Well you're off to a great start! More than most 'investors' in this forum. The Intelligent Investor is highly regarded, though I haven't read it. The other one(s) I don't know about. If you're going to play with options, then get over to [OptionStrat ](https://optionstrat.com/LdEqBgRa0KM1)and start modelling trades. The link takes you to a setup I made of your IMMP 16May2.5P, it should open for you okay. That's called a Profit and Loss graph or chart. If you haven't seen one already, *Options for Beginners* will introduce them to you. It basically shows how your position will profit as the price of IMMP goes down (to the left). I told it you paid 0.30 for that 2.5 Put, so you can see there the B/E of 2.20 I described earlier. That's simply the point at which the option is worth 0.30 (2.50 strike - 2.20), so you could sell it and get your money back. But at IMMP prices lower than that, notice how much you start profiting. It shows across the top of the graph a Max Profit of $220, but don't get too excited about that; it simply means that if IMMP stock were to go all the way to zero (which it most likely won't in 2 weeks), that's what you'd make. Let me leave you with another thought, because I won't be able to chat again until tomorrow afternoon. Look at the 1-year charts of [these 2 stocks.](https://imgur.com/a/yh50Zyt) Which one would you rather own? Investing can be as simple as that. Buy stocks that are going up, because they'll probably keep going up (at least for a while). But people will say that the top stock has gone up "too much," so it's due for a fall. Or it's at All Time Highs (ATH), so you can't buy it now. Then they'll turn around and say that the bottom stock has dropped so far that it's "bound" to go back up. Or even it "has to" go back up. No. It doesn't. And sometimes they don't. So if you will, just keep that simple concept in mind, that we can look at charts and see what's doing well, then buy those. Till tomorrow.
Yes, if IMMP closes at 2.50 on May 16th, the option won't be worth anything. Which means you'll have lost the $30. BUT: your "Break Even Price," the B/E, is the strike price minus what you paid for the option, so: 2.50 - 0.30 = 2.20 SO: if IMMP closes at 2.20, your 2.50 Put will be worth 0.30, which is exactly what you paid for it. Do you see how that works? So you'd sell it for 0.30 on the last day and get your money back. You "broke even." AND: if IMMP closes anywhere LESS THAN 2.20, you start making money. For instance, say it closes at $2: do you know what your 2.5P would be worth? 50 cents, right? Because that's how much it's "In The Money," or ITM. So you'd sell it for 0.50. And since you *bought* it for only 0.30, you'd make 0.20, or $20. And your *percent* profit, or "Return on Investment," ROI, is the profit divided by what you had invested in it: 0.20 / 0.30 = 66% And that's a GREAT return. ESPECIALLY since it was over such a short period of time. So, is that what you expect to happen, that IMMP will fall back down to where it was at about 1.75 before this big pop? If it does go back to 1.75 by expiration, can you figure out what your dollar profit would be? And then what percentage profit that would be? I think it's great that you're getting into options (investing in general) at such a young age! I'm 61 and have a grandson 11, so talking to you is almost like helping him. Can I get you to read a book? [Options for the Beginner and Beyond](https://www.r-5.org/files/books/trading/schoolbooks/W_Edward_Olmstead-Options_for_the_Beginner_and_Beyond-EN.pdf) by Professor Olmstead. It might be a little advanced for you, but it really is for beginners in options, and I have the feeling you'll understand a lot of it. Is someone helping you, or how did you get the idea to sell a Put on this stock after its pop? Be good, and keep learning!
You're paying $30.00 for the right to sell 100 shares of IMMP for $2.50 each by May 16. If IMMP shares aren't $2.50 or lower on May 16, this option will expire worthles this is what robinhood showed me
Most people start with Calls because they're easier to understand, but that's cool. I guessed 0.30 correctly ($30 in "option dollars"); does it expire 16May? A shorthand way people use to specify options is this: You bought the 16May 2.5P for 0.30. Then everyone knows exactly what you have. Do you know why you bought it? ("What's your thesis?" is what people will ask.) And do you know what you need the price of IMMP to get down to for you to break even (start making money)? And do you have a plan for exiting the position? I'm just asking to point out that you should be able to state all those things before entering a trade (putting your hard-earned dollars on the line). Your first ever OPTION, or first ever PUT option, or first Put on IMMP? What's the expiration? I'm guessing 16May? What did you pay for it? I'm guessing about 0.30? Do you know what that makes your Breakeven? What's your thesis? I see the 45% pop today. What was that on? I don't see any news.

IMMP might finally pop today, they have a data readout today andI’ve been watching them all week in preparation for it. In premarket today they finally started trending up, I’ll be keep my eye on this one.

Hey OP, so I currently have IMMP and know if other tickers that are rising at the moment. What are some that you are interested in that are still under the radar and have possible potential to perform well? Even if right or wrong, it’s ok. I just curios if which ones you like. Also, as we have seen lately there have been a lot squeezing and rising fast. I don’t want to just jump into those. Is it best to just wait and get in when they bottom out again? With everything going on, they should just start going back up over time right? I am fairly new to the market and learning. But this area of things is definitely new to me. Any advice is much appreciated! I would like to go research some of these other tickers I haven’t seen yet.
Hey I did DD on this in a comment section not too long ago. IMMP is my first foray into playing Biopharm catalysts and I bought a couple calls to test the waters so I'm hoping for some good results. Would absolutely cream if it hit $15 but would still be happy with it hitting $8.
IMMP for the short term play. They are presenting data on two Phase IIb drugs, one dealing with Metastatic Breast Cancer in which the first reports of the study released December 9th saw the price jump from $2.16 to $5.69; The other Phase IIb deals with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. They were granted Fast Track designation by the US FDA in April and will be presenting that data. They are also presenting some initial data on part C of a Phase II drug that deals with non-small cell lung Cancer and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. It's my first foray into investing in biostock phase catalysts so I could also be totally wrong lol
