Which one of the following ETFs are identical and redundant?

Russell or S&P? Which indices are better?

1% expense ratio is too much. It’s what I pay for a wealth management firm. At the exception that the wealth management firm is making me benefit additional % on top of the S&P500 performance. In this case, FFOX is brand new, we don’t know the performance, and there is no reason to get a 1% fee on it. Better stick with Russell Midcap Growth, very similar, IWP ticker, expense ratio 0.23%.

I’d definitely consider some international exposure through VXUS. There’s a good amount of overlap between qqq and voo, but qqq is more tech heavy. QQQ also has a better return rate, but also carries greater risk and a much higher expense ratio. I got into a mid-cap etf (IWP) two years ago which has really taken off. An ETF like VTI gives you whole-market exposure, but it’s primarily large-cap weighted. I prefer to get whole-market exposure through targeted ETFs, this way I have more control of how my portfolio is weighted.

If you really thought that, you could grab some BTAL which could go up as markets drift down. That would help protect capital. But I wouldn’t own too much of it. Accumulating, I’d probably go 45% large cap growth or S&P500, 45% small cap value. The rest GLDM or BTAL. Actually I might skip or reduce the 500 bubble and go with something mid cap growthy like IMCG or IWP.

IWM not doing too hot in AH, hoping we can pop above 200 tomorrow. Praying IWP does better than today 🙏

Correct but trying to figure out if I’ll get more growth out of Amazon, apple, Google and Microsoft or growth from SPY, QQQ, IJR and IWP. In Jan the portfolio was almost 400k it’s now down to 300

r/wallstreetbetsSee Comment

We have about 300k of SPY, IJR, QQQ and IWP shares and a good chunk of money sitting in that money market account. Issue is it’s all a DCA up. Talking to our broker about potentially moving to a managed account so the algos can just trade for me.

Realized or unrealized and from when? Technically I am up overall in my 15 years of investing, but have lost 100k this year with the Robinhood piece actualized. I have never sold a gain yet(stock wise)outside of doge. Got a lot in SPY, QQQ and IWP

That is 30k sir. Very different when you think about his 80k…. He can put 37.5% into an iBond in your situation which would make much more sense for him. TLDR: also wife and one kid, but still haven’t pulled the trigger on Ibonds over ETFs like SPY, QQQ, IWP and IJR

This is great advice. Small and mid cap growth stocks have gotten decimated due to fed. There are two main sectors, ones that peaked in the 1Q like feb, and ones that peaked in November. The 1Q stocks can be 90% off their highs. I’ve been shorting the IWP this year with success. It’s possible most of these stocks might never reach 2021 levels again.

OK yea the top holdings of IWP are mostly so called "retail favorites" so one would have to sift through and find ones which aren't.

IWP is up 50% since pre-covid, it's kind of crazy to get in at this point though...

Took a starter position in EBAY, I'm thinking it's going to be relatively Jackson Hole / tapering proof. Looking to add tomorrow if it still looks good. IWP the mid cap index looks hot still + those ETSY earnings were quality so we'll see

I am 20, living in Germany and work in a warehouse, I have around 1000 EUR and looking to put them in ETFs but I am too worried to invest them all at once. I am looking for around a year long investment. I am looking for advice on which ETFs to purchase and if its a good idea to throw all of them in the stock market. Of course I am not looking for crazy returns, but rather to make use of the money and to avoid inflation. I already did quite some research and came up with the following ETFs, how many and which should I choose, please let me know what you think. Schwab US Large-Cap Growth (SCHG) Vanguard Information Technology (VGT) iShares Russel Mid-Cap Growth (IWP) Vanguard Growth Index (VUG) Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) Vanguard Small Cap Growth Index Fund (VBK) SPDR Portfolio S&P 500 High Divident (SPYD) Vanguard Real Estate Index Fund (VNQ) SPDR Bloomberg Barclays High Yield Bond (JNK) SPDR S&P Retail ETF XRT Total Stock Market ETF Vanguard VTI S&P Oil and Gas Exploration & Production SPDR XOP iShares Transportation Average ETF IYT

Fidelity is a good brokerage for me. Open a Roth IRA, all the profits accumulated in that account will be tax free. Traditional IRAs and brokerage accounts are taxed when money is withdrawn. Stick with broad based indices, growth oriented. VUG, IWP are solid options with good track records and low expenses. Good luck, glad you want to be an investor.

So it’s a better gauge on where the world economy is and gets you really diversified out of the major indexes, but like you said has the potential early next megacap. Full transparency my uncle is a VP at Merrill in NJ and recommended it and that’s more then enough for me haha. IWP recently did a 2:1 or 3:1 split because of how much it was growing. BOTZ is my baby and got in at under 20

BOTZ has been a long haul for me and the QQQ has made me the most money, but IWP and IJR are the two I’m most excited about.

r/wallstreetbetsSee Comment

I do the standard SPY, QQQ, IWP(recommend it) and IJR(been flying this year). I also have BOTZ and DVYE for the long term future. Prob going to pick up a bunch of the new payment ETF
