Again you've missed the point. If you have capital available, you can use that capital to make money *by investing it in assets you believe will appreciate*. Whether or not you already own some of the asset is irrelevant. If you do own some of it, the price you paid for it is irrelevant. You disagree because you don't understand the concept of *sunk cost*. If you have an investment that's currently valued at, say £2000, and you think that investment is likely to increase in value *more than other investments that you could make with £2000* within your investment time horizon, you should keep that investment. If you believe the investment ISN'T likely to keep up with other investments you could make with £2000, you should sell the investment and redeploy your capital elsewhere. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOUR AVERAGE ACQUISITION COST WAS. If you believe it will perform well FROM THIS POINT FORWARD, you keep it. If not, you sell it. **Average acquisition cost is irrelevant to the decision.**

They went from 140-179k in my area NH in 2014 to 1 in 4 houses is going for over a Million. I put a bid in for a 180k home in’14, I offered 170k and they pay ALL closing fees. They accepted. I was putting 40k cash down & financing the remainder. My mortgage was like $1,700. I had no one to give me any advice( no excuse) I chickened out and now I’m paying that for a 2 bedroom for past 10 years. I would be on my 3rd multi family by now. They say don’t look back just go forward-FORWARD in the housing market is impossible for a single guy now!
