I was green by a hair today because SLV calls…otherwise it was blood red exp GRPN, NFLX and my penny stock SKIN
If y’all looking for the low float high short bangers (with options cause it seems like that’s what the algos targeting). My fav are RILY, FLWS, GRPN, SNBR all of these are under 25m float.
I mean obviously it’s real in the sense that it tangibility exits and effects us, but it’s also not real as in it’s completely a man made concept and is arbitrary. If the world went to nuclear holocaust today , then tomorrow GRPN wouldn’t be worth anything.
It appears you are correct. Or at least it’s not real until it starts to become very real and GRPN is worth $800M now.
Some Major investments news came out Today [https://www.marketwatch.com/story/warren-buffett-places-new-bets-on-unitedhealth-and-a-major-homebuilder-sending-their-stocks-soaring-7b49d7f5?mod=home\_lead](https://www.marketwatch.com/story/warren-buffett-places-new-bets-on-unitedhealth-and-a-major-homebuilder-sending-their-stocks-soaring-7b49d7f5?mod=home_lead) [https://www.marketwatch.com/story/soros-appaloosa-boost-their-holdings-in-this-mag-7-stock-amid-ai-spending-boom-514807d8](https://www.marketwatch.com/story/soros-appaloosa-boost-their-holdings-in-this-mag-7-stock-amid-ai-spending-boom-514807d8) When such major investors like Berkshire Hathaway(Warren Buffet) and Soros makes a large investments i.e. adding something like $2Billion into 4 or 5stocks, it can create significant market dynamics that impact short sellers in multiple ways: # Direct Impact on Short Sellers of the Target Stock like UnitedHealth, Nvidia, Home Builder Sector.. **Immediate Price Pressure**: A billion dollar investment typically should drive the specific stock price up substantially, especially if it's concentrated in a short timeframe. UNH is already \~10% in after hours [https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/unh](https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/unh) But they are only shorted \~2% Ideally Short sellers might face mounting losses as their positions move against them. As forced to cover their positions to limit losses or meet margin calls. This buying pressure further drives up the price. The more short interest in those stock, the more severe this can become, worse creating a feedback i.e. perfect short squeeze. # I more interested in the possibility RIPPLE EFFECTS and Cross-Stock Contagion, **Portfolio Liquidation**: Short sellers facing significant losses on one position often need to raise capital quickly. This can force them to: * Close profitable long positions in other stocks * Cover short positions in other stocks, even profitable ones * Liquidate across their entire portfolio If the heavily shorted stock is in a particular sector like Builders or Housing in this case, short sellers in similar companies may preemptively cover positions, fearing a broader sector rotation or similar institutional buying. Overall Liquidity drying for this short sellers. # ~50%+ Short Position Scenario in stocks [PLCE](https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/plce) or [GRPN](https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/grpn) or even ~33% shorted [KSS](https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/kss) When short sellers have positions pretty high(30%, 50%) of their portfolio in other stocks, Can the situation become particularly risky for them and a good condition for the Squeeze
GRPN popped 20% today after ER. Going to $50

GRPN or KIRK sounds pretty good right about now… Who remembers SOUN?
Bought calls in GRPN tiny float, 33% short interest
Sure. It's actually quite simple. We are in a raging bull market (in case that wasn't clear). And in bull markets, greed is on the table. Offensive (i.e. "risk-on") sectors and assets get bought, because peoples' tolerance for risk grows. OPEN is an unprofitable tech company (risk-on check #1), with a high short interest (check #2) and was, until two weeks ago, in a 99% drawdown (check #3). All of these things make it a ripe candidate for a rip-roaring rally. But let's be clear: this has *nothing* to do with the company's fundamentals. Anybody claiming that doesn't have a clue. It's classic market mechanics/bull market/short squeeze behavior. The reason we know this is we can look at a list of other high-short interest stocks and see pretty much the same price action. A few weeks ago WOLF filed for bankruptcy and promptly ripped 10x. AIRS is up 4x since April. BYND has doubled since May. GRPN, a literal dying business, is at a 4-year high. So there is nothing special about OPEN. These things happen in bull markets, and it has nothing to do with the underlying fundamentals of the business.

I just saw GRPN in after hours decliners I had 8 dollar calls for this last year and held them for months finally sold when it went to 13 If I would have just kept rolling instead of cashing out I would be up thousands of percent more than I made Moral of the story: Never cash out just keep rolling and hedge with short puts if you want downside protection
What is driving the GRPN price 🤔
##my quant is telling me to buy GRPN calls, which seems like the most retarded move ever after how it's already moved. Is he genius or ghey? stay tuned.
TIKTOK blowing up another stock… GRPN I wouldn’t be surprised if it hits 1B market cap soon
Oh also, can I get your thoughts on GRPN? I'm hoping for a crash at earnings, but I'm worried it might squeeze instead.
Long 100 GRPN just for like tomorrow in case the HTZ squeeze makes shit weird
Fuck it 100 long GRPN at $19 just in case
My $GRPN puts beg to differ unfortunately. Been waiting for this shit to drop for weeks. Makes no sense.
GRPN is a good one, with over 30% short. Also ROOT has been killing it.
I realized that when i saw GRPN up 42% lmfao nothing makes sense
GRPN is green. Wtf
Somebody bought GRPN calls. Not me but someone
Did anyone buy GRPN puts when it hit $13 or am I... ya know
Well not a lot, snagged 10x GRPN $11 calls last night around 9.50. Sold at open when it hit $13. $1500 profit is not red.
Damnnnnnnnnnn, that’s a be a big winner. Important thing is that you’re selling them. So regards should look to short this move tomorrow. GRPN down 97% all time so there’s many bags to unload
GRPN missed earnings badly and is up 25% lmao
Will my GRPN calls print? Or crater in the AM? :(

[GRPN write up](https://rookieflaneur.substack.com/p/new-idea-groupon-turnaround-grpn)
https://preview.redd.it/moomyuc4w2oe1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d96d549d19b1df4e77435e06a6aec899398d620d For anyone that’s interested, I’m scaling into calls for tomorrow. I’m playing probably $400 worth of $12 calls on GRPN. I’ve done a good bit of research and it’s possible they are turning things around. I’ll link a comprehensive write up below if you want to know why. It’s risky and probably dumb, so not a big play for me. I’m also scaling into calls for tomorrow. I think CPI comes in cooler than expected and we get the relief rally everyone has been hoping for. I DONT expect the cooler prints to last, as tariffs will continue to exacerbate inflation. But this specific print should be cooler because tariffs haven’t had enough time to do their damage yet, oil has been trending down, used car prices have abated, and prescription drugs have declined as well. This is a perfect spot for some temporary good news to relieve selling pressure, but again, I think it’ll be temporary
Someone a lot smarter than me should be looking at GRPN. It just seems to always rebound when it gets this low, and with earnings tomorrow it's a true gamble.
how is $GRPN even still in business? Puts?
I'll agree that dollar cost averaging into broad based index funds over decades is a proven successful investment strategy. Part of why it works is that you're not exposed to single stock risk. It's not only meme stocks that go down and never come back. Here are just a few examples of stocks everyone used to think would never be a long term bad investment, but they were: LEH, WAMU, AIG, C, NOK, BB, GE, SHLDQ, JCPNQ, BLIAQ, LU, JAVA, PALM, GRPN, YHOO, CHK, PCG... the list goes on and on. If you were unlucky enough to average down on any of those stocks you would have lost most or all of your money. There's a reason professional traders do not average down and only add to positions when they go up in price and setup again. Can you get away with averaging down? Of course. But it's a fools game and you will eventually lose. Why risk it?
Check out GRPN and CO.PA
GRPN float is so low that buy orders for 1000 share blocks are moving the price by .$0.05. Nifty.
Every stock that had earnings is blasting off - and I know GRPN will eat shit and I’ll really regret going all in
How are you missing Groupon? GRPN with 44.69% short float
GRPN has around 20 million visits per month. Yes, it was terrible for a long time, which is why it kept falling, and it still doesn’t have a perfect listing and a lot of other things. I’m just saying that what’s happening there is turning the trend around. It’s not that obvious yet, but that’s also why the stock price is where it is. Once it becomes clear and evident, the price will be somewhere else, too. Groupon doesn’t need to regain all of its former glory; they just need to offer relevant services to their target audience. Their vision isn’t to stay a discount platform—they’re working on repositioning as a source of inspiration for local experiences. In my opinion, this shift will be much clearer in about two years. I see this as a 1-2 year investment with the potential for very interesting returns. Personally, I see the bottom around $7-10 per share, but I can imagine it climbing back to around $30 per share within that timeframe.
It's always surprising to see that it's still a thing - it may be a thing five years from now but still not be a good investment. "Maybe it's not a 0?" just isn't a thesis imo. For me, it becomes there's more good, well-run companies that I'd like to invest in than I can invest in. In terms of something like this GRPN situation it becomes do I: 1) add more to good, well-run company already owned or something on the waiting list or 2) invest a business whose sustainability is questionable and that hasn't been well-run and hope I get lucky and maybe someone does something goofy like buys it. If nobody buys it then it becomes do I have a thesis why this business will improve after -98% since IPO? If someone does have a thesis on GRPN that's fine, but buying it in the hopes that it will not be a 0? Maybe it's not a 0 in five years from now but it's $5 instead of $10? Who knows. Still amazing that they turned down the $6B offer from Google in 2010.
Anyone think groupon (GRPN) will live?
GRPN declining revenue, negative margin and free cash flow?! 😍 I'm all in!
$GRPN July 19 $17 puts ❌
This is a great set up for a multi bagger. Like UPST or GRPN last year
Couple adds.. catalyst that brings sustained volume and interest. Lower the float higher the short interest quicker the squeeze. Higher floats that have had high short interest over a longer period of time take months to squeeze unlike the lower ones which are usually done in a couple days. Ex of higher float squeezes from the past year. BYND CVNA MARA GRPN UPST AI (NVAX currently)
when was the last time you used a GRPN?
I made money on calls from GRPN 😶🌫️
My GRPN calls printing tomorrow I gambled on it with no DD and just looking at the chart
SOUND calls and GRPN puts. At least one of em hit
GRPN
I got my first win for an earnings play. I just did it because GRPN had a lot of negative sentiment and betting that they would have something to beat low expectations. Is this how gambling addictions start?
ALCC printing GRPN calls for earnings printing Today is a good day.
Loaded up on some GME puts for fun. Thought about going short on GRPN but the premiums seemed too high.
380% IV on my GRPN call, now for another lame ass +-2% change AH
these GRPN calls gonna hit I feel it
GRPN is a business killer and one day will face its own death
Other than MSTR those were all last year. Investing time and energy into these generally does not pay well anymore. I called UPST and GRPN on this page right at the bottoms too. There are short accelerated moves these days not many squeezes
CVNA AI UPST BYND GRPN MARA MSTR just a few off the top of my head that don’t agree with that. But do whatever you’re good at making money with.
GRPN and AMC calls!!
Does anyone think GRPN Will pump mind week? The float is a little low but I think it will be shorted for a few more days before a quick pump.
My probably the best investment was in GRPN on its lowest point. All international comments focused only on past performance and omitted looking into takeover of new activist investor, that just before transformed similar (albeit smaller) site to profitability. I am still believing it haven't reached its full potential. And I am currently shorting NNOX and SOUN. Both got super boosted by recent nvidia fillings and AI craze. SOUN is very hyped and overblown AI craze, that I even had to buy some calls for a hedge, but I stayed in.
Oh shit, Groupon puts were 70x baggers if you timed it right. rofl 1k to 70k in a day from GRPN
Oh shit, Groupon puts were 70x baggers if you timed it right. rofl 1k to 70k in a day from GRPN
Website traffic friend, what does GRPN say? So the people here who inverse you know they won already.

Guess I should have pulled those GRPN puts I was eyeing last week before earnings week. I mean who even uses groupon anymore
