>I believe PBS (or ABS) will eventually solve this if it becomes a problem. Possibly. However, a key problem with "eventually" when dealing with low probability events is that it isn't ever a problem, until (randomly, and unpredictably) it is. By which time it may be too late. >There is no way to prevent organizations from spinning up unlimited 32ETH validators controlled by a single node Or multiple nodes, for that matter. Ultimately, the key mistake in all of the math behind Ethereum's security is that there is an assumption that one validator is one mind. For example, we have a 'slashing' penalty in the event of equivocation by one validator. But if the point of equivocation is to earn more than 32 ETH, the one validator slashed is just a cost of doing business.

I believe PBS (or ABS) will eventually solve this if it becomes a problem. It is so hard to prevent centralization of mining pools or centralization or staking pools on any PoW and PoS network. There is no way to prevent organizations from spinning up unlimited 32ETH validators controlled by a single node, so it's pointless not to allow larger validator sizes. Instead, the network needs to have different protocols to keep the network safe so that even if there is centralization, there is virtually no risk of attacks.

Ummmm I think it should restrict - gambling - alcohol outlets - payments to McDonald’s These have a direct link to deaths and reduced productivity in society as a result of loss of life and livelihood. It’s estimated that due to heart disease, gambling addictions and alcohol abuse We are costing the nation enormously. I buy bitcoin with the funds But funnily enough I was putting money into the exchange to send it overseas to start a hospital for a village in Nigeria! And I don’t have to pay stupid bank fees and exchange rate extortion. Each life lost costs the government about 5.4M it’s estimated. ( ABS stat ) Bitcoin performed better than the property and share market combined during the last 7 years. The scams you’re talking about is pretty much not for all investors and most just buy ETH and BTC. Think about the tripe you’re being fed

Great question. We are working on a plan to get public equity native on Provenance and trading on Figure Markets this year, but we already have over $9B in loans on chain and are working to have our upcoming ABS bonds trade on Figure Markets. We have an Alternative Trading System from the SEC/Finra that allows us to trade blockchain native securities that self settle.

>Your deposits are simply converted to loans. Car loans, home loans, student loans. Your bank deposits are FDIC insured even if there’s a bank run... Nope. Banks *are not* and *have not been* using a fractional reserve system for close to a century *if not more* (that goes for either central bank issued "reserves" or prudentially retained "reserves" aka a portion of customer deposits). When banks lend, they *create* deposits. From a 2014 report from the [Bank of England - PDF](https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/-/media/boe/files/quarterly-bulletin/2014/money-creation-in-the-modern-economy.pdf) >In the modern economy, most money takes the form of bank deposits. But how those bank deposits are created is often misunderstood: the principal way is through commercial banks making loans. **Whenever a bank makes a loan, it simultaneously creates a matching deposit in the borrower’s bank account, thereby creating new money.** *The reality of how money is created today differs from the description found in some economics textbooks:* **Rather than banks receiving deposits when households save and then lending them out, bank lending creates deposits.** *In normal times, the central bank does not fix the amount of money in circulation, nor is central bank money ‘multiplied up’ into more loans and deposits.* There goes the money multiplier. In reality, banks *do not loan out other people's money*. Even when there were reserve requirements after the late 1800's, they largely fulfilled a clearing and/or regulatory function and were not a prerequisite for bank lending. There are no reserves being fractioned. Banks *create* deposits by lending, they do not get them from "elsewhere". **Now... What does a bank run look like?** Since banks don't warehouse cash (digital or otherwise).. they *create* the most used monetary format (deposits)... We can look at examples like SVB. Folks that left SVB just transferred deposits from one institution to another. Banks *are* this circulatory function (moving deposits around). When the banking system is healthy (and the management of the bank isn't silly), then the institution replaces the deposit liability with borrowing by pledging assets (e.g. treasuries, MBS, ABS, etc). What could be called a "bank run" today.. only occurs if a bank has no ability to put up collateral, or can't find a counterparty to borrow from due to perceptions of risk (even when the bank does have the appropriate collateral).

I'm kind of facing the same situation here actually. For me I drive to work only for around 10 minutes but in a very dodgy road, so I'm also in a dilemma because I guess upgrading my car could possibly save my life should I be involved in an accident. I currently drive a 2009 car without airbags or ABS brakes, so I wouldn't say drive in a s*** box and buy BTC. However if you have zero concerns about your safety with your current car then I would say definitely buy Bitcoin.

Please don't compare cars and crypto - the first one is what quite a lot of people on Earth use and had at least a passing by understanding of the terms you chose as examples. Things like ABS are understood generally all around the world. Crypto is still young and it's gonna take a long time before all of us can talk in acronyms and abbreviations and understand and be understood. And to counter your point further and using your advice: I did google all 3 CZ, PHEV and ABS. PHEV and ABS are explained as a top results correctly. CZ is what? My 3 top results: Česká zbrojovka? or top Chech Republic website [czub.cz](https://czub.cz) ? or [Cz-USA.com](https://Cz-USA.com) guns manufacturer? Thanks for adding nothing to the conversation. I bet it would take you way less time to actually provide a valuable answer but instead you've chosen to be a dick, using very mediocre example.

If you join a car subreddit, do you tell people to stop writing PHEV and ABS, or do you google the relevant acronyms?

I’ll agree to basic premise here, with the one caveat that you aren’t comparing apples to apples over time. For example a $45k car today will likely include leather interior, power windows, moon roof, advanced cruise control, ABS, driver assist systems, AC, multi point heated seats, heated steering wheel, GPS,satellite linked radio, entertainment system, etc.... the car in 1959 had heat and an AM radio. So yeah I’ll agree “inflation is theft over time”... but it’s not quite as bad as being presented here.

They implemented hedonic adjustments in the cpi formula. Everything is adjusted back to 1981 references. for example a car back then had a cassette tape player and no anti-lock brakes etc. Todays cars come with ABS, GPS, CD, MP3 players etc and this is all cut out of the equations for cpi, even though you can't buy a car anywhere with a cassette player, no abs etc. The cpi formulas have changed under every presidential administration to hide the true inflation.

3D print it in PETG/ABS. Drop that into another 3D print and enclose it entirely, so its unreadable, then break the box open if you need access to it. Have multiple of these at different locations. Odds are multiple locations won't all start on fire at the same time.

"lego steels"? Take a pot, heat the pot to \~220c (oven works well), melt in the pot LEGOs or 3D printer ABS filament, once melted, dip whatever you want to coat, let dry. (acetone can be used to melt remaining ABS and clean the pot, otherwise the pot is lost). That's it. The ABS plastic is used instead of the wax. No wax.

I use thermoplastics (ABS, from 3D printer filament). Melt in a pot, repeatedly dip into it for a nice coat, let cool completely, perfectly sealed. You can also do a cold method by melting the ABS in acetone, doing the same dip but cold, and then letting the acetone dry/evaporate, leaving a nice plastic coating. Much better than nail polish, pretty much a LEGO shell around anything you want.
