The past and present belongs to tokens with use cases, too. Only when tricksters like Elon musk convinces a horde of fools to buy some stupid dog coin does use case go out the window. Tokens without utility pump then dump or never pump at all because nobody needs them and even when they're available to farm with you're just guaranteeing permanent impermanent loss. Some really amazing projects have tokens for no other reason than rewards. PACOCA, CELR and YEL are a few good examples. Liquidity providers would have been better off to receive their rewards in a stablecoin or native coin (BNB, FTM, MATIC) than rewards token with unlimited supply and no other use case. Those tokens are just dumped to buy something else so why not give users that something else to begin with. Not every project needs it's own token.
Any coin that has no utility or it's only utility is being a reward token. Sometimes the same coin can be a shitcoin on one network and not a shitcoin on another network. Take BIFI as an example. There's no boost on Beefy vaults on BSC but there is for BIFI holders on other chains. SFP has no utility as a holder still has to put in a ton of work for the WHO offerings instead of just getting free airdrops as a SFP holder. SYN from Synapse Protocol looks a shitcoin too unless I'm missing something. A stablecoin bridge is awesome but what the hell is SYN token for again? Also, CELR and YEL are nothing but throwaway reward tokens.

YEL, a de-fi with a automated liquidity pool system..just select one net (matic, ftm etc), deposit the main token of the net and select the risky mode u want and they gonna find the best APY for u
DIVI, ADA, YEL, and ERG. I'm definitely deepest into DIVI but like each project a lot for different reasons.
YEL (u can buy at apeswap), 50 mi market cap, its a De-fi with a normal resources of a De-fi but they propose a new tool (equilibrium) that works like a liquidity tool for newbies, you just put a coin (BNB, ETH, MATIC and FTM), and choose one of 3 modes of risk (like very risky but with high APY or low risky with low apy) and the protocol will automatically put your money in the best pool for that system, I have a small bag on that bc is very new and the equilibrium it self it wasn't even released but I liked the ideia
