I recently turned 18, and have around $35,000 to invest. I have a car, like $200 debt (credit card which i obviously pay off in full monthly, and am currently unemployed (I quit my job not so long ago I'm wondering what the best course of action is at this moment (PFL below) I have $7,300 in a ROTH IRA (maxed) I have $14,000 in RobinHood stocks ($8,400 in VTI) ($2,700 in VXUS) $2,300 in a personal stock investment (LBRX) I have around $10,000 cash in my room as well (bad idea I need to do something with it) Should i continue to invest? Move my stocks around? Take out of stocks? ALL Tips are welcome, thank you.
This is really big news for the MMA industry and valuations for peers like PFL and $XONI. Can't wait to see where this takes them.
Most UFC cards are snoozers on paper, including their PPVs. Paramount sold off their only competition for scraps (Bellator), PFL is a joke, Rizin is... Japanese and ONE? Also a joke. UFC is a monopoly on major MMA and they aren't growing or promoting stars because they simply don't want to pay people what they're worth. They're going the WWE route and trying to make the fact that it's UFC and not who's on the card worth watching... and people have stopped giving a flying fuck.
It’s got a wide moat since UFC and WWE are the pinnacle of their respective fields (Bellator/PFL and AEW are very far from ever catching up). Earnings are flattish so I don’t see a major reason to buy now, but if shares trend towards $110 I’d get interested.
And you’re a master of reading as well. “MVP literally said himself before his last fight made him feel like a superstar and the way they handle everything (everything, inclusive of all things, aka PRESENTATION) is far more professional than anywhere else he has fought” How many fights per week do you watch exactly? How many have you been to in person? What exactly do you think makes KSW “presentation” so good? 😂 I’ve seen both shit shows you’ve mentioned more than once I watch PFL/Bellator and ONE regularly and I haven’t missed a UFC fight for 5 years. The PRESENTATION of all the others do not come close.
Agreed, PFL is number 2 in this space. Although I’m not sure why you would short a stock that has the brand power you’re talking about. What would propose as a fair value?
Good points. Perhaps I am biased as I have been watching MMA off and on since near its inception as well. To me the evidence of growth is more quantitative than quantitative as hard quantitative is actually quite hard to find regarding MMA surrounding revenue etc…. A couple of soft quantitative metrics would include ppv growth over the past decade for UFC and others (admittedly this has levelled off recently), as the combat sports products market is forecast to grow from $9 B in 2022 to $15.4 B in 2031. Qualitatively, however, combat sports do seem to be gaining a significant following. For example I see increasing numbers of venues advertising that they are hosting UFC ppv’s, fighters (like Connor MacGregor) are now increasingly household names (unlike many years ago), also love it or hate it, but the entrance of social media influencers Jake and Logan Paul has brought attention back to boxing and probably to MMA as well in this regard. However, probably the most telling qualitative indicator in my mind has been the rise in the number of other combat sport promoters ex: PFL is reported to be the fastest growing sports league. Interesting you mention inflation of attendance numbers. I hadn’t come across this in my research. Could you provide more color here as it would definitely affect the thesis.
UFC will not be remotely challenged until Dana White dies and even then it would take unbelievably poor management. I watch combat sports every week and the other banners (One, PFL/Bellator, etc.) do not come close to the level of competition or presentation the UFC brings.
PFL is light years behind UFC in every aspect. Not even close to competing with UFC.
How do you feel about Saudi Arabia buying a stake in PFL?
Victory Square Technologies, Net Asset Value over 80 Million with 15 million market cap. Hydreight Technologies Inc, More revenues in 2023 than its current market cap, no debt. GameOn Entertainment Technologies Inc. More projected revenues in 2024 than Market Cap. I am incredibly bullish on all three of these companies, and in particular, am heavily invested in Victory Square Technologies, which owns 78% of Hydreight and 20% of GameOn among a portfolio of 25 or so companies.
Get.v micro cap tech stock. Just signed deals with the PFL, LaLiga and others on the way. Profitable.
Lol jake paul signed up with the PFL bc his career as a youtuber is going down the drain and becoming more irrelevant as he gets older
Yea, because one guy know how to make money in markets and how they function the other doesn't. You want hundreds of examples of a morning false breakout reversal, the peak formation low inverse H&S reversal in $MRNA on Tuesday because the market broke a previous day's low and also made a PFL H&S. The D3 explosive reversal back into the HOD today on any tech name in the market? Market's are not what you think they are boy wonder. Now go trade your MOMO scanner and wish you knew something
[but physical sales are even smaller than is listed here. ](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.statista.com/statistics/190225/digital-and-physical-game-sales-in-the-us-since-2009/%23:~:text%3DIn%25202018%252C%2520a%2520record%252083,were%2520sold%2520in%2520physical%2520form.&ved=2ahUKEwiYo_Koivf3AhWwIzQIHXmvCFYQFnoECA0QBQ&usg=AOvVaw1g35PFL4SK6hvcMuWJuEVa) They'd lose more opposed to just not offering digital resell. You're creating a market that doesn't exist. There aren't millions of people not buying games because they can't resell them.
FuboTV involved with the PFL suspicious betting activities. I’ll pass!!! Puts on $FUBO
I’m not usually one for sports betting but a couple years ago my old roommate was fighting in the PFL championships so I couldn’t not bet on him. He lost but I won. Though I didn’t know this because I didn’t check my account. Now I need to turn $500 into $3000
You’re an idiot. Future competition should never be downplayed when investing in a company. All it takes is for PFL or Bellator to take over the UFC’s contracts with Disney after expiration for EDR and the UFC to go down the 💩er.
Fk UFC. Loading up on puts. PFL and Bellator are where it’s at.
If anyone's into mma - PFL 4 is on ESPN Bubbaj is the 3rd fight and is an absolute lock
As of now they're the ONLY one taking profits LOL Bellator WAS profitable but only because their ludicrous DAZN deal (which ended early, it was ridiculously one sided and DAZN got shafted so they pulled the plug) With Bellator on Showtime/CBS Viacom there essentially is no value in their media rights domestically.. they're paying themselves to air it. PFL had to raise 65mil just to make this season happen, and won't make a penny. ONE is a fraud. Combate only matters in Mexico and isn't making any money. It's hilarious people think the UFC won't work out when there's literally NO ONE else even close to their level....
Most of the OTC promotions are dead, I believe it's just B2 + XFC that's active and it's really just for extra funding because they're not profitable. I'd avoid all of them. Viacom was public long before they acquired Bellator (which was private, although Eddie Alvarez wanted to buy a part when he was there) - but by the OP's definition Bellator is just as much a public company as the UFC (reality is neither are, they're subsidiaries) PFL has raised $175mil in private capital through individual investors and venture capitalist / investment firms - for sure one day they will need to IPO or something to pay them back.
Wow! I didn't realize about those promotions on OTC markets. Quite a few - good for them to find a way to raise money! (I'd avoid anything to do with Roy Jones and financials..) While Bellator is part of Viacom, I wouldn't say that they made an IPO or any kind of stock offering - unless it was OTC. Weren't they acquired when they were private entity? I was thinking PFL was private, but they seemed to be trying to make a splash in 21.
Alliance MMA was the first and only IPO in MMA - it was a miserable failure for shareholders and most of the promoters, although some made out well. B2 Digital is an MMA company with holdings including HRMMA, Colosseum Combat, UCL, Pinnacle and Strike Hard - they are all micro-regional promotions and currently traded on OTC. XFC was also recently revived and listed on OTC. They haven't done much since their return, they did a time-buy on NBC Sports which was a pretty shitty decision IMO.... nothing of note since. You can also buy shares in Roy Jones Jr Promotions - which airs on UFC Fight Pass. I don't know what type of securities it is classified as - but was def a cash grab (seemed scammy, I passed hard) After the Kimbo Slice/ Elite XC debacle - the ownership behind that show attempted to make a return to the spotlight as ProElite - which was traded OTC before they went under. International Fight League "IPO'd" but they were OTC and not on a major exchange... they failed too. ONE is reportedly contemplating a SPAC - i asked Chatri about it and he acknowledged they had approached an investment banking firm to explore the option but would not say anything else. They likely can't pass any real audits so a true IPO is probably out of the question for them. PFL is on their way to an IPO at some point.. they'll have to do something to keep the Ponzi scheme going. They're still taking on investors left-and-right and had to raise an additional $65mil just to do this season.. all of those shareholders are going to look for a return or liquidation event some day. I'm sure I'm missing some.....
yes they do...? I’ll save you some time. This will never happen. XFC is one of hundreds of small, regional promotions. Very few get to even second, third or fourth place to the UFC. The ones that do have big money behind them: Bellator has Paramount and the PFL acts as a sister to the UFC with an ESPN deal. One FC and Rizin are the only other two major MMA orgs and they each have massive investments from Asian money. The XFC isn’t even a known feeder league for the UFC so save your money and find a better ticker elsewhere. Take it from a lifelong MMA fan.
I am a bot. You submitted a picture of a banned ticker, PFL. Yell at /u/zjz if it's above 1 billion-ish market cap and not related to crypto/pennies/OTC/SPACs.
Same, got in cause "man, I think clean energy is the future, and I really hope it is". Next thing you know I'm up %300% to %400%. PFL.
