But the board as a whole is not taking their marching orders from Trump. The administration sees her as a perfect example of someone they can make an example of to get the rest of the board in line. Shes a black woman nominated by Biden. Now they have found these examples of “fraud”. Plus they can throw in a little “DEI” into their talking points and they have the cover from their base to fire her.
Hey, young man, want affordable college or a home? Sorry, getting rid of DEI was more important 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
\> looking for anything they can use as a wedge. The wedge is, as is so often the case, that she is a black woman. This much as the same as Trump targeting Arabs and Palestinians at universities, DEI programs at law firms, immigrants and Hispanics in the streets, and minorities in the military leadership. Part of the "wedge" is targeting disfavored classes that he knows Democrats won't really oppose, in order to establish a precedent for future action.
I’m on about how you assume a black woman must be a “DEI” hire. Why not just save us all time and admit you are racist?
Good, get all of Biden's DEI hires out of office. Maybe they can do the jobs the illegals used to do.
DEI's literal job by definition is to hire black women over white people just bc they are black. what are you on about?
Interesting. You sure it’s not just assuming every black women must be DEI that’s racist?
She was a DEI hire anyways.
She was a DEI hire anyways.
Lisa is not getting fired because she did a bad job. She's getting fired because she's a DEI hire. Those people are inferior because they weren't raised to take part in corruption to produce fake numbering.
They decided to get rid of a member of the FED. Markets will surly crash. Oh wait, it's a Biden era DEI hire. False alarm.
DEI think heterogeneous societies are spooky? I might smell a food I don't like.
> this idea that we can convince "them" that what's happening isn't democracy and isn't what america was founded on etc etc is pointless because they don't care. Please. Roughly 1/2 this subreddit was shitting all over Kamala for being fake or being a DEI/woke candidate.
Ahhh yes the woman with a degree from Oxford and a PHD in economics from Cal Berkeley is an unqualified DEI hire 😭😭 Reddit is hilarious.
I'm sure the Germans thought the same. Before the World Wars, the German Empire was unquestionably a world power, behind the US and Britain, and fast approaching them. The German Empire's status as a European power goes back to 1871, and then further back as Prussia to 1742. People have this view that their long-existing institutions and bureaucracy will somehow save them from the worst, when in truth these are the very tools the fascists take over to complete their power grab. The USA is already fucked; due to decades of education cuts, their population is incredibly dumb and thus very easy to manipulate. Their legislative leaders are either bought by the highest bidder, or serve entirely ideological goals, or both. Their media landscape is likewise entirely controlled by foreign or corporate interest groups, or both. Americans are asleep at the wheel, and I'm afraid it's not Jesus who is ready to take the wheel. The Republicans only need their idiot followers to stay glued to Fox News and the rest of the right-wing media apparatus which keeps telling them that somehow everything wrong in the USA is the fault of the democrats, or the trans, or the gays, or women, or leftists, or academia, or the universities, or the teachers, or the press, or the Jews, or Hamas, or Iran, or the immigrants, or the blacks, or China, or NATO, or Canada, or the Mexican government, or the drug cartels, or the FED, or interest rates, or trade deficits, or """wokeness""", or """DEI""", or whatever the fuck new enemy they need to come up with to keep the idiot populace angry enough to sacrifice their rights and cede power.
hahaha Wikipedia already updated that Cook was fired.......hilarious Looking at her resume, she's 100% academia and frankly had little qualification to even serve. She got in on a 51-50 vote with Harris as the tie breaker. Yeah, I get that things are contentious on both sides, but Cook was unquestionably an unqualified DEI hire - you guys that are upset are not doing your research, just letting your TDS lead you to regardium
Believe it or not I enjoy winning and I enjoy triggering you guys. It must suck that the Supreme Court keeps ruling in our favor and illegal immigrants are getting shipped to other countries. Also DEI initiatives getting annihilated. Lots of hurt feelings from those things so I get it man, Hope you are okay.
Damn of course he fires the black woman for maximum anti DEI 😂
Thank god the term DEI exists because it makes it far easier to block the racists on this app
Ahhh, yes, the person with a PhD in economics from Berkeley is the DEI hire says the chode who still lives in his mom's basement.
Let me guess... something something DEI?
She was a DEI placement anyway. About time, we get merit based.
If he says some coded shit about DEI, I'm gonna be really ticked off.
Commitment to DEI? You're praising companies the uphold DEI practices? Oh come on. This has gotta be satire.
Nah just some DEI libtard shlt. Don’t go against the majority
They’re now 10% owned by a corrupt and incompetent government who will absolutely use their influence to operate the company how they want. You think you’re going to get more fabs and favorable tariffs, what you’re really going to get is the removal of DEI, “anti woke” hiring practices, and a victim complex. If you were a highly educated, top level engineer, would you want to go work at Intel now more than before?
Thank fucking heaven Kumala didn't win and send the markets back to the stone age. That DEI appointment wanted to cap corporate profits and raise corporate taxes. We'd be in ww3 if she won. Sleepy had just approved long-range missiles in November. Kummy couldn't talk to a crowd that loved her, much less Putin or Xi. She would have been a set of Chinese finger cuffs for the Euro socialists. Now we have trillions flowing into the US and better deals with almost every trade partner. The border is closed after the previous "czar" let in millions of unvetted immigrants with a catch-and-release policy. We heard the fear his first time and markets went to ATH and unemployment went to all time lows before Covid. You'll miss the ride again this time after someone competent takes over the Fed. Or you think this "Inflation is transitory" Fed has a perfect record. They *relied on the data* until this admin took over. Now they want to wait and see what happens instead of simply relying on data. Rivers and houses and made-up fairy tale bullshit about "pops" have nothing to do with investing right now.
Guys, I am legitimately asking. What is DEI? Is it a special program to hire minorities? Also, if I am not following DEI but end up hiring someone from the minority, does it mean I am still following DEI? Does not following DEI mean only hiring white men? What if, let's say, I say I am not DEI anymore to appease someone but still keep hiring the same number of minorities?
That’s not what DEI is and you know it.
Every group has been historically discriminated at one point. Asians were put in concentration camps yet were the most negatively impacted by DEI and affirmative action. Woke is a regressive left wing ideology that emphasizes identity politics, social justice, and cultural sensitivity, often devolving into a toxic cult of victimhood, aggressive intolerance, and blatant censorship, where objective truth is sacrificed at the altar of emotional manipulation, groupthink, and a pervasive sense of self-righteous indignation, all while masquerading as a supposed fight for "equality" and "justice". DEI is another regressive left wing ideology that prioritizes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as a means to reengineer societal norms, often resulting in Forced tokenism, manufactured outrage, and a culture of entitlement, where meritocracy is undermined by quotas and preferential treatment, and individual freedom is compromised by rigid ideological conformity, while disguising itself as a pursuit of "fairness" and "social progress".

“Racism via wokism” was DEI hiring and affirmative action admissions giving extra points to people for having the right skin color and taking away points for the wrong color
So Target instituted a DEI hiring policy, it hurt the biz, so they did away with it..then people got pissed that they did away with it, and boycotted the brand to the extent that THAT hurt the bottom line lmao. Maybe corporations should just stay out of politics
It’s understandable lots of NVIDIA shareholders. Unfortunately the Chinese Government is really angry and has expressed its displeasure to businesses in China. Just like how Trump expressed displeasure over DEI and most companies backed away the same thing happens in China
Target rolled back DEI iniatives in January ish, and pissed off their "woke" shoppers.
Cracker Barrel is the most anti-DEI restaurant ever, it should be sold out of food
I cant diversify my port because DEI is banned now
The half of white women who do care about DEI were Target shoppers
So in sum: TGT was A+ until DEI took over - Full F under the last CEO and they just hired new CEO organically who will continue on in the same manor, IE: wasting shareholder equity on stupid policies that wont sell products, hows that? :)
Do republicans not see what’s coming? When democrats get in charge it’s going be 15% of Company Y for A DEI program, for clean Air regulations etc
Nothing needs to change, we’ve been in a recession even though it’s not called it, and comp sales are barely down. Once everyone is done being scared, and the dust settles from DEI and other stuff, the comps YoY will look good and the new CEO will get all the glory. It’s just a cycle.
I also stopped shopping there because of their alignment with conservative ‘values.’ My stores were never messy and didn’t have any issues other than the removal of DEI for me.
And they stopped supporting DEI and folks like me told them to fuck right off and stopped shopping there
>By “updates we shared on belonging in January” they’re referring to the changes they made to their “Belonging at the Bullseye” program in January. Huh. So "Belonging at the bullseye" was actually just a straight-up 1984 "War is Peace" re-framing of their move to end DEI initiatives...

the political stuff is funny. i don't really follow it at all, but when i was searching TGT on twitter today it was a bunch of people mad at it for being woke or for abandoning DEI i dont imagine the average person actually cares about this, but cant help
If we all buy Target right now we can still make some money (help me unload my DEI bags)
They pissed off the lgbt community by not continuing the dog and pony show for pride and ended their DEI program.
After Trump’s inauguration they ended DEI initiatives and altered their priorities for black owned businesses. This caused a boycott. I don’t really know how much you quantify that versus the pressure from tariffs and economic uncertainty in general but it has had the perception of being successful. On a personal note, I don’t really care that much about the two issues but I’m also not going to pay a premium to shop at a place that took advantage of appearing more liberal and then backtracked. I’ll just shop at Walmart for cheaper with the understanding that I’m supporting a company with questionable values.
The dude doubled down on anti DEI and voila. Turns out acting like the pedophile in the Whitehouse isn't actually profitable.
Huh, I see going against DEI and being underhanded about it didn’t work out to well for them huh? Will start seeing more of these companies fail
Black people are boycotting as we preferred to shop there then they removed their DEI policy, so the boycotting is working and then the Tarrifs are hurting retail bad. They were already the expensive place to shop to begin with.
If you didn’t hear DEI was removed, should of watched something straight
There's gummy bears, no gummy bulls. Teddy bears, no teddy bulls. We live in a bear world, and there's no room for DEI bulls.
Not really, more betting on the left hating target for removing DEI, and betting on conservatives still hating target because 4 years ago they had a rainbow display once. Always bet on political outrage. So, long puts
DEI BS always dies with time
WMT is killing them, idk if they’ll recover from the DEI bs
TACO started to post something...one of his two drunks wandered in, hung over, and knocked the phone out of his hand as they went to drunkenly and sloppily go to embrace him...and he pushes them away in mock disgust... the female drunk ( non-DEI I might add) leans over and slurs to the recoiling TACO: "You're my bess frien'.....come on over here.....I WUV you!!!!" sniffle sniffle.....
The DEI strike is so dumb and such a small group. Most consumers don't give a shit about it, however, if you only used Reddit for your news you'd think it's the worlds biggest issue. I work with them and their entire e-commerce category management team is Indian. Does that not count as diversity?
They most likely lost money with tariffs plus Target alienated their target market by getting rid of their DEI policy. Black people protested and it is heavily affecting sales.
Is that DEI consumer strike at TGT for this ER? Cuz if so fucking puts lmfaooooo
Joe Kernen continuing to be a disgrace to CNBC. He’s screaming sanewash nonsense about how it’s totally normal for a President to manipulate stocks and use the treasury to buy companies, with or without congressional approval. When politely challenged, he’s doing a weird and creepy pantomime of lighting his “hair” on fire and yelling about DEI hires. CNBC cannot be taken seriously while he’s still their face.
Not a good idea the stock will be $185 by the time earnings come. Feel that money shifting elsewhere in the markets, the LULU trade is done especially with the recent PPI figures and CPI. Increased sales in china may entice some people to buy or current investors to stay the course. However, this is premium athletic ware, Vuori and Alo yoga could take market share. Cheaper alternatives, if LULU legal case against Costco fails then others will copy the designs for fractions of the price. Add in DEI ,apparently they suck in that department. Lastly, always a risk but based on the current macro back drop im going to assume the forward guidance is not going to be great. Look to sell calls , im planning on selling the $195 maybe buy some protection $200,something to expire september.
As a former employee...Jones Farm is like Little Bangalore. During the 2015 DEI hiring frenzy, managers seemed to think that indian chicks were like a cheatcode for filling the quotas so every dipshit with a masters degree from Bumblefuck University in the middle of nowhere was hired.
I will check some of that out when I have time later. I didn’t lay out the issues with it appropriately I’ll try to get you an actual intelligent response, más tardy. I will say before though that I am sure there were positive things in the bills they were so damn big it would be impossible for them not to get some of it right. Any of it is kind of useless fluff when you consider that we made an absolutely critical error in having manufacturing, especially advanced, go offshore and be developed by rival nations. I will look into the details of what you posted when I have time it was to my understanding a lot of the DEI requirements did have an effect actually moving projects because if your companies didn’t meet certain DEI checklists you couldn’t even bid on a project. I believe it, and can you imagine having put together crack team at running fiber cable or anything technical and getting turned down because you can’t get any minority females qualified for the work to even bid for it? The reason I believe that shit is I’ve seen and dealt with it before. There are jobs people can’t bid against you on if the your country is 51% minority share or (whatever government requirement) owned, sometimes ownership has to be 51% disabled veteran to bid for the project. I hate all of it and I am a disabled veteran. The government needs completely out of the game of picking winners and losers. There needs to be accountability and meritocracy across the board.
So glad this response took a whole 8 days. You’re praising TSMC’s investment in Arizona while calling the CHIPS Act “atrocious” that’s hilarious, because TSMC is literally taking billions from the CHIPS Act. $6.6 billion in grants, $5 billion in loans. Funded by the very bill you’re trashing. You can’t dunk on the law while cheering the results it paid for. And this “Trump made it happen” fantasy? TSMC announced their U.S. fab in 2020, before CHIPS even existed — yes, under pressure from the Trump admin. But the project stalled. Why? High costs, labor issues, equipment delays. It was Biden’s CHIPS Act that got it back on track by throwing real money at it. That’s why construction resumed and expanded. The idea that DEI killed projects is just lazy culture war bait. The “requirements” were basic workforce planning and community engagement guidelines not quotas, not red tape. If billion-dollar tech giants couldn’t handle that, they wouldn’t be building anything, but here we are. So no Trump didn’t “rescue” American chip manufacturing. He made a dent. Biden signed the law that made it real. And now you’re spinning that as a failure? Sorry, that’s not a take it’s just a refusal to deal with facts. Hate the CHIPS Act all you want, but without it, there is no TSMC fab, no Intel expansion, and no U.S. semiconductor comeback. Period. But yeah go off I guess. Just maybe read the bill next time before pretending you know what killed or saved it.
Black Swan event canceled for being DEI
Bro, a Barbie at the store is $20, WTF? TGT is not eating the tariffs as my King says. Also too much DEI in the Barbies.
As a black man I don’t want DEI, but I do want fairness. For example, how come there is no restaurant called African American Barrel?
I think that's actually a pretty good idea. And I'd take that a step further - eliminate any sort of statistics thing that report on stuff. This will prevent any of those LibRuL blue haired transgender DEI people from reporting negative things about 'murica. Then, last step would be to start proclaiming loud and proud how America added 1 Trillion jobs last month and unemployment is at 1 (some gender studies college professor somewhere), and that the economy is BOOMING, with 400btrade deals signed. Proclaim that covid is defeated, there's 0 cases of measles, and that RFK junior has eliminated obesity as people finally started following the HHS recommended health plan of 1 colonic irrigation weekly, followed by a daily meal of grapefruit juice and raw american steak & corn.
Hey look they fired a highly qualified woman to hire an incredibly unqualified white man whose only qualification is being dedicated to Trump! Meritocracy is back! DEI what?
Management can't get out of their own way. Went pro-Pride and pissed off one side, then back off and pissed off the other side, then promoted DEI and pissed off the first side again and then publicly rolled back DEI and pissed off the second side again. Cornell has lost any chance of gaining my trust. They're follow the wind too often.
I really like Target ($TGT) here. FCF near 10. Current P/E at 11. Forward P/E around 13. Div Yield of 4%. Beat down on DEI mishap many months ago and took hit on tariff fears in Q1 call but limited realization of tariffs. Competitors trading between 40-60 P/E. Anecdotally witnessed strong store traffic over several visits this summer. Clothing was hot this summer and back to school shopping should boost sales. Don’t love messing with earnings, but I think they’ll make up for weak guidance last Q. Similar to UNH in that it’s a mature company that has been beat down to hell on negative optics, but relatively unchanged fundamentals. Not in options. I like shares. Do your own research.

Bruh, the "DEI" minded customer is their entire base. The average customer likes the items you can get at Target that you can't find at Walmart. They killed what made them unique. Their prices certainly aren't competitive with Walmart.
It's because the DEI minded customer is a VERY small share of their customer base. The rest of their customer base aren't going to worsen their own personal finances to shop elsewhere unless Target prices are noticeably higher, and they certainly are not going to inconvenience themselves to burn gas and create more trips just to avoid a retailer who is still more DEI-minded than the competition.
The CEO is from "CHY-nah". DEI man, get with it.
🥭: Bigly investment from AAPL, I like Tim Cook, great guy he is doing everything right. Except uhhh the DEI, as I understand it they’re ending it soon isn’t that right? Cook: We have no intention of stopping our DEI initiatives 🥭: I actually mostly hate Tim Cook, he won’t end woke and uhhhhh it’s bad and the tariffs are back on iPhones
What happened to AMD? Did Saudis find out she met all the DEI requirements with flying colors?
DEI was not a factor. And TSMC had agreed to build a factory here under the chips act. So your exuse isn’t going to fly.
DEI requirements were unlikely to be a factor - thats not what DEI requirements do - in fact they do the opposite. They make sure EVERYONE is eligible and able to take a job. Secondly TSMC committing to build a plant in the US happened under Biden, because of the Chips act.
#breaking: ICE and Anti DEI Police seen around Lisa Su's residence as a result of shite AMD ER
It’s hilarious why you think about it. The Biden admin authorized billions to get Intels worthless ass company to build in America. None of it happened because all that money had impossible DEI requirements as well. In less than a month Trump had TSMC commit the largest single foreign investment in the country’s history. They are built are building an enormous advance manufactures facility here, and THEY are paying for it. Pretty awesome deal, mi compadre.
You can’t trust the woke numbers coming out of a DEI entity like the Institute for Supply Management Data.
Thats the kind of stupid thing democrats say that makes people not want to vote for them. No one hates intelligent women. Lots of people hate that dumb women get promoted for DEI though.
Answer: Polar bear. Other bears are DEI bears.
Where are you getting your information? There were votes no auto select. Kamala was a DEI pick to begin with. The corrupt Democrats installed her and she was the first to drop out of the 2020 primary and blamed her loss on sexism.
I hope you morons run her again. She is an incompetent loser. Can you name one thing she did as vice president? She was a DEI pick!
Woke liberal gang is cancer ! Democrat and their DEI bullshit is cancer ! The world is healing under Trump! Sydney Sweeney has great jeans you ugly liberal bitches ! P.S. I’m not an US citizen so I didn’t vote for either Trump or Kamala
Yes, it's a sample of all the companies that got rid of their DEI programs in 2025. Almost every major company did. Those who didn't, like Ben & Jerry's, the board fired their CEO. Like I said, the list of woke companies that still have DEI is tiny. DEI is basically dead for the time being.
