I've been eyeing XXII lately - tobacco company pivoting to reduced nicotine cigarettes. Volume's been picking up and they got some FDA stuff brewing. Not sure if it's gonna moon but the risk/reward looks decent to me 🚀 Anyone else looking at biotech plays? I'm getting tired of getting burned on these small cap pharma names but the potential catalysts are just too tempting lol. Been doing more DD on companies with actual revenue streams instead of just pipeline dreams What's everyone's take on this market? I'm seeing some wierd patterns where good earnings are getting punished and trash companies are running 20%. Makes no sense to me but I guess that's penny stocks for ya 📈

I think you're right, I conflated the two because the limits were the same. The personal exemption seems to come from the "Harmonized Tariff Schedule" Chapter 98 Subchapter IV (HTSUS 9804.00.65) (aka section XXII) so would not be affected.
Take a look at the shorts for MGOL and XXII guys. 98% shorts on both high risk high rewards, depending on how many stocks sell before they have to buy for the shorts. Any input is welcome of course
Both MGOL and XXII are garbage companies - MGOL just diluted shareholders with a [$6 million offering](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/mgo-global-announces-closing-upsized-195000630.html) and XXII has been burning cash for years with failed tobacco products. Short squeezes only work when there's actual buying pressure from investors who believe in the company, not just traders trying to engineer a squeeze.

Question yall: MGOL float is 2m and 98% is shorted XXII float is 500k and 98% also shorted Assuming these stocks got rallied, would a squeeze most likely happen?
XXII is in a unique position as the only company with [FDA-compliant reduced nicotine cigarettes that meet the new 0.7mg/g standard]. Their recent regaining of NASDAQ compliance and debt reduction from $13.3M to $3M shows they're getting their house in order. But the financials are still rough - negative margins, huge cash burn, and their VLN product only brought in $70k revenue over 9 months.
22nd Century (XXII) 89% of stock is short. On Trading 212 it's interest has ranged from 230-125% even though it has had 3 cases of positive news in the past 2 weeks.
89% of the stock seems to be short? https://www.benzinga.com/quote/XXII/short-interest Price has gone down even with the FDA, smokers partnership and NASDQ compliance. If 89% is short the buyback will be interesting.
I've seen on 2 sites that 89% of the stock is short. Surely that can't be right? https://www.statmuse.com/money/ask/what-is-the-short-interest-in-22nd-century https://www.benzinga.com/quote/XXII/short-interest

The stock splits took place in 2023 (1:16) and in 2024 (1:15). So if you had bought 1 share before the stock splits, it would be equal to 0.0041666666666667 XXII shares today. Or to put it more simply, today's price per share x240 is the value before the splits
XXII - 22nd century group. its fire fam no cap fr fr. gonna moon fr
Sales growth 22nd Century Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: XXII) is expanding VLN cigarette sales and marketing to more retail outlets in the US and internationally. As of September 2024, VLN cigarettes are available in about 5,100 stores across 26 states, but the company plans to expand to over 270,000 retail outlets. Pilot programs 22nd Century is also conducting pilot programs in Switzerland, Japan, and South Korea. In South Korea, VLN cigarettes are being re-launched in partnership with Nico-Tech, and a full launch event is planned for fall 2024.
it could be that, if XXII ever succeeds in what it is they say they're trying to do, it's going to be huge... isn't it basically a nicotine-less tobacco?
You can find by the name of 22nd century group or just XXII
didn't they waste time/resources on a side business into a cannabis grow op, which burned down, which they then sold for pennies on the dollar? be that as it may, the tobacco replacement thing has the potential to be huge... wait, it's not 'fake tobacco', but tobacco with low/no nicotine... "22nd Century Group, Inc., a tobacco products company, engages in the sale and distribution of its own proprietary new reduced nicotine tobacco products. The company offers reduced nicotine content tobacco plants and very low nicotine combustible cigarette products. It also provides contract manufacturing services for conventional combustible tobacco products for third-party brands. The company was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Mocksville, North Carolina." [https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/XXII/](https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/XXII/)

XXII Larry Firestone now at the helm. 95% less nicotine cigarettes. I am a 50+ year smoker who quit using these cigarettes. Buy while it's a penny stock. There is not a smoker out there who does not want to decrease the addiction or quit altogether.
I am looking at XXII. That seems to have bottomed on the technical side also, and some volume has come in.
I’m in VVOS and XXII. Don’t ask me why but I’ve make 21k this week so I got money to lose. AMC gains not shown but I paper handed and only made 3 stacks https://preview.redd.it/npgf2kunho0d1.png?width=1044&format=png&auto=webp&s=9d4020a8c17db3683ce616ed0d9ef8fe468a991d
Might be time to sell those last 3 shares of XXII. I had a few hundred at one point, must have been some reverse splits when I was high. Then use that to offset gains from selling some DFEN I've held for 5 years. And I should probably invest that $80k that's been sitting in cash in my brokerage account for 3 years. I'm gonna go get high first though.
Still got a bag of $MULN and $XXII
Right now, I'm in trade mode. I've played with them for a couple of years, and honestly, I don't even know if I've made any significant profit. Once I'm in invest for the future mode, I plan to put a chunk into them and hold a while. They seem to be slowly getting their shit together. But I'm no expert. My only real win lately is XXII, which went fucking nuts today, but I couldn't day trade any of the profits.
Great thread.... My strategy is similar to yours. The only difference is that I don't trade options. In early 2023, I started with $1000 and slowly lost $730 by 2023. Stopped trading and got busy in my full time job. I watched market every day though. Started trading again with $270 in February 2024 and grew account to $1780 then lost $600 in a week cuz I broke my rules. Now climbing back up. Sitting at $1413. I mostly trade penny stock and my daily goal is $30, but most of the time I managed to make more than that. Today (April 4), I lost $14 in $XXII, but it ripped later. Very challenging for me to trade at work....lol
I am thinking that because there too much biopharma stock that is trending this week that is why the volume in x4 was so low, most of the attention are in XXII and CADL, the next few weeks are gonna pop for XFOR

22nd Century Group (XXII). What are your thoughts?
XXII calls before EPS on 3/7. At 14 cents a pop it can't get any worse
sometimes it's hard to tell... probably as good a gamble as some of the other penny stocks... if they actually execute their strategy, and have this top-selling cigarette substitute rolling off of the shelves of mini-marts and tobacco stores all over the country... XXII will actually be huge...
I have the following positions (stocks trading below $1) right now, and I have a Gain to Pain Ratio of 10 for all my positions, so my price targets for these are in all cases >= 200% from current levels. - XXII, long term Calls - VWE - HLTH - DNMR
I am Dumb Money. This product helped me quit smoking after 50+ years, so I bought the stock. I am hoping they finally getting their shit together. Please help keep it on the market. I have a feeling big tobacco wants it to fail. @ 18 cents a share can you spare some change to help. It needs to reach all the markets. $XXII VLN® cigarettes are **made with 22nd Century Group's U.S. grown tobacco**. Our specially developed tobacco has 95% less nicotine than “Big Tobacco's” standard high-nicotine tobacco.
XXII is planning, as earlier suggested in this sub, to do a reversed split. I’m exiting the stocks with a small loss, but keeping the long term Call options for a potential ’success’ in terms of a turn-around.
At the end of yesterday’s session there were interesting moves in EBS and XXII and I will look at them closely today to see if they continue. EBS is quite heavily shorted, so a move upward could trigger an ever bigger one. And XXII has an upcoming extra GM which is usually bad news, but volumes and prices of long term calls looks positive. So, an interesting short term bet.
My current long positions, with profit takers ~ 10 ATRs from entry and tight stops, are: - $EBS - $HLTH - $XXII - $AHCO - $DNMR - $VWE Fairly low volume, and high short ratio, on some of them, so, if volume on buying side take off, it will trigger more buying. And, if price go against my direction, risk is limited.
Not as far as I can see, but again, I might be wrong. https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/XXII?p=XXII
