Funny store I was at a dealership running the new vehicle side and one of my sales reps had a young lady ( 19-20) trying to buy a Corolla but she didn’t make enough for the 340.00 payment for TFS to approve. When I went to talk to her I saw a wedding band on her finger and I asked if her husband could co sign ( for additional income reasons). She said he doesn’t work a real job he mines Bitcoin. At that time I knew of Bitcoin but nothing past CNBC talking about it. Out of ignorance in my head a thought Lazy bastards (This was someone where between 2011 and 2013). Curious but dumbfounded I asked how many can he mine a day. She said about 1/3 per day (I believe at that time it was about 240 per BTC). In hindsight the kid was making about 10.00 and hour, based on a typical 8 hour work day. ( back then minimum wage was like 5.75). We could not use that as income.. pretty wild
The company will utilize Hedera’s Consensus Service (HCS) to help achieve its mission to become the secure Dropbox for critical data with TFS Lite™ – and eventually for any data – because when it comes to protecting information, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Currently, the average cost of a data breach in the US is $9.4 Million and it’s estimated the big data market will be worth $229.4 Billion by 2025. The risks posed by vulnerable data security are serious enough that the FBI Director has stated that defending against ransomware attacks is comparable to the challenge of combating global terrorism.
tldr; Taekion has launched a private beta of its TFS Lite platform on the Hedera mainnet. TFS Lite allows entire files and computer file systems to be stored on the blockchain, making them encrypted, immutable, and tamper-proof. The platform aims to become a secure Dropbox for critical data, providing complete file immutability, availability guarantees, and end-to-end encryption. Taekion's network has been peer-reviewed and tested with the United States Air Force. The platform uses the Hedera Consensus Service for file integrity and the Open Source Sawtooth Blockchain for distributed storage. TFS Lite offers benefits such as personalized file access, support for arbitrary file sizes, privilege control, and the ability to update, append, or delete files. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. I like Saifs contrarian attitude generally but find his denial of climate change goes a little too far. I found TFS harder to read or accept to conclusions of then TBS...but both are still excellent if sometimes challenging, books.
Interesting to see Tron stats among other giants. TFS
