Hey, I want to tell you that the founder of NIO is stupid. Because he married a stupid woman so I think he is bad at making decisions. stay away from this company. Why do I say that because on a anniversary of NIO in 2018 they invited their biggest investors one of them is JD's CEO Liu,but that time Liu was arrested by US police for a rape charge,so Liu's wife attended the anniversary instead. And the wife of NIO CEO asked Liu's wife why liu is not here, that's the stupidest thing I ever saw in my life.

Yet nobody says it when the stocks are up. As for Munger - he was talking about Baba specifically not China, mistaking the company for a tech one rather than predominantly retail. More importantly Baba was 15% of his Daily Journal portfolio for the last few years and only trimmed after he passed. He also engineered the BYD purchase which Berkshire still holds just shy of 10% of. I’m not saying they’re no risks - I’m saying the reward is big enough to justify for me, and have positioned myself accordingly (I own JD @ $25, Baba @$72, Baidu @ $100, Tencent @ 240 HKD and BYD @ 180 HKD).

It's weird people keep saying geopolitical this geopolitical that, but companies that have done well are also doing well as stock, like Netease. Baba is most likely losing market share, and like JD has been mostly flat in revenue. And it's also about return to shareholders. Does company X have 10% FCF yield? Nice. What is happening with that money? No dividend, no buybacks, no strong growth? Than it's a pass. Baba has started doing some timid buybacks, no dividend, overall kinda low return of cash considering how much cash they're supposed to produce since years now on the reports. Where does the cash go? Maybe fake, maybe as contributions to 'the people' JD doing a lot better here, a decent dividend, some buybacks started. Still kinda low overall, but imo JD has the moat of very low net margins. Tencent - too much focused on media things, which is chinese government's biggest fear, they won't let this one grow too big.

I have slowly accumulated a few Chinese stocks yet also recently increased my positions in ASHR and FXI and CQQQ Based on just the Chinese stocks I own those 3 ETFs equal 39.3 percent and the Chinese individual stocks equal 60.7 percent . The weighting from highest to lowest. BABA, ASHR, FXI, DIDIY, JD, TCEHY, CQQQ, CICOY, NIO.. All of those represent approximately 9-10 % of my stock holdings based on dollar value. Month to date the Chinese portion is up 7 percent Year to date the chinese portion is plus 2.7 percent Based on my total costs ( commissions included ) The Chinese portion of my portfolio is down 23.14 %

Don’t invest in BaBa! JD and Tencent is running well but baba simply stretched itself way too much(it’s when jack ma try to enter finance and criticized and tried to replace Chinese banking system that got him in trouble) I also see lots of upside with PDD but there price already gone up.

I am up 30 percent on JD, 20 percent on Tencent. Honestly risk is worth it . Funnily enough it's BABA which hasn't risen much . Fact of the matter is this sub is very reactionary. Essentially people keep posting about the same tired stock good ones in fact but they are at a healthy valuation. Most people are just unable to buy stocks which no one is recommending . I for one am comfy leaving these shares as is for next 2-3 years

JD Power is a “pay for award” service, and Tesla wasn’t fully included “brand not meet study criteria”. Tesla has never and will never pay for a JD power award and therefore will never rank highly. If you trust them, Kia is #3 and Honda is half way down the list. If you actually read the consumer reports article, they specifically call out the Y, 3, and post ‘17 X and S as having far fewer issues.

They already bought up around $5B since January, so that’s already better than their $2.5-$3B buybacks last quarters. And with their internal shift to enable their staff in cash compensation, yeah, things look promising for a nice reduction. But even then, would it be enough? If you compare BABA with a Tencent or JD stock performance like today….last week it already set a new 52w low on the chart. It’s a very depressing stock to hold lol

Transmission has broken down and needed to be replaced, brake pads, shock absorber, peeling paint/rust, spark plugs, alternator, AC failed, etc.. Again, for the battery to “fail” it has to be going through some intense usage/pressure or just outright fail. If it’s been going strong for 8 years and been well maintained, no one is going to have to immediately replace the battery once the warranty expires. JD power has estimated a EV battery to last 10-20 years + new studies have shown it to last at least 133K miles at minimum till signs show that it’s bound to break down. Batteries like standard car engines are bound to fail after the period of time it’s supposed to, if everyone lives in fear about the battery alone, that seems to be another underlying problem

I think multiple things can be true at the same time. You might not believe in a certain field or technology but you see the potential in making margin off of it in the market. Also JD might be the head of the bank but there are also multiple execs that manage their own P&L as well that see things differently. So I guess it only makes sense that JPM dips their toes in it - while their CEO has his own opinion.

JD Vance had worked for and was financially backed by Peter Thiel, who has financial interests in both of the industries that are attempting to be combined here. If anyone would be able to convince Brown to support this specific combination of bills, it would be him. The cannabis company Thiel is invested in (LeafLink) claims to process 50% of all US wholesale cannabis commerce. They have a lot of other big money behind them as well. Leaflink did lobby regarding SAFE for 2 years between 2021-2023, but has not lobbied for anything since that time.

As with many other China value trap Cucks, I'm being spit roasted by JD calls and shares. The fucking stock is just barely off its IPO price from a goddamn DECADE ago, it does almost 4 times it's market cap in revenue every year, it beats top and bottom estimates EVERY SINGLE quarter, it just announced an increased dividend, about 10 percent of its market cap in Share Buybacks and it WILL NOT GO UP.  China's equity markets are giving signals that they hit a bottom, China's central bank is starting to get more lenient with QE, but it WILL NOT GO UP.  The common denominator is fucking Xi that arrogant shit head and his merry band of bullshit spewing cabinet members and premiers that say they want to reverse the "Sell China" narrative, but won't do the one goddamn thing that would bring faith in their equity markets, which is stay the fuck out of them and stop ruling every bit of financial influence with a heavy hand.  God fuck China so fucking much.

There’s not much to be skeptical about when it comes to china, even their biggest players in baba and JD have fabricated audits and mislead investors. It took PCAOB 10 years to get into Chinese audits after fighting with CCP for regulation purposes . The line is somewhere down the middle, little false statements from Hindenburg because that’s what they do and fake and misleading audits and accounting firms from china. They don’t just fire their old audit and hire a new audit with the CEO stepping down if it wasn’t fake…. Just my 2 cents. On top of that you have OP misleading with points that haven’t occurred in this. The buyback is not complete and has a 24 month program that might not happen. Hope it gets to $1.50 for you :) looks like it’s going to .20 then .40

You just rehash claims from Hindenburg which have been removed from their website. Do you have any independent proof of these claims or are just taking these at face value? Several international and Chinese companies are registered in the Cayman Islands for tax and liability advantages (Nio/JD/BABA for example). The US auditor has no oversight in China themselves, but they have oversight into the accounting practices for all PCAOB registered auditors.

Glad I sold some of my JD calls this morning. Chart does the exact same thing every day. Goes up to 28 then gets walked back to just under that strike and stays exactly pinned to around 27.70 for hours on end. Very natural price action.

Disagree with black and white view. There are plenty of reasons to buy the right Chinese stocks are the right time. They are heading toward the equivalent of a $278 billion government stimulus. Stocks like JD and BABA will benefit tremendously. I put 2.5% of my portfolio in BABA at $71/Share and another 2.5% in JD at $24.30/share. These are not long term holdings. The idea is to ride them up if/when the stimulus occurs. Not much downside risk if the stimulus does not occur due to how beaten up both stocks already are.

It's not optimal, but one of the better China tech plays imo. They're buying back shares and it's an overall solid and currently cheap business. PDD has a supposedly shady management and JD is too insular. I like NetEase as well, which is my other pick aside Baba when it comes to that type of "China tech".
