Surprisingly enough, FDA approval isn't an instant moonshot. As a matter of fact, more stage 3 biotechs tend to lose value post approval for various reasons. You will usually see a nice bump on the news, but if you're looking for multiples, you're going to be disappointed more often than not, especially since the calendar doesn't address things like total addressable market or whether or not there will be competition on the market. If you're going to play it, you want to find one that is entering a new market with a decent size (pay attention to the company's market cap because that matters too). Try and buy in a few months before the announcement, especially if you see some nice technical signals. Hold through the announcement and sell. It's not unusual to get 2 or 3x over a few months, but even that can be risky because rarely is a small cap biotech profitable. Hold too long though and you're a bag holder as these stocks tend to dilute fairly quick. The other option is to buy in advance and sell the potential news when the top like Phase 3 gets read out. I'm doing that right now with SLS and BCTX.
Not a penny stock, but for a little PM fun BCTX has rocket fuel ready to lift off for AH potentially. Been holding $10 all day and 0 shares to short with 177 CTB (very high) low float, perfect squeeze candidate with volume just my two cents. This morning ripped from $9-19 had cancer curing good PR this morning but DOES have a shelf offering
You sold Hydrograph because it will take years and I don't dispute that between EPA approval, Texas facility buildout, scale of operations, etc yet they have potentially up to 75 customers including the US Army in the pipeline. Then you turnaround and reinvest in an even more speculate play on the OTC with a $30M market cap that's essentially worth nothing right now. Sure, you can essentially load the boat for $50-$100 and see what happens but I'm just trying to understand the logic here? I feel bad for totally hijacking this dudes DRTS thread. I missed the train on that one for sure, but biotech is so damn risky and I've been burned more than once. Still holding BCTX at a massive loss after getting RS.
6.8 million is a small float, but not "insanely" small any stretch. Just off the top of my head I can come up with a half dozen stocks that are often mentioned on this subreddit and have much smaller floats: FGL 4.84 CYCU 2.42 BCTX 1.67 SBFM 4.90 NUWE 1.63 IQST 3.29 Also, this is not currently "near the bottom of a massive range". LFS 52-week low is $1.68. Current price of almost 6 is nowhere near that. This is that stock that had an insane something like 800% run over a single 24 hr period a few weeks ago. That $12.49 52 high at the top of the range held for all of like 10 minutes. In the month before that insane run the range (from its IPO to the day before the run happened) the range was $1.68 to $4.20, and the trend was clearly downward ($4.20 was Oct 17 and $1.68 was Nov. 10). LFS could have another insane run. But there is no way to predict that, just like there was no way to predict the first run. Betting an another run like happened a few weeks is gambling, which is totally fine, just don't pretend it anything but that.
If SLS and BCTX both pop 150%+ I can get the number of INTS shares I originally had during its next offering.

I’m not into quick turnarounds anymore so I’m buying and holding in hopes of another interest rate cut in the next 1-2 months. $HGRAF - up to 9,500 shares after today’s purchase at $1.53 $MBOT - holding 3,500 shares long term $LAES - 600 or so shares…quantum is coming like it or not $RNXT- 1,500 shares waiting for FDA approval $BCTX - Got R/S 100 shares holding $SRFM - 600 or so shares. Electrifying Cessna’s and SurfOS My other plays are out of penny stock status. I’ve poured over months of information before investing big and you should too. No skin in the game, but I think $NUAI has an eventual path to profitability. Not financial advice.

Speaking of BCTX, I couldn't help it & jumped in for 2k at 0.62. I'm just unsure if I should jump out for the R/S and buy back if (when) sentiment kicks it in the teeth. Or jump out, puts & them back in?
MBOT filed a 510K in December 2024 so it's only a matter of days now. The company provided data where they went 20 for 20 on disposable robotic surgeries to the FDA. For BCTX I like the science (no I'm not a scientist). Their Phase 3 Bri-IMT studies are taking place in a number of live clinics nationwide such as Mayo, with topline data expected most likely in 1H2026. I could sell for a hefty loss right now or ride the split (critical for NASDAQ compliance) and see what happens in the future.
On MBOT, are you thinking it’s a 510(k)/De Novo or a full PMA? That’ll decide whether “1–2 months” is realistic or wishful. for BCTX’s 1-for-10 RS is mostly housekeeping for compliance, are you in for a specific catalyst (data/partner) or just trading the volatility?
I’m mostly out of Biotech other than BCTX which is set to reverse 1-10. On the medical devices side, waiting for MBOT to hopefully get FDA approval in the next 1-2 months. STXS hit for me a couple of weeks ago and is slowly rising. Biotech is just too damn risky and beaten down at this point.

I know warrants are the reason biotech is surpressed by short selling hedgefunds. And I had to learn it the hard way a few years ago. The recent warrants are indeed no good for BCTX. They will stay under the warrant strike price for some time. Do you agree on that ? That’s the way I see it at least. When I wrote the post, I knew about the offering, but the offering in February didn’t contain any warrants. So I hoped they would do it the same this time. All other outstanding warrants were at much much higher strike prices

I lurk on stocktwits and anytime someone mentions a stock that’s dropped? I do a little research. Currently on RNAZ. BCTX, MLGO and ELTP I spend my entire coffee drinking morning looking at this stuff. Some times I make it. Sometimes I don’t.

Stock is acting well on their recent news. My experience in biotechs is that the sector does well in the first six months of the year when Biotech conferences are going on.

These early stage biotechs are super risky. A catalyst sends it up ordown 50%. BCTX management spun off PAVM into their own shitco. Just take a gander at that chart. Down like 90%
