Look up Curtis Yarvin. He's a Thiel protegee along with JD Vance. However, while both Yarvin and Vance are Thiel's protegees financially, Thiel and Vance are both Yarvin's followers in terms of ideas. Yarvin's main idea is replacing democracy in the US with autocracy run by a federal "CEO" who has absolute power, a monarch basically. Because Thiel and other right-wing oligarchs like the idea, they support and finance the party that's more likely to put it into practice. Voila - presently we are in a constitutional crisis, with the government ignoring court orders, the president ruling by executive orders, people with all sorts of US citizen or immigrant status, legal or not, whether they've committed any crime or not, being denied due process, kidnapped off the streets and shipped to prisons in El Salvador.

She outlines how JD Vance was put in position by Peter Thiel and provides videos of Vance echoing some of the sentiments of yarvin, including firing large portions of the government and ignoring court orders. I could be very very wrong, but JD Vance, a man picked out of nowhere because he wrote a book on how the rust belt/swings states collapsed is a natural candidate for president in an environment where factories are reopening up. Another thing to consider is that he, or the advisors that are influencing him, do truly believe this is the correct course of action.
