Same story as many other Bitcoin owners. Invested $1000 on 4/12/2011 into BTC. Originally planned to use it on Silk Road as an anonymous currency. Well, I got some stuff locally and forgot about the Bitcoin. So it has sat there for a decade. And is worth give or take $65 million.
Clarification on Chia Farming and drive lifespan
It doesn't matter that crypto was supposed to be a currency. What type of asset it truly is will be defined by how it is used, and that can change over time. We should try harder to understand those use patterns instead of being disappointed by them.

I run a full (Umbrel) node, lightning node and Pi-Hole on an Intel NUC (NUC7CJYHN) with a WD Blue SA510 1TB SSD and 8gb Ram. Total cost: EUR 214,80. Works like a charm.
I heard that disk have some bug, maybe a WD one is better
I'm running it on a budget custom PC (ASRock, FM2, 8GB, 1T WD Red) and Kubuntu KDE Plasma (just about the slickest out-of-the-box Linux I've ever used). I didn't prune and have about 250GB HD space left in the main partition which is plenty. Need a big USB drive for Timeshift backups (the first one will take about 5 days). My next efforts will be a new hardware firewall rule or two for my router because without a VPN, I feel like my parts are hanging out with no pants on. I have a VPN sub (PIA which I've used for a long time, tried others, and always come back to it) but it doesn't do custom port forwarding and I'm not about to buy another one that does. So no wallet on there just yet. Anyone can see the core node IPs waving at them like "here I am, try to hack me it's all good." Or am I missing something? Not Tor, I don't trust it. Looking into either a Trezor or Ledger basic cold wallet.
2btc out there on an 80gb WD if anyone wants to look.

maybe its a rare case ,the nfts for WD empires are fairly diversified

I think people should definitely check out [Dawn's appearance on Lex Fridman's podcast](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhY95m-WD_E), there's also a [shorter video where she's interviewed by Andrew Ng](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMKl4ui7k-8), who is a power house himself in terms of AI and deep learning.
Understanding AI, means also having to understand the way AI attacks secure environments. I believe the term is called adversarial machine learning. Dawn Song, was on Lex Fridman's podcast, talking about. Recommended if you want to get more insight on deep learning, and AI https://youtu.be/HhY95m-WD_E?t=1010 We have to come to the realisation, that AI is now part of our daily lives, and if web3 is going to be next iteration of the internet, then AI has to become a part of it

Binance WD fees are some of the best, particularly for MATIC (at least in Australia). I basically rely on them to withdraw to Polygon without spending multiple dollars on just that.

Yeah, the sad thing is you have to pay to withdraw your coin off exchange and some exchange charge quite a high fee. Usually i wait for 2 or 3 DCA before i moved the coin so the WD fee is only a small fraction of what i want to withdraw.
