That speculation is what added value to the collection since there was no artwork to begin with. It runs on the opposite end of "just a jpg NFT" but people gonna people. I can't stand here and say one group is using the standard right and the other wrong since there really is no *right* way to use it. And sometimes people just like owning something cool. People used to pay for phone wallpapers and ringtones they didn't own, but it made them happy. If you own a cryptokitty that's reliant on their server to host your file, you can still enjoy your cat and the game today and that's apparently worth $20 to lots of people. When the game goes offline everyone will still have their tokens, maybe someone will use them in another game. Sometimes people just buy nonsense, that'll never change. Being a jpg doesn't affect their ability to buy shitcoins or not. As more time goes on I'm sure creators will find novel ways for people to plug in using their NFT, taking it awat from its original use case and repurposing it for something else. Then if you want to give Bored Ape holders diamond skin in your game you just have to authenticate that one collection in your contract, so if someone mints their own Ape using the same artwork the system won't recognize it. There's a lot of value in having a unique token! It's really the same thing that gives BTC value, if I own the BTC from block X that means you don't - that's extremely difficult to come up with in a decentralized system. NFTs solve this problem using Eth except they have room for additional data, however that data is used.

Have you heard of the NFT project called LOOT? It's literally just NFTs of lists of words like "sword", "backpack", etc. Things that might be useful in games. That's all it is. Now there's a whole community around it, and multiple developers have voiced interest in developing a game around the Loot NFT and using those NFTs as game items. So if there was a really popular game/set of NFTs, it is in a lot of developers' interests to build on top of it and make it compatible in their own games. You don't need the original dev to make it compatible with anything.
Maybe you need to realize that not everyone is concerned about just bulls n bears n LOOT.
I feel like this is very far away, if it ever comes. Look at all the work to be done. Lets say you bought a LOOT sword or a Punk or an Ape. Im working on a fantasy game. I would have to either build support for each of those assets (visually or functionally) to fit in my world so it doesnt break, overpower, or clash visually for the smallest number of individual users -- why would I do that? Makes no sense. Maybe 2nd gen NFTs or a Chainlink library allows universal attributes to lower this. Or if its just very superficial, like wearing your NFT as a tshirt or frame in your VR home, thats not that meaningful. I love the idea but when it comes down to practical execution i am skeptical
I am a low cap investor. Some 4X+ coins in the past couple of months I have had include VINCI, TRANQ, UNO, LOOT and more. I am not saying invest in these (don’t buy TRANQ right now, possibly xTRANQ). Here are ways I find low cap gems. I look at developing chains official ecosystem and many of the top 50-400 range blockchains* have low caps listed on their official ecosystem, I then investigate. Many chains from Conflux to Zenon to Harmony to Solana to Near to Fantom are offering development grants. I look at the forums and and announcements for those grants. I then frequently buy cryptos that received those grants since some due diligence is already done (often with more access than the public has) by the blockchain giving out the grant. Nomics has lower listing standards than Coinmarketcap and Coin Gecko. Another way is I look at the blockchain explorer, look got coins without logos and look them up. I tend to stay away from BSC unless it is a cross listing or there is a specific reason they are on there. UNO is ETH and BSC with their next version being built on Polkadot. The BSC just increases low fee access temporarily. (This is what I want to see with a coin that is on BSC). I stay away from blockchains that I don’t see a great future for.

It was an experiment and totally advertised as such - to which people loved (and hated, to be fair!) and we see the effects to this very day. Pretty cool in my opinion. The idea with the project ($X) is the community decides what happens with it. Just like in Algebra - *x* is unknown at the current time. Instead of being *told* what the coin does, you get to *collaborate* and choose what it does. It's actually really original and worth the experiment, at the very least.

What are people's thoughts on the metaverse and decentralized games? Yes NFTs are just jpegs but they offer advantages in 10x easier community building and accessibility vs. the traditional art world and, what I think is more interesting, composability to craft a world of interrelated games.
