Sounds like my luck in nearly every trade I’ve made since ‘21. I list my assets in SOUN and was really fortunate I feel to find TPET. I’m gonna sit on the 40,000 shares and see what the future holds at .32
There's no point in buying shares then immediately exercising a put. The reason it's not advised to exercise options is that by doing so you sacrifice any remaining extrinsic value. Even if SOUN were to drop below 2.50, if your put had any remaining extrinsic value, it would be better just to sell it and sell your 43 shares on the open market, rather than buying an additional 57 shares then exercising the put.

ooo...yeah, my bad on BYD. complete ignorance on my part. Mercedes' tech is outstanding, much better than TSLA in a lot of areas, but my understanding is that isn't done in house, for example SOUN does the voice recognition. Is Mercedes developing AI? I'm no TSLA fanboi, but i grow tired of the "this stock is worth $5" crowd based on personal feelings around Elon. I personally don't think the 37% it's sitting at right now is high given the potential. I've historically always thought it's overvalued. IF they deliver on the promises, then I think it's undervalued, but clearly the price reflects nobody has confidence in them, which is valid. I could see it hitting $120 and somewhere in 18 months going to $300 if they deliver on the new car and get the factories sorted out. One thing is certain, it's going to be interesting

In case anyone is looking for an update: SOUN hit my stop loss and I slowly exited all of my positions. My portfolio took a decent hit from this, I went from around 22k to 16.5k. The losses werent just from SOUN. My plans of being a day trader werent going well. So, what's my plan now? I full ported my account into NVDA (18 shares, avg cost of 876.74), then with the leftover 600 or so I bought 1 SPY and 192 shares of PRST (a penny stock focused on AI drive thru technology). Unistalled Robinhood. Maybe I'll be back one day, GLHF.

I understand and if the other guy loses money he will either learn or quit. And if he makes money he will probably make risky trades again and probably lose in the future. Losing is a lesson. I sold puts in SOUN at $5.50, it cost me $68 to BTC and bail. That was a $70 lesson in picking better stock to begin with. Luckily I noticed what was happening early and just bailed on that stock all together
I disagree with your advice. In general, I jump head first into everything new I want to learn. I plan on making mistakes so that I can learn faster. For the most part, people are too fearful of screwing up and making errors that it takes them too long to learn. If you're willing to accept making mistakes, there is no faster teacher. I just got into trading options and the first thing I did was sell a covered call, liquidate some of my holdings into cash and sold some putts. I even accidentally bought a put which I turned around and sold within less than a minute once I realized what I did. Definitely lost money on that transaction but it was only like $10 and I will never do that again. Don't get me wrong, I started with only a small portion of my money but I definitely started. And even though it's looking like I will end up ahead for the month, but I have definitely made some costly mistakes (like selling puts on SOUN). I will also admit that options trading is complicated and uses a bunch of new terms that I was unfamiliar with. But compared to investing, I think there's opportunity to make money faster in trading. And it is worth the risk to me Even if I end up losing 1% of my profile (but so far it doesn't look like I'm going to end up behind it all)

to add to this I think the price of MAMO is worth more than that but the reason I'd choose Sound long term is just personal. it is because I'm more sentiment about what the company is doing , I think MAMO might actually be better than SOUN but vehicle production is not something that i'm personally attached too

I’m there with you and am seeing my returns with a negative sign in front of the number and in that orange-red box. If you don’t need the money, sit on it and hopefully someday we will get the full value of our investment back or more. A loss or is not really a loss unless you sell your shares while in the red. I’m there with CleanSpark as well. So I’m just twiddling my thumbs while I sit at a couple hundred dollars down on SOUN and >$1200 for CLSK.
