No its not how it work. Imagine you bought for 100$ of BigPigeonCoin when 1 token was worth 1$, meaning that you have 100 BPC. Now imagine the token is up by 1000% (x10) wich mean that 1 Token of BPC is now worth 100$, Since you have 100 BPC worth 100$ each, you have a total of 1000$ (or 1k) in BPC. Now, if you sell $1k of BPC at the current price (100$) and try to buy $1k of BPC at the current price you'll get exactly the same amount of token, since each token is worth 100$ with 1000$ you would be able to buy 100 token, same as when you started... I think what is confusing you is that you're looking at the % and think that going out and win will change something. But while its true that 10% gain on 1000$ is more than 10% on 100$, if you sell something and buy ut at the same price you'll get the same amount of token and will not earn more.

Shares, crypto, etc capital losses should be registered so they can offset future gains. Only problem is I can’t find the declared loss (balance) ANYWHERE on my HMRC account.
