the Ukraine conflict is capturing Ukrainian territory on the border with Russia in the style of NK/SK DMZ. They are 2/3 of the way done with this process. Once they’ve managed to achieve capturing the remaining 1/3, they will come to the table in some type of compromise. My estimate for this is about 6 months from now. The China/Taiwan issue is really a non-issue blown up by the media due to Pelosi’s travels. My prediction is this will die down and China will not provoke Taiwan any further, at least in the near future. Global supply chain issues will continue improving as China lifts its zero covid policy (as they’ve already started doing). They cannot maintain this forever without doing irreparable harm to their economy, and many Chinese business owners are becoming increasing vocal about this. Taking into account everything I just mentioned, I believe there’s a good 80% chance we’ve already hit the bottom, which imo would make now the time to buy.

As long as you don't use the device for anything else (no email, surfing, etc) and have a reasonably modern firewall on your home network (and device is not DMZ'd) , this isn't necessary IMHO unless you're running like Windows XP or something.

Do Kwon is a double agent though, but not the typical kind. He works for both countries. It was why Donald Trump met with Kim at the DMZ; they were discussing a plan to use Do Kwon to transfer crypto wealth from the little guy to the powerful bankers. /tinfoil hat

Ukraine wants it to stop and Russia has been facing too much more resistance than it expected at the start of the operation. I don't think Putin would want to keep carrying on for too much longer. It's been an utter failure so far. He's likely going to compromise and split the country in half and make it into a DMZ. At least that's the sentiment I'm getting from reading the news online.

Sure, but if the US started massing troops on say, the DMZ, Kim would be pretty twitchy for good reason.

No one ever wants bad things; but they happen I put it in my post that we can all act as if nothing is happening and play pretend. Which we've been doing for 20+ years When chemical weapons where used in Syria I genial thought this was it. Every rule has been broken. Hell Iraq was over the idea of WMDs; here we had video evidence. But no, we went back to acting as if everything was normal Then there was the plane and all the shenanigans around elections and hacking. But nope we just going to act as if this is normal You may believe that it is moral to just sit back and watch but in reality similar to the past. Evil wins when good men do nothing If the world is going to actully sit and watch Easten Europe fall and be gutted then Taiwan, Kashmir, the DMZ are next As I said a lot of people are in denial until reality hits them in the face
