But taken this last crowdload for example, KSM was $300-$360 when they got the funds, and for example the KMA crowdloaners just got their KSM back, all at $60-$65. Keep in mind you may be reinvesting a far lower amount than you loaned
Honestly most of the crowdloan projects (even the big names) are not doing a damn thing in terms of development, or perhaps they're working on things that are far out, and that's why we haven't heard much from em. ACA/KMA have been some of the worst decisions I've made in the space, so far. Never crowdloaning again, I'd much rather just stake and be rewarded for participating in an ecosystem, like over at Cosmos.
ICP and KMA. A couple of death holds
This is what stock IPOs look like, typically, and it's the same thing happening here as well, just with crypto. VCs paid less than $1 per ICP iirc, so this is absolutely nothing to them, just more free money. A similar situation to compare it to, would be the crowdloaned coins in the DotSama ecosystem. A couple of them went on to set some new ATHs, but most of them have done nothing but crater since they got listed. KMA for example settled around .06 the first day, and is currently at .002. Rekt.
I bought my KSM at a pretty low price, I ended up committing it to receive calamari KMA. Kind of disappointing because at one point my KSM 4-5x’d and it was locked :(
I did this (not on Kraken) with KSM, where staking 1 KSM got you 10,000 KMA (currently worth about £48). Just remember that your DOT is locked up for 2 years, so if we return to a bull market in that time and DOT moons, you might be gutted that you can't sell it. You'll be able to sell the tokens you received, but they may not be worth much.
KMA, buddy of mine said it was good to day trade…..that was 3 weeks ago and about $600……just breaking even or a small loss of $100 would be nice…
It's not my fault if my stupid brother listened to me when I told him to buy KSM and loan it for KMA, which has dropped 75% since release.
What's KMA? Is that the Kusama test network that for some reason has real world value? Does Goerli ETH have value too?
The debut of KMA has me interested as well! But I have no answers.
