SCHB already contains almost all of FXAIX, my goal here was diversifying. Good call, FXAIX was definitely involved in my decision. I thought about throwing 10k in FGBRX and may still do it. Thanks boss

Started early in college around 2018 I thin and bought FGBRX or something like that, growth fund. Starting learning more and buying stuff to diversify. That only dragged my returns down and polarized me against it. Portfolio went through Covid and even with downswing overall growth fund performed much better. Unfortunately had to use the money forgetting about it for a while. Checked in on my rollover IRA after changing jobs and found I’m woefully behind for 28 and ramping back up.

FBGRX 10% - 11.4% NVDA FITLX 17% - 9.3% NVDA FSELX 21% - 23.6% NVDA It’s a tad bit higher than the 7% you mentioned, but to me, that still seems a bit high for one single company. Seeing how it reacted to the DeepSeek news, that could drive big swings in the IRA. I didn’t mention it in the original post but there’s also a lot of overlap with other stocks between FGBRX and FITLX. There also pushing me towards making a move

FGBRX is not an S&P500 ETF. It’s mainly bond. Some of the popular S&P500 index funds are VOO & SPY. The ETF invest in top 500 companies in the US. Investopedia is your best friend. Please educate yourself and don’t just trust some random guy on the internet.

So less in the FGBRX and more in the SPY? Oh this money is in there til college or retirement, it's long term.

dude im really ignorant about this shit. It seems like FGBRX is a more volatile managed fund and S+P is more stable low risk growth? Would you split your holdings long term into both? or move all to one?

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I’m going to play it safe! Put it in SPY and FGBRX.

Everyone thinks it’ll have a short squeeze because there’s like 350k shares shorted. But yeah I think I’ll put it in SPY and FGBRX

Can I ask a question? I have lots of FBGRX and FCNTX both (12% and 5% of portfolio) of which I’ve had for several years but they’re dropping a lot lately. Any thoughts on moving to another growth mutual fund or ETF? I’m concerned about FCNTX as they keep adding Facebook and the expense ratio is high. Is it worth adding more to FGBRX or moving to some VTI? My portfolio has a lot of tech. 37 years old
