I've been trying to talk about GDX (well technically EPGIX) since February, but the moderators often delete my posts. GDX up 104% YTD. GDXJ up 105% YTD. SIL up 100% YTD. COPX up 39% YTD. This has to be institutional investors recognizing a significant undervaluation and current prices. We should be riding this to the top.

Note, I wrote the first comment before the market closed. Now that it's closed I'm down a total of 7%. I am too risk averse to buy individual stocks, so I choose mutual funds and ETFs that align with the strategy I want. After the election I started thinking about adjusting my holdings because I expected bad things to happen to domestic markets. I didn't start making moves until last month though. I'm invested in BAR for physical gold exposure. VYM is Vanguard's domestic dividend payers fund. EPGIX is a general gold and gold miners fund and EPIVX for international value stocks BAR and EPGIX are still up from when I bought in. EPIVX is overall down 5% but was actually flat yesterday. VYM is what's killing me, I wasn't certain enough to completely abandon domestics and that fund is taking a beating, at least I still collected a dividend from it yesterday 😂

His scheme is to hype his fund and gold as a hedge against the crash that is ever present and ever coming further, as the US will default (his argument, not mine). This spurs people that don't understand how funds like he runs works to go buy his fund, with its fat 1.4% expense ratio. I just looked it up, his annualized return since 2013 has been 1.87% for his EPGIX fund. If that doesn't sound like a grift to you, I don't know what to tell you. It's not outright fraud, it's a grift.
