Oh no, not again. People, listen, you'll lose your investment. Take a look at all the senseless BSC projects in the last few days - ICE, FEG, MILK, TACO, whatever. Always the same principle, always the same outcome - you're going to trash your funds.
The BIGGEST reason that I mentioned somewhere else in this post, is simply taxes and leveraging. Capital gain taxes in the US are 30% for short term gains, but by depositing your money into a contract and withdrawing, say DAI, you have not sold your position, eliminating your tax on it. You could also leverage your position. If you think there may be a spike in another coin, but are unsure of what you are holding, you could deposit 1000 USD in ETH and withdraw 750 in DAI to go say, buy TACO coin or something. You are now able to expose yourself to that new coin without selling your position in ETH. If ETH goes up, you are making money, even if you are still not holding it. Another use could be hedging against it. If you think your ETH is going to go down in price, but you arent sure, you could deposit it into the contract to borrow DAI again. If you are right, and ETH goes down, your ETH could be liquidated, but you aren't on the hook to pay back your DAI you borrowed anymore. In the same vein, say you instead deposit ETH for WrappedBTC (BTC on the ETH chain). If BTC goes up in price, it doesn't logically make sense for you to return it since you are loosing money, so you can just not return it and have your ETH liquidated. I am going to add a mention to my lending protocols to also make it clear, that by depositing as collateral, you are ALSO participating as a loaner. If you deposit 1 ETH as collateral, that is gaining APY even though you are borrowing DAI and paying a APR in DAI
