That's why I like ETFs like ICVT and SCHD, they bring a bit more diverse exposure.

I tend to like CMNIX walks like a bond talks like a bond but isn’t a bond. LSIIX, ICVT, & PONPX are what I use.

My 8 year old has about $145K in his 529 & 23K in his brokerage that I set up for him. We plan on converting 35K of his 529 into a Roth and the dream scenario is “the scholarship exception” so I can move a large amount of of his 529 out without the 10% penalty & roll that into his brokerage. I let him pick a couple stocks he picked Amazon and Google and I put the rest in VT, RLY, & ICVT.

What is your goal for this money, and what is your goal for the bonds? VGLT is my favorite long term, SGOV is my favorite short term, VCIT is my favorite general corporate, ICVT is my favorite tilted corporate, and JBBB is my favorite corporate adjacent. I believe they're all good, but they have wildly different purposes depending on what level of return you're looking for within what timeframe.

24M/ Engineer I invested in these funds a really long time ago and was reviewing my sheet. Not sure whether I should keep these over the next 1-3 years. Could anyone let me know what they think for each? Also how do i even fathom where to start to make the decision to keep/give it up? 10K invested in each : * ARKF * ARKG * ARKQ * ARKW * ICVT * PTH * XBI thanks

I recently moved to ICVT, IUSB and TLH for my 10% as duration isn't as much of a risk since rates have risen so much. These aren't recommendations, just what I'm using on a 90/10 portfolio. When you say buy stock, the market is the only thing that people won't buy when it's 20% discounted. If your time horizon is 20 years plus, yes you should be investing when affordable.

ICVT has done me wonders over the past year

From ETF.com ICVT offers modest differences from its better-established State Street rival, CWB. The newer fund offers a lower fee and tracks a marginally different Barclays index, it can hold smaller issues ($250M vs. $500M minimum) and screens out certain kinds of convertibles (mandatory, preferred, and zero coupons). Investors with a nuanced view of the space might appreciate having a choice in exposure. By design, convertible bonds hold equity-like upside while tending to fare well when rates rise. However, they carry more credit risk and are much more volatile than a diversified, total-market bond portfolio.

Is heavily investing in ICVT a safe way to ride out current uncertainties? In March it didn't lose much and seems to rip pretty well in bullish times.
