The compounding is BRUTAL too. Take a look at TSLA and TSLQ. On May 30, TSLA was around the same price it is today, 346ish. TSLQ, the 2x inverse TSLA ETF, was at 17ish on May 30. Today it's at 14. The underlying asset effectively had no movement but the leveraged ETF lost over 15%.
Everyday I see videos of robotaxis doing the wackiest stuff. And every robotaxi actually needs a driver keeping an eye on it! Yet TSLA keeps pumping. I think it is time to start buying TSLQ.
I buy TSLQ when TSLA goes over 340-350 now. I buy TSLL when it drops to 290-310. Repeat.
I've had luck just buying TSLQ on TSLA run ups and selling as it retreats. Makes me less nervous about having the future timing correct.

I held TSLA for 6 years. It was my first ever 10 bagger back in 2021. The performance since hasn’t been amazing but last year I managed to still return 140% in 2024 and a quick 30% YTD early in the year after selling it off and going into TSLQ. I’m still bullish on the stock long term but I don’t hold any right now.

That stock was once nicknamed "The Widowmaker" for the divorces and poverty it caused highly leveraged traders. It has over THREE separate 2x and 3x bullish AND bearish derivative ETFS created just for it, like TSLR, TSLQ, ect, and it has enough volitility in both directions to keep them all solvent. How high would TSLQ go if TSLA went bankrupt?
I’ve read most of the comment here and am more confused. Simple scenario. I want to make a $10K bet that TSLA is significantly lower in value in 12 months. I buy $10K worth of TSLQ and hold it for 12 months. My understanding is that if I’m right and TSLA drops significantly then I’m ahead more than the percentage drop of TSLA. If I’m wrong and TSLA continues to rise then at worst case I lose most or even all of my $10K. Am I wrong? What am I not seeing or understanding here.

Move into value stocks (P/E below 10, usually with dividend too), short term bonds (like SGOV), and shorting growth stocks (SQQQ, TSLQ) With the high inflation, low growth, dollar depreciation environment looming, look into gold and silver, international (DAX, FEZ, ILF, FXI, UAE), real estate, and commodities Buy BRK.B which is well positioned for a bear market Once QQQ starts showing solid growth (in 1-8 years) start buying TQQQ slowly and increasingly aggressively

Better to play TSLQ than to buy puts and calls. I've timed TSLQ buys a few times and made money each time. Just wait for a run up (like today) and wait for it to fall.
In my experience you don't want to buy TSLQ as TSLA is ripping. It seems obvious but it's hard to time when it will start to drop, and before you know it, you're down 15% - 20%. You need to wait for catalysts then buy in

And it's not selling either because it's ugly, impractical, and performs as well as a Geo Metro off-road or in the snow. And that cheaper model that's supposedly coming up ? To be clear, I have about 8K in TSLQ right now, I think the other shoe has to drop at some point. Which admittedly was about 13k when I bought in, so I’m down significantly on my position. I honestly don’t even know who is buying them right now, but people are in the US. I just think that whoever is willing to buy them still, it’s going to happen in Q3 because of the credits coming to a close. After September the EV credits end and the carbon credit ends. I think this tanks sales and also tanks margins because of the carbon credits. I specifically mentioned timeline because of the above factors. I think in the Q4 earnings we’ll see a history drop in YoY sales as well as a historic drop in margins. This is when I think we finally see the other shoe drop and start seeing big drops in the stock price. But it could be that the market knows the above and we start seeing the stock drop in Q3 even with improved numbers.
I said I was going to buy TSLQ and none of you poopoo faces said anything, so I didn’t do it. And now it’s plumping in the AH😞 I HATE YOU GUYS!

What about buying options on TSLQ is that more ideal then holding TSLQ directly? Like if I want to gamble on the fact that I think sometime in 2025 Tesla is going to tank to sub 250, and I don’t have enough money to do puts, from a high level, how do I figure out the optimal buy in TSLQ? Any good recommendations for reading about how these inverse ETFS work and how you can take advantage of them if you are down to gamble a few hundred? IE, I’m ok with tossing a few hundred on my NFL team winning thr SB every year, how do I risk the same but on a stock I think will shit the bed before end of year.
