funny i probably am over exposed to japan as i have other japanese etfs along with the global. but you can always balance it out with a SPEU or something that is more europe +UK focus. Not that they are gonna fare well in this iran war either.

There is no investment that you can do with $200 that will reliably perform better than just making a budget and sticking to it. $20 per month will do better after a year than $200 one time. That being said, there is a lot that you can learn by investing $200 that will come in really handy when you are able to invest a consistent amount each month. Start by looking up ETF's. SPY or VOO are great starting places. I also like SPEU for globalization. You'll want to get on a brokerage app that lets you buy fractional shares for some of these. I use Fidelity. I would also recommend paper trading (investing with simulated monopoly money) with a bit more to work with. Experiment on your paper trades. Learn what works and what doesn't in this format where it doesn't actually cost you anything. Investopedia is a great resource for learning what terms mean and some basic strategies. I'm a software developer by trade, and used to write code for financial trading software and I got 99% of my business knowledge from there.

Just buy some managed funds with pure exposure to foreign markets: SPEU, EWJ, EEMA, XPP, etc.

I am new to this so forgive my ignorance. I looked up SPY vs SPEU and SPY beats SPEU in every time measurement over the past 5 years. The S&P 500 fund beats the European fund in the past 1 mo, 3 mo, 6 mo, 1yr, 3yr and 5yr So I don't understand. |Funds|SPDR® Portfolio Europe ETF|SPDR® S&P 500® ETF| |:-|:-|:-| |1 month|\+1.80%|\+3.63%| |3 months|\+3.43%|\+8.09%| |6 months|\+16.25%|\+19.87%| |1 year|\+15.64%|\+17.48%| |3 years|\+23.29%|\+24.79%| |5 years|\+12.07%|\+16.36%|

Honestly, Europe and Japan markets have been pretty great this year. Look at SPEU or EWJ vs the S&P500 YTD. Who knows where things will go from here but anyone who pivoted internationally back in Jan has done very well so far.

Look at the 20 year chart of SPEU. It’s up only 20% in 20 years. And if Trump wasn’t so incompetent it would barely up 2%

Right. I didn't time perfectly, but I did time it "good enough". My larger retirement accounts I moved over to 75% Europe focused in late Feb, previously 100% US market. In early May moved 50/50 US/World as I still see too many red flags in the greater US economy. I know the market doesn't always represent reality and the opportunity cost of sitting out, but if we make it to Q4 with the market proving to be as resilient as it's been I'll consider tipping the scales back towards the US. Make no mistake however, the European stock market has benefitted greatly from instability of US economic policy. Compare SPEU to SPY YTD for example.

The market has absolutely proven far more resilient than I though possible. However, compare SPY vs SPEU YTD...

>Any US crisis will inevitably be a global crisis This has historically been true. But honestly it feels like the same blind logic under which the current administration is working, that America is the world economy so all will follow. I'm not sure this absolutely applies this time around as we are already seeing flight out of US Bonds, traditionally a global safe haven. That money has to go somewhere and many other countries are already making moves to reduce trade barriers and we have China swinging their purchasing power towards Canada and Europe. Many are predicting the long term effect maybe the decoupling of USD as the global currency, this could be the first test. We can already see SPDR -10% YTD vs SPEU +10% YTD, I can see this trend continuing.

Look at the 3/6/12 month on the SPEU compared to SPY. It looks much better. China will buy their dip and already are. None of the other world's economies were on the same bubble

Very easy! There are ETFs that invest solely in European stocks, such as SPEU or FLEE, and you can trade them just as you would any other fund

I didn’t want any Taiwan exposure due to possible China invasion so I went SPEU

I’m buying FXE, GLDM, SPEU, EUAD, and keeping JEPI for some U.S. exposure and the dividend (for now). I think hedging with gold and the EUR is important until we get past the government shutdown and debt ceiling threats, at minimum.

look into FEZ, SPEU or VGK.

Are there any good stoxx600 stock for US investors? Best i can find is FEZ which is the stoxx 50... and SPEU which isn't necessarily the same thing.

As octagonal said already, stock price shouldn’t be the deciding factor when it comes to an investment. Its market cap, whether it has positive revenue growth, good profit margins, growth year over year, healthy cash balance, etc are what you should be looking at. If you don’t know what that all is then you’re simply not ready to invest yet especially if you choose to invest in specific companies in my opinion. Pretty important things to learn about. The good thing is is that you have plenty of time. And American advice is very applicable to Europeans as well. Google is your friend here. There are many websites that show you how to start your investing journey just by searching, ex: European beginners in the stock market. Plenty of results from that. Or say screw it and throw it in an index etf like SPEU and forget about it. Just have to put in the effort.

I prefer VTI. 75% of my portfolio is in VTI and the other 25% is in SPEU. I’m basically just going with a set it and forget it portfolio
