Yeah people talking about 4 years are being naive. It's like when covid first hit and people thought it could go on for "weeks, or even a couple months". The USA just re-elected Trump 8 years after the first time. Bush 2 could have been seen as the outlier. Trump 1 and Trump 2 are what proves that it's not an outlier. The Republican Party never really recovered from the Reagan and Nixon administrations, and they've been feeding hostile rhetoric to their base for decades. The middle class of America has been stripped away by corporate and billionaire greed, and those upset Americans have been fed a lie that the money has gone overseas. It just isn't the reality of the situation. Not to mention, you can expect major parties within modern democracies to be elected every 1–2 cycles as voters swing back and forth based on largely non-controllable events (ie. global inflation). So even doing nothing, that hostile platform would have been elected in 2028. The US population has kept swinging back to this hostile rhetoric on a regular basis, and even in the best case scenario, we can expect the population to keep swinging back in this direction. People keep talking about Trump as an outlier, but I think this is very much the new normal.
Well don’t rely on an UK money. UK govt just announced pensions passed on to kids to be taxed at 40% IHT + 45% Income Tax. So the money that’s parked is all going back to the welfare state I’m afraid
It depends on the complexity and geography of the portfolio, but here in the UK our IHT threshold is very low so there is value in advice from WMs/PBs on how to navigate using a variety of instruments.
I’m not so much interested in fair as I am in best. Regardless, just because something is not fair does not mean we give up. That would be pathetic. And o disagree. 100 years ago we didn’t have any IHT. We’re getting there.
Big part of it is tax planning. ISAs, income tax, CGT, IHT. For example, getting additional rate payers into gilts. You'd need cash equivalents earning 8%+ to get the same net of tax return
Let’s not forget they get a 350k threshold in IHT- which means the kids lose 40% of their inheritance over that amount!

Quite the opposite: inflation has put more people into the realms of IHT. Although I do admit it’s unpopular. I’m trying to make people realise that it shouldn’t be. Unless you’re a multi-millionaire who wants to hide their kids’ incompetence.

I'm guessing a natural next step of this will be... Richer people trying to beat inflation, and the wealth gap growing wider. Government brings in further taxation (inheritance, etc) in an attempt to flatten generational wealth. We're at 50% IHT in the UK.

There are hundreds of such services, and the best ones are dedicated to educating their traders, and creating a genuine community. I am not a subscriber, but there are many that promote their organization for free via daily or weekly market analysis videos as a marketing method. They cause daily havoc in the markets by focusing on small-cap stocks with thin floats. Sometimes it's WAY too obvious, like they'll pick a small float that has been turned into a micro-float because of an insider-selling restricted period (e.g. IHT) & because the ADV is so small you can see they obviously loaded up in the days prior to "announcing" to everyone what a great buy it would be. Anyone who understands trading can see what they're doing.

Hey if someone could lmk how this looks that’d be awesome, I’m 23, had my Roth since I was 18 and started investing about a month ago: Roth IRA (5 years accum with successful financial advisor, also a good friend) ETF- 1 share if VOO Stocks: AMC- 29% SPCE- 15% CCL- 16% TGLS- 15% MAXN- 7.3 IHT- 2% DPW- 7% MOSY- 1% Not very experienced but have an idea what to do at least. All great points. I have been reading about IHT the past few days. It is at nearly 27% and has extremely high borrowing costs.
I don't think he knows that we can already cure cancer. The government chooses not to because it's a multi-billion dollar a year business. Also, $IHT is a way better squeeze play. It's borrow fee was 105% when I called it yesterday to now being over 198%. But you do you.
I'm still not convinced. There's a borrow fee of 8.10% (which is low af) if you're interested in a squeeze, look no further than $IHT which has a borrow fee of 105% and a Squeeze Score of 99.9

Made them earlier in the day with the thought of closing the positions before close. But I like what I'm holding for next week so I'll hang on to it. MVIS, MARA, RBLX, BRKS, VIAC and IHT will explode Monday morning and then give back 20% throughout the afternoon.
