Because the narrative this cycle is centered around RWAs. Outside of ETH the coins that you’re holding have zero DeFi relevance. If you look at the chains people are actually using (ETH, HYPE, SOL, LIT, ARB, etc…) they’ve all been doing pretty well.

Did run your portfolio through our portfolio risk engines at [Sentralis.io](https://sentralis.io) (free accounts are available, so you can play around with the different scenarios yourself) and this is the result: At yesterday's prices the five positions are worth about $49K, split HYPE 36%, SOL 26%, PUMP 19%, LIT 12% and SKR 7%. LIT and SKR have less than a month of price history in our data, which is too short to model. The risk numbers below therefore cover the HYPE, SOL and PUMP positions only,( 81% of the portfolio). Several commenters treated this portfolio as one single altcoin bet, and the data does not fully support that view. Over the past year the pairwise correlations between HYPE, SOL and PUMP were between 0.51 and 0.66, while BTC, ETH and SOL were at 0.86 to 0.90 with each other over the same period. The difference showed in the replay of the bear market from October 2025 to July 1. SOL fell 66% and PUMP fell 78% in that period, while HYPE gained 29%. That period on your current weights gives a loss of 26%, against 51% for BTC alone. The 26% loss in depends entirely on the rise of HYPE. If HYPE had fallen as much as SOL did, the same replay would show a loss of about 69%. The cost of holding these three coins is volatility. Together they run at about 81% annualized volatility, which is close to double the 43.5% of BTC. I simulated one year forward from current volatility and correlations, with no price trend assumed in either direction. In the worst 5% of simulated outcomes the three positions lose 69% or more. Seven out of ten simulated paths go through a drawdown of at least 50% at some point during the year, and one in five goes through a drawdown of 70%. All simulation figures in this reply are model estimates under the stated assumptions, and they are not predictions. You wrote that you can manage a drawdown and would start to DCA into it again, so the drawdown sizes matter for how much cash you keep aside. One in four simulated paths ends the year at double the starting value or more. 97% of those winning paths still went through a drawdown of at least 30% on the way. A 30% drawdown is therefore what this portfolio does even in a good year, and a 50% drawdown is what it does in most years.

Honestly, with $140 I wouldn't diversify, would keep everything in LIT. Bet on the asset that has more potential to multiply (but also more risk, of course). I'm saying this as someone that has both coins, HYPE and LIT. I think HYPE is better, more established and with a clear path to the US market. But LIT could skyrocket if somehow HYPE suffers a setback, like volume decreasing if they need to add KYC.

comments here are kind of disgusting i really think if going to look at alts in crypto, need to look at large caps that generate a lot of revenue, and importantly the revenue gets captured into the value of the token. there really isn't many coins that fit this category, which makes things actually quite simple, yet people will twist themselves into intellectual pretzels coming up with reasons to bid vaporware instead. HYPE, PUMP, LIT. profitable stocks on NASDAQ w/ strong crypto exposure - HOOD & PURR save yourself a lot of time and money and just deeply research these. otherwise you're better off with just BTC, ETH or SOL man.

I don't think we will have a broad altseason where every coin pumps, like we did in other cycles. Too many coins now, so it's very important that you select good coins to hold. I also think that many dino coins from the past won't have a good performance, like XRP, ADA, XLM. The coins that will pump will be the ones that generate revenue, like HYPE, LIT, PUMP.

They are insiders for the coins they shill. If you buy their coins, you will simply be their exit liquidity. My two biggest gainers lately are a 3x on $HYPE and 3.5x on $LIT. I did not decide to make those buys by listening to any of those clowns. Furthermore, trying to go for a 50x is not smart. A 3x is an awesome ROI.

Obviously, Lighter is significantly undervalued relative to the earnings multiples Hyperliquid trades at. Don't really buy the argument of the LIT token equity structure as the cause. This is especially weird when you think Lighter probably has fewer regulatory hurdles and better access to grow outside the crypto bubble. The more plausible explanation is that the market sees the perp market has peaked and is now heavily discounting growth for the whole sector. So you end up struggling to find new marginal buyers to push Lighter up to Hyperliquid's multiples. So Hyperliquid's valuation is being sustained by hype and supply control. Not surprising when you pay attention and start to see the narrative of dot HLs pushing "Hype as money" rather than just the "equity of a DEX".

I think it's a good idea to have a separate browser as replied to another comment here. I keep my main browser plugin-free for that purpose. I use LND and honestly it just works. You have to do a bit of command line tinkering or you use LIT (lightning terminal). I have not yet had the reason to look into umbrel.

I would wait till you hit 3x ETH, and take out whatever you put in. That way you have double what you put in just sitting as pure profit. 2x profit is great and if you are risk averse, it wouldn’t be a horrible idea to pull out then. And I totally feel you, I’m not in on CRO but I’ve been stacking DOT like crazy waiting for it to pop. For context, that you may or may not be familiar with, but tons of DOT was locked into parachain auctions that are just unlocking now. They were 2 year contracts to fund projects like CFG, LIT and such. Those took place around 2021-2022 and were absolutely huge. So lots of DOT is going to be sold on the market this year. Don’t be discouraged by the low price movement. Those parachains were often (not always though) incredibly successful. This means the ecosystem is very active and has great projects being built. Give it time.

This is due to ETH devs not changing the issuances in a very long time. It’s “baked” or “priced” in. If that ever changes, let’s say, tomorrow ETH passes an EIP to boost APY by increasing issuance, we would see that “priced in” value decrease as well. The market decides what they price in. In that event, the market can definitely say that if the devs touched supply now they will do it again. Right now it’s the flip side. They haven’t touched supply so it’s assumed they won’t. But there is no rule that they can’t so it’s “priced” in and not “locked” in. > If an unchecked amount was added during the bear market, I cant imagine it maintaining a bottom. Just saying, it only helped in this scenerio. ??? This is hard to answer. If it was a significant amount and insta dumped on the market then yes it would crater as ETH in the overall market perspective, is an illiquid asset. If the dollar prints $1T we see some inflation (right now they printed way more than that and we see 8-12%) but if ETH tried to print out $1t it would reach zero so fast it would never happen. ETH being deflationary makes price discovery harder when inflows are restricted as well. It does the same effect on the flip side. Most restricted, or deflationary assets can not keep this balance and experience “liquidity crunches” etc. too much restricted supply can be terrible and many many people get screwed in liquidity crunches. > -Look at Dogecoin the hated meme, with an ever increasing supply. *Rapidly May I add. Even with the huge amount of inflows decreased as of late. I’m glad you brought this up. This is a great example of “too much liquidity”. More DOGE is coming in than fiat to match it. Which is causing depreciation. There is a balancing act. Typically, traditional assets, you like to see 2-3% inflation per year. On restricted commodities we see squeezes and crunches all the time. We see increases in volatility which is not good. You want a stable and steady rise and drop. So I’m a nutshell, we have ETH with a supply that’s priced in to be untouched, a deflationary aspect, and a locking aspect. There are a ton of CONs to this. One of the pros is that during periods of high inflows this will increase the price. The CON is that, just like we saw with meme stocks, if you restrict the supply and lose liquidity of the underlying on LIT markets(where me and you can buy) that doesn’t mean someone else can’t just borrow a bunch from someone like grayscale and dump it on a illiquid market, with low circulating supply due to the aforementioned features laid out above. Causing volatility. Which for something that wants to be a currency and derives it’s security from the underlying, is not something you want to happen. Example: there’s 100 ETH. 75% is staked leaving 25. 5 is held in institutions and the other 20 is held in retail markets. Bull run happens, that 20 turns to 10. Dumping the 5 on the market now during a liquidity crunch will net you 50% more price depreciation. Increasing volatility both ways. Something that doesn’t use a locking mechanism, and has 2% inflation will have less volatility with the same amount of institutional ownership and be able to find its “bottom” and “top” more smoothly. BTC and ETH currently aren’t too far off from each other and I’m using extreme scenarios. I think something like only 30% of ETH is staked so my examples are more extremes but more so to drive a point. In the future however, BTC moves more to a 0% (maybe even slightly deflationary) while ETH will be incredibly deflationary with significant portion of the ETH locked(albeit short term). any type of locking increases volatility, deflation does as well, and it makes price discovery that much harder. Which is why I’m saying it doesn’t really matter at this point and actually works against ETH in more scenarios than it doesn’t.

I think I agree with your thesis. The most prevalent way this is revealing itself at the moment is the current “Bitcoin isn’t crypto.” It’s like saying “the US Dollar isn’t a currency.” It runs on the same technology as every other cryptocurrency the only difference is that it has no oversight like ETH or LIT, heck even Doge for example. Just because you’re the first doesn’t mean you’re somehow not a cryptocurrency. I get wanting to distance yourself from shitcoins, but I think this angle is taking things to far.
