At current market prices? I'll use my setup and extrapolate. I've paid ~$15,000 in hardware, and get 800 MH/s in ETH, 525 MH/s in RVN. Right now RVN is more profitable, making ~$40 a day. That would be $14,600 in profit per year, after accounting for power. So double what I have would make you your $25,000, and it would cost ~$30,000. This would be absolutely impossible in a dorm though, the power draw would be such that you need several dedicated 20 amp circuits, which a dorm does not have. It would also generate a massive amount of heat and noise which would not be something you can hide from an RA.

People who fomo in because libes are not TAers. TAers show probable outcomes based on personally selected fundamets they see have merit at that moment. No serious TAer fomos. RA is a “boring” cold job that doesn’t give definite answers but brings up more questions. This might be mean to say but I learned early on you can’t save everyone. You can talk to him, tell his parents, inform the RA or college medical and such but addicts are going to be addicts.
