What I am saying is based off of simple data science trends and metcalfe's law. Do you know what metcalfe's law is? Let me give you an unrefined non-crypto example tho: I invent a new form of the internet. This new internet is fast and instant and free. Sounds great right? But there are a few catches: You have to have an iPhone, not an android device. In the beginning the people who use this new internet are the ones in charge. They might not like some things that newer people say or do on this new internet. They could remove new users if they want. Oh, and **here is the biggest kicker:** people on the new internet that I invented won't be able to talk to people on the old internet. So that means facebook, gmail, yahoo, duck duck go, Xbox Live, World of Warcraft whatever... These things won't work on the new internet. This is exactly the same problem modern crypto faces. We do see some use for interoperability, like wBTC, RENBTC, etc. etc. but these are still cumbersome solutions to newcomers.
You've only confirmed many people's suspicions of the "Bitcoin maxi" myopic view when you say things like this :- > I have said this a dozen times - nothing will replace bitcoin - but I have previously failed to emphasize that some cryptocurrencies do have a use case. At best, there will be apps and dapps that will become "interoperable with" bitcoin - hBTC, RENBTC, wBTC, etc. This is so ignorant it's not even funny. Blockchain ecosystems exist well outside of any notion that Bitcoin influences them. I know you will respond and talk about price next. You are so blind.
Sorry the quick reason for why you should ignore WBTC/RENBTC is that their prices are pegged to BTC, so theyre not really different investments. They just allow BTC to be used different. Those other fake bitcoins are pretty much pointless.
RENBTC and WBTC are pointless, if you don’t know how to use them (and it seems you don’t). For your purposes, they’re just “normal bitcoin” placed on another network. My advice would be to only buy “normal bitcoin”.
