I don't think people realize what amazing stuff is happening between IOTA and STMicroelectronics

1) essentially the SEC argues that all ICO/ETO/STOs by their very nature happen to be security offerings. The underlying logic is that a centralised entity is seeking to capitalise itself whilst investors are looking for a return on their investment. 2) bitcoin has been deemed not a security and mining is not considered a security offering as the process is decentralised. (even though one wonders how pre-mine factor into that opinion) ethereum is not yet officially in the clear, we have comments from SEC staff that implies they do not consider it a security, but their justification is kinda inconsistent, as ethereum launched with a token sale. that inconsistent logic is one of the examples that ripple has been building its defense strategy on... interestingly etherdelta take down came with the following notice: "whether it's decentralised or not, whether it's on smart contract or not, what matters it's an exchange" the SEC took action against the lead developer and the CTFC commissioner clearly stated in a speech later on that smart contract developers are on notice that releasing code into the ether invites them to potential liability for any rule violations even if they sever their connection with the code. this was a big thing back then.

Don‘t listen to these people, they obviously don‘t know much about crypto technology. The IOTA Foundation doesn‘t take part in hyping the project just for the sake of hype. It doesn‘t have much fame and the traded volume is very low, yet it still manages to be among the top projects. The adoption that IOTA has already received and the partnerships the IOTA Foundation is engaging in is second to none. Not only major corporations like Dell, Intel and STMicroelectronics (Europe’s larges chip manufacturer) but also governments (check out Project ALFRIED by ETO Gruppe which is a 11 mio. € funded projects by the ministry of transportation). The feeless character of the miner-less and blockchain-less technology is a major breakthrough. After successfully launching Chrysalis (IOTA 1.5) in April, the last remaining step is IOTA 2.0. Instead of focussing on the hype and bullshit within the crypto bubble, IOTA is taking a completely different path and they focus on real world adoption, which is looking very promising. The crypto space is filled with people that consider price action and market cap the gold standard when assessing a projects value. If this were true, Dogecoin or Shiba would be the ultimate technology. Spoiler: It isn‘t. They‘re just slightly different blockchains with very similar problems to Bitcoin. IOTA aims to erase these problems with a new kind of consensus mechanism. I‘ve been in crypto for 4 years and IOTA is the only investment I consider useful. Short term price action doesn‘t matter to me. At least it‘s breaking out of the crypto bubble, which most of the other blockchain based projects will never achieve.

> (I'm looking at you ADA XLM VET IOTA and similar projects) I don't know about ADA, XLM and VET, but IOTA is one of the projects that actually tries to get away from the things you dislike and describe here, the vapoware speculation aspect of crypto. Here are some things the IOTA Foundation accomplished in the last quarter: - CGI and Nordakademie partner with IOTA Foundation for tamper proof data exchange - First NFT platform on the tangle announced by NFT Marketplace - **Zebra Technologies and IOTA Foundation present Digital Green Certificate for secure vaccination certificate** - **IOTA Foundation announces partnership with Crypto Finance AG for custody solution** - IOTA Foundation opens the possibility for the community treasury - **Zignar Technologies presents IOTA based precision agriculture solution** - IOTA Foundation joins the International Alliance for Mobility Testing & Standardization - IOTA Foundation presents it's new consensus algorithm on Wolfram Research - IOTA Chrysalis goes live flawlessly - IOTA mentioned as supply chain solution in INABTA presentation for G20 event - DIN Foundation shows presentation for IOTA Identity - **STM updates X-Cube-IOTA1 for IOTA Chrysalis** - IOTA Foundation releases IOTA 2.0 Devnet (Nectar) - H2020 ENSURESEC project reaches second milestone - Fetch.ai and IOTA Foundation collaborate to offer autonomous economic agents on the tangle - European Commission grants €535.000 to the IOTA Foundation over their SECANT platform - First DEX on the tangle announced by Tangleswap.finance - **ETO Group announces that Project ALFRIED will be built on IOTA Chrysalis** - EU-funded ORCHESTRA project grants IOTA Foundation €250.000 to provide expertise for integrating its DLT They're doing real ground work in adoption and research of the dlt technology. Also IOTA has bascially no marketing as the IOTA Foundation is a non profit organisation and they're legally bound by regulations. I don't think ADA, XLM and Vet are good examples of what you dislike either, they're solid projects too. They also try their best to get real adoption. I don't understand your statement, maybe I interpreted your words wrong?

>How would it have worked out if you were still holding that iota now? He said he bought IOTA mid 2017, so that worked out quite okay. Of course there have been much bigger gainers, but IOTA is gaining a lot of traction right now: - The recent partnership with Dell and Intel on Project Alvarium - STM Microelectronics bringing IOTA tech on their microcontrollers!!! - NFT and DEX on the Tangle have been announced - New network update Chrysalis has gone live flawlessly - IOTA Foundation getting funded by EU grants in the millions - ETO Group announces Project ALFRIED with IOTA - IOTA partnering with Crypto Finance AG which just got bought by the german stock exchange (Deutsche Börse AG) I could go on, you get the point. Sry for blatant chilling ;) I just wanted to put it out there that IOTA could be just before its next boom. Selling now, would be exactly what u/fosuro describes, selling before the next bull run in my opinion.

You‘re looking at unestablished tech in an unestablished infrastructure. The protocol has only been launched 5 years ago and has only reached production-readiness 5 weeks ago. All of crypto is in a proof-of-concept stage but as we speak very innovative technology is being developed based on the IOTA Tangle. Just a few examples: Project Alvarium by Dell and Intel - aiming at creating a trust-score of data from the edge; ST Microelectronics has implemented IOTA compatibility into their own chips; the ETO Group received a 11 million Euro grant from the German government to innovate self-driving car infrastructures As a matter of fact just a few days ago the first IoT product with IOTA integration, an energy consumption sensor, was put out into the market. It‘s not a mindblowing device but it‘s an important first step. This is the way things get started. Don‘t expect things to develop over night. The bigger the partnership, the longer it takes, that‘s just how big corporations function. It‘s not like building the next iPhone, it‘s inventing the cell phone. I believe you know what I mean. Patience is key in any investment and in any form of new technology.

It is, however mainly (not all) proof of concepts at the moment. Some examples: Dell, Intel and IOTA have recently demonstrated Project Alvarium: https://blog.iota.org/together-iota-and-dell-technologies-demonstrate-project-alvarium/ IOTA is being used in multiple German airports to verify COVID-19 results: https://iottechnews.com/news/2021/jan/11/frankfurt-airport-using-iota-verify-covid-19-test-results/ Bosch has an SDK: https://www.bosch-connectivity.com/newsroom/blog/xdk2mam/ Jaguar Land Rover has a proof of concept: https://blog.iota.org/earn-as-you-drive-with-jaguar-land-rover-and-iota-3c744d8c0cba/ STMicroelectronics (look them up if you don’t know them) also supports IOTA: https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/x-cube-iota1.html / https://blog.iota.org/st-iota-e61ebb43942e/ German Ministry of Transport together with ETO GRUPPE also plans on using IOTA for a project: https://www.youtube.com/embed/zwVf4t8bhl8 Taiwan/Taipei is using IOTA as a proof of concept for waste management and also partnered working on smart cities: https://ecosystem.iota.org/projects/taipei-city-hall-waste-management-poc / https://iota-news.com/biilabs-id-system-based-on-iota-supports-taipei-on-the-way-to-smart-city/ Also South Korea/South East Asia: https://blog.iota.org/iota-foundation-signs-strategic-agreement-with-south-korean-obsr-foundation-and-tanglehub/ I am 100% positive that I have left out a lot but these are some big examples.

It is basically a protocol, Dell and Intel are working on a project with it to secure their data. https://blog.iota.org/together-iota-and-dell-technologies-demonstrate-project-alvarium/ Imagine it this way, it is a protocol for exchanging information without fees (just like a typical computer), but you can also charge for that data if you want. Pay for parking with an electronic wallet automatically and pay by the second so you aren't paying longer than your stay, or electric charging, or sell traffic data, weather data, or systems data. Charge for it if you want, or don't charge for it. If you're using it mostly internally you aren't seeing fees, but you can package that info and easily sell it if you want to. Some projects: https://www.iota.org/solutions/mobility-and-automotive ETO Gruppe / IOTA autonoomous driving sensors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwVf4t8bhl8&t=8s
