Just one search on YouTube, asking for an explanation of bitcoin can keep you occupied for a weeks worth of content. If you think you don’t have time to listen or watch, do it while you’re doing other things. I believe the main purpose is that with the future advance of AI it’ll be difficult to tell humans and bots apart. Having a WC ID will prove that you are human and can be used across any industry that may benefit from such proof. The internet being a fairly obvious example.

I don’t think there has to be something dark or sinister here. More that profit motive is what it is. Even if the current leaders are committed to the positive vision, what happens when the backers start demanding a return on their investment? Breaking free from the demands of a profit seeking corporate structure is the essential point of Bitcoin. If these world coin peeps want to demonstrate the same level of integrity as Satoshi, they could have released the project and immediately divested themselves from it. Have they (I have no idea)? Decentralization means at some point there is no longer any governing body who can influence it, no matter how badly they wish they could. That includes owning a massive stake which could be used to manipulate the price. I don’t know if WC is like that, so you?
